The Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-S is the Best Way into an S-Chassis

- Today on the show we're hanging out with Darryl (@artforce.s15) and driving his N/A Nissan Silvia S15 Spec-S! This is the first time we've ever driven or featured a naturally aspirated S-chassis car on the channel, so that's a huge milestone... maybe we're drifting in the wrong direction haha. Kidding. It still has a twin cam SR20 under the hood, just minus the turbo. This particular example of a tastefully modified S15 is being driven as a daily which just might be the perfect environment for a Spec-S to thrive in! Let's find out. Enjoy!

All I've ever wanted is a set up like this for a simple s15. Nothing nuts. Just a beautiful car and a nice set of wheels to be a daily forever. I need this car.
I have a Spec S with a full Spec R conversion. It's a dream come true, absolutely love it
I do also have an spec-s that im doing a full rebuild off (built sr20det, rocket Bunny, paint, all bushings etc for more race and track . Sometimes i feel i should bought a spec r instead.. but you seem to be happy with yours

I like the tail lights on the s15. the entire car looks 5-7 years newer than what it is. When I played nfs as a kid I always thought the s15 looked newer than the year suggested, it confused me actually as a child lmaoo

My S15 is a Spec S and it's brilliant. I wasn't concerned with having the turbo variant as I a) already have a turbo car and b), S and R variants are nearly identical inside and out. I have mine as just a nice lightly-modified cruiser and I've never once wished for a turbo on it.
Hi there! I am planning on buying s15, but one problem out of 30 others...That car was made rhd and not lhd. Found one in Japan and importing to Croatia may not be possible but still, do you know someone or how to convert a right hand drive car to left hand drive car? I mean I still have 2 more years to think about it cuz I am 16

The Silvia was always and still is a sexy car design...idk if any of you remember the Toyota Levin but that sleek look on the front and lights with the simplicity is nice. Classic car drift car or not
Drift cars are already pretty well set up for grip driving, especially S-chassis. You don't need two cars to do both! Check out Sammit's video of him going to a track day with his Yashio Factory drift car, or the best motoring videos where they get pro drifters to grip race their cars. I've taken my "drift spec" S15 to mission raceway for a speedfanatics track day and it performed better than I could have hoped for.

What you say about preservation of 90s cars is absolutely right. We need to think of ourselves as custodians of these cars for future generations rather than infinite objects that can just be replaced.
Also, am I the only one that prefers the sound of the NA SR20DE? And as you're saying, the drive seems like it's so much more fun on the streets.
Right?! 10 years from now I bet we'll see some insane JDM collectors come out of nowhere. The smart ones have already begun the importing process haha
Bought my spec s in 2017 sold in 2020. Then bought my spec r for 3.5 times as much. Spec r is rad but I worried about the s a lot less. NA is sick, the autech version would be perfect. 40hp bump. 6spd. Spec r diff/brakes, and more.

I wish the spec r front bumpers where easy to come by they look so much nicer then these bumpers in my opinion. Besides that this is all a car needs to be, nice and simple.
The spec s are still fairly cheap and affordable too I’ve found a lot of rightly priced low mileage spec s

Yeah same, but I got a problem to import from Japan and since in Croatia you must have left hand drive car, I am looking for someone who knows how to convert rhd to lhd...😔

The autech has a higher comp motor.
The spec s Silvia is a non turbo with standard Sr20de :)

JDM Spec S is the only one that's NA, the S15 200SX ADM model is still a DET SR

This car with itb's and some reliability work and I'd hound the crap outta it. Vintage brz. Really. Yeah that's right. 90s legend compared to a modern car
Never thought that looked like a Grand Am living here in the USA.. I'd say more the 1st gen Acura TL rear end.. But god I want an S15 :/ .. Nissan, plz stop being a bitch and make an S16 to compete with what's out right now.. Plus would get a lot of exposure with FD!

Spec s gt is the turbo ones his one is a autech which is junk
His one isn't an autech, it's a Jdm spec s, arguably better than the adm spec
Nearly same power output
Auto climate control, non maxima steering wheel ,much stronger gearbox, lighter, more engine bay room etc
