Here in front of us are two Nissan Skyline R34 GTRs that have been converted to LHD! (Left Hand Drive). Of course, the Skyline GTR was never originally sold by the manufacturer as a LHD vehicle, so enthusiasts have made quick business sense of this by converting a portion of these vehicles with the intent to drive them in countries or jurisdictions where it is either prohibitively expensive or unlawful to drive a RHD vehicle on public roads. Up until today we had never come across any LHD-swapped JDM vehicles in Canada, but if this is any indication of what might begin to land on American soil in a few years, it'll be interesting to see what GTR enthusiasts make of this! Do you think these cars are worth less now? or more? We'd love to hear your thoughts. Both GTRs were detailed by Autodromo.ca here in Richmond. Enjoy!
Both cars are for sale. Please contact marcus@roadsuntraveled.com for further information

I'll definitely check them. Im in the market for 1
Why did the vidoe flop ??
Wow, that's amazing. At least it's better than RHD. Keep up the good work, bro. PEACE!! ✌
In my country (the philippines) we have law that makes all right hand drive cars illegal to own so gtr/skyline owners have to get creative and use s chassis sub frames and or cefiro steering racks
sup pare
may nalalaman ka bang shop sa philippines pre na marunong mag convert
May skyline r33 dito sa amin right hand drive, gabi lang kung lumabas.
Here in myanmar, our roads are right on the right side but everyone drives the right-hand drive cars and can rarely see left-hand cars here lol. We have a strong love for imported jdm cars so if all the right-hand cars are outlawed, there will be chaos.😂
@shaun so if bawal mag import ng RHD cars, paano naman iniimport ng ibang pinoy yung mga skylines sa Pinas? Hindi ba RHD pa yun kasi nangaling sa Japan yun?
Such beautiful cars! Would love to own an R34 skyline one day. The r34 gtr is an all time dream car for me and I'm sure many others!
They even swapped the whipers over.. alot of conversions don't bother...👏🏻👍🏻
Pretty cool how well these conversions have been done, but for me I'd never bother converting to left hand drive. Being rhd is part of the novelty for me with these amazing JMD cars that were never sold here. I daily my Altezza with no problems whatsoever.
These things exist because some countries doesn't permit cars that are rhd to be road legal.
Evo Emperor exactly!! So converting to LHD is a must. I’ll set aside the jdm culture just to drive my dream car.
I'd love to drive a genuine American muscle car in my country but the government might've ban LHDs. We do got old Mustangs in Malaysia but keep in mind Ford made the Mustangs RHD in 2015/2016 and those 1960's Mustangs must've been imported earlier. Strange that Malaysians never bother to import Holdens from Australia. It's the country that design and build its own muscle cars and they're RHD.
@@evoemperor3776 I know right!!!! Damn laws in some countries that don't permit RHDs are killjoys, if this was the case for me I wouldn't buy it, because it destroys its purity
@Evo Emperor I think the issue with this is when going to pass someone it's very difficult to check while in a RHD car.
So, Chile and Peru also do these swaps because they’re not allowed to drive RHD cars. The way they do it in Peru and Chile is splitting the dashboard into three parts and somehow mash them up together into the LHD configuration.
They should do this anywhere else, especially in Aruba and the US.
It’s cool to see a LHD swapped JDM car. They are unique.
RHD's are gangsta, until they pull up on LHD fast food drive thru's 😆
Russia, 30 years rhd, no problem
You just need a friend if you want to eat :)
How many Skylines don't have a fine ass b*tch in the passenger seat to grab your food? C'mon now! 😂
Or just back up into reverse lol
Left hand drive invading JDM space!
OMG it looks just like a right hand drive Skyline wow who would of thought
I came from Daily Driven Exotics video today looking this at this same pair. Didn’t realize the red one was originally white. Fake TE37 is not confidence inspiring. Quite an interesting collection in the garage where these came from.
Damn, love this channel, been watching for awhile now. It's cool to see you review all of these cars, being r34s are my dream car, I hope one day to drive one! For now though, I'll live through you! Keep up the good work
I've seen several RHD to LHD Nissan conversions in central Europe and the people used to use S chassis dashes and steering components.
I would be curious to see how the reliability is having all he engine internals moved around and things displaced from factory. They look amazing. I’d absolutely love to own one.
The engine's aren't gunna have anything done to them, just mainly the steering components and interior peices
@@vlcallmeprince-x6032 The reason we rarely see a converted Right to Left Gtr 32/33/34 is that its not as easy as you said. "steering component and dash" you say?
that long ass shaft is on the right side. and whats on the left side? a lot of engine components.
Awesome work. Big fan of the channel. I was excited to see you got a 34.
I also picked up a r34 gtt back in March to import to the US (NJ) in 2023.. can’t wait to add to my fleet. Keep up the good work and excited to see content on the 34 !
i wonder what a conversion costs! would love the comfort of LHD in such a legendary JDM car over here in the states
10-20k
Theres company in EU (Check republic) ,they do full "turn key" conversions for about 30k euro. As I heard, they do it in top quality manner, making their own interior that does not squeek like in many other conversions.
Wow! I drooled alittle bit over the red one and I'm not even ashamed of myself! LOL!
I remember my dad having a brown r34 when I was just a little kid smh. Me and my older brother would watch 2 fast 2 furious in then back seat but sadly the people that sold it to us took it back because they didn’t finish paying off:( and that’s all I remember of that beautiful gem
I just converted mine back to RHD! LHD just felt wrong
bruh u mad
Yes that's right I prefer real Japanese RHD
I don't know why you'd do that in the first place 😬 expensive mistake
I have a rhd Celica gt four and I hate it , it's in my garage collecting dust . Simple things like passing and pulling out of your drive way can cause a very bad accident. I'll find someone to do a conversion, I don't think it should be too hard since the same car was sold in the States.
how much did it cost
Something looks off with both of them externally in the rear around the quarters, looks kinda like overfenders the way they stick out past the light covers
Yeah those came stock on some special edition
Z-tune kit, I think you could get them from factory, but it's not oem fenders all the way around
Hey Marcus are the turn signals and wipers reversed still on those cars?
No. They are arranged properly as per LHD standards. Cheers
Canada start Converting RHD jdm car to LHD. Just like in the philippines a bunch gtr are LHD converted.
No need, RHD is completely legal in Canada as long as it’s over 15yrs old.
@@thecanadiannetworkingitguy5002 Move to another province lol, I wouldn’t live in QC unless you’re french or PEI unless you like living in seclusion 🤣
This is litterally my dream setup, as many the gtr r34 has been a dream car since I was a young boy, match that with that I have a LHD car fetish this is just goals haha
haha funny thing i also have a lhd fetish (funni xd)
I think Japan and the United Arab Emirates, particularly Dubai, have been making Left Hand Drive Nissan Skyline GT-R R34. The 2 nations making LHD Conversions for the Nissan Skyline GT-R R34, along with the Nissan Skyline GT-R R32, and the Nissan Skyline GT-R R33
there is a country on Europe who does conversions on skylines gtr from RHD TO LHD. best conversions i seen so far.
Full carbon fiber hood ..... 🔥🔥🔥 amazing, not like most of the aftermarket carbon fiber hoods.
In my country (portugal) we do drive LHD cars. So I would love to find a version like this online so I could have one. I don’t like RHD cars because it’s strange for me to drive.
It makes life a lot easier in countries outside the ones that drive on the left side of the road. I don't think I would ever buy a LHD car here in Japan. But if I lived stateside I'd definitely wouldn't want a RHD car.
if you live in japan why do you sit on the left side of the car in your profile picture ???
Here in the philippines if you import a car in japan it is needed to convert to LHD because the philippines is a LHD country the rules here are different in the USA
honestly, Will The be car safe after conversion? How much it will cost approx?
I actually prefer RHD. I'm a lefty so it's easier to shift and use the controls. Lol.
Also just a couple of things that stood out to me, not hate tho
1. Both fenders/taillight don't line up (bad lighting, install etc)
2. On the red one the rims are pretty deep inside
3. The dash on the white one is pretty badly done, not even the same parts as the red one
But this makes me question are these even real gtr's and not converted gtt's ?
Do you happen to have more pictures of the red one somewhere ?
There had been a GTR R34 going around in asia. This should be in bayside blue and ended up in the philippines where the car has been converted and if my memory serves me right the very first R34 that has been converted to LHD. Its so clean that its caught the attention of nissan and has been recognised as an official R34. Funny enough, there were plans of this car hanging around that time, like actual blue prints on how you would convert it to LHD, only issue is that no one knows who made the plans for the original LHD convertion, all we know is that it was made well. Only rumor surrounding that plans is that its was supposedly made by a nissan engineer. Most likely the blue prints for these car for their convertion came from that car or rather its plans
Hello from Manila. I used to pass by that car on my way to 7/11 with our old dog. Dog passed after Covid so I haven't seen that car much on my walks out. But I can confirm it does exist. It's not the only one in my community. There's a white one a few blocks over, also LHD because RHD is not street-legal in PH.
Hell yeah I’ll take a LHD skyline⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️🎰🎰🎰🎰🎰🎰🎰
Their both very beautiful cars. The lhd is definitely something to get used to..still very cool though. Hey for those who aren't comfortable driving rhd here ya go...your even more rare now.
That’s cool but when I was growing up, the first time I saw a Skyline was in Gran Turismo 1 on the OG PlayStation and from the research that I did at the time, I found out that it was RHD.
As a kid born and raised in the US, up until that discovery I thought that every car in the world was LHD so when I found out that it and other cars were built as a RHD, I decided that when I got older that was the dream car that I was gonna get.
I’m still gonna get one but the steering wheel needs to be on the right hand side. I already own a LHD car and I’ve driven plenty so having a Skyline would be a change from the norm.
Plus Nissan never officially built LHD versions of the R32, R33, or R34, so as a result I wouldn’t own a LHD converted one no matter how amazingly accurate the conversion was done, because it’s not the way Nissan originally intended to build these cars, and I feel it kinda takes away from the original mystique and novelty for a person in North America, and especially the US to get a real JDM imported car such as this in a way that feels too familiar to the millions of other cars that are already on the road.
Any insight as to what steering rack is being used?
Nothing wrong with conversion imo if its done well. I don't personally want to shift with my left hand if I don't have to, since I'm right handed.
Find RHD muscle cars next! The R34 is already becoming expensive, I think making them LHD will make the remaining RHD even more expensive. Only 11K were made, keep in mind and Nissan couldn't return them to production line due to ever changine road laws and regulations. Yes there are RHD muscle cars, which are the rarest due to so few countries that made them like Australia. Strange my countrymen never bother to import some Chrysler Valiant Chargers or Holden Toranas but they do import genuine LHD American classics though.
Nice "Nizmo" shift knob at 2:14. lol 😅
Driving a rhd car is only a flex in North America lol. Anyways i love those conversions.
I watch a RUclips video a decade ago about some JDM cars and other street cars. In this video, there were at least 2 R34s in LHD configuration. The people in the video were either Russian or of some other Eastern European descent.
In UAE we are allowed to drive RHD the car just has to be 30 years old and registered under classic plates
I remember driven one that is lhd conversion r34 2002 Nissan Skyline GTS-T when i wemt to laos for a vacation in 2006.
Its weird seeing a right hand drive car rolling the streets of North America, but it is weirder seeing a GTR being left hand drive. But i like it hahaha
Those exist here in the Philippines which is a reason why they're quite affordable here.
Here in the States of much rather drive on the left hand side, passing can get pretty dangerous.
utterly amazing
Beautiful left drive 😍 hear in Oman I have skyline r30 RS 😁👋
Love mine - RHD. Took a short time to get use to but it was not a big deal. Correction on the white color It's QM1 or QX1 Are these cars for sale?
Maybe time to pick up another one. Marcus, is that salt on the road? Arrrgh.....
Yes for sale. Marcus@roadsuntraveled.com if you're interested!
How'd they do the swap? Like what dash did they, and what mods needed to be done?
they use nissan blue bird spare parts steering box ect....... in middle east
I wish the speedometer for the R34 is converted to MPH for the US, Mexico and the UK.
absolute destruction. hahaha, boggles by mind how LHD conversions get done especially with the whole dash flipping, should let the Active Red GTR guy know that his nismo white shift knob is fake
Does this statistic mean that rhd-owners drive more aggressively?
Actually Nissan is funny because the handbrakes are setup for RHD and they don't change it for LHD
It's opposite for Z33, it's designed for LHD and then the RHD is messed up for handbrake location.
Yes! MR2 is also handbrake on the right, I always found it to get in the way tbh though haha
Same with the MX5 NA/Eunos Roadster :D
still LOOKS amazing. Interior looks clean and modern too. But too much hassle and costs. Get me an 2017 Mustang Ecoboost 6R80 automatic and MOD it out :)
What.
I swear I've never seen this before.❤️💯👍
Anyone asserting that RHD cars are more "dangerous" than LHD ones clearly does not understand the difference between causation and correlation.
I would never change my r34 to left hand drive 😅 but great video!
right hand is illegal in my country i would convert it to left hand drive :(
These both are from the UAE, I know the red’s owner @ in insta not personally though, as for the white one it’s been on sale of the longest time, both were bought by some motor export guy that I also know his @ in insta, these are converted to LHD by specific known autoshop in the UAE, famous in all of the gulf for their really professional skyline conversions from RHD to LHD, in which everyone from different gulf countries import their skylines to the UAE to get them converted then import them back to their countries (other gulf countries), I basically know all of this cus I myself from the UAE
Hey mate, mind sharing the name of the company in UAE that does the RHD to LHD conversions? Interested to get some info from them, etc. Thanks in advance.
Vectral555 there are two “garages” aka car shops for changing the steering here that are known, the most known one is names “Suhaila Garage” in Umm Al Quawain, unfortunately you can’t find infos about them online, only phone number I guess but it’s where 97% of where skylines are converted, other one is a bit new and I hardly ever heard someone talk about it but their @ on insta is gtr_zx, a bit new and their location is in Ajman Al Jerf industrial area, I just couldnt find any info online about the garage, sorry I know my answer been all over the place but yea
i just bought the white one, id love to learn more about it!
@@samrasmussen7010 Why do you sell it? I find it on the internet for sale…
Red one looks horrendous with the panel misalignment and gaps.
Ikr the white seems to have panel problems too
@@NeilTheBoss12 I know. I don’t know if that’s normal after seeing it on both of those. 🤷🏻♂️ Dont own a R34 to check for myself. Where the rear 1/4 and taillights meet are is consistent on both of them. I wouldn’t think that’s normal.
I want to an LHD R34 but I can find one. Someone please tell me where I can find one.
Its cool they could do lhd conversion but if its not the middle east it should be rhd. If you dont like rhd dont get one. Thats why i didnt play the crew due to a lhd r34....
There is a blue R34 GTR LHD and a purple R33 GTT in Brazil too
Nice video but I can't understand if they are a bnr34 😅
This is something I would prefer tbh .. rhd is cool but I won’t drive my best
where can i inquire about buying one?
How can I buy the LHD converted r34? Are these legal in Canada?
Most of the LHD converted ones come from the UAE. Any cars 15+ years or older are legal to import into Canada! R34s have been legal for about 9 years. We are able to import early RHD R35 GTRs now.
As I am from Oman, here every car is Left hand drive and I have been into a skyline
LHD conversion for the Middle East market or the Philippines. Unless it was imported from those countries 🤷🏽
Edit the narrator did mention they were from United Arab Emirates after posting my original post .
Price please? Where in Canada are you located?
in costa rica there are like 5-6 in the whole country and all are LHD.. its ilegal to drive a RHD here... to be honest l have driven RHD in the uk and its just awful how countries drive on the wrong side of the streets while you have to turn to the left you literally have to cross 3 lines
Isn't it the same GTR that DDE make a video about it?
Can someone fill me in on as to why Rigister a r34 in Florida?
It’s 2021...hennything is possible
For me it's a plus. Here in the Philippines, it is ILLEGAL to own, drive and/or import Right Hand Drive vehicles. It's in our law. So it pains me that all my JDM dream cars are RHD. Seeing conversions like these makes me hopeful.
WTF left drive R34
Where can I find LHD version
Ah doğukan abi sanada lazım bundan birtane
I know a guy who swapped the vin from a S13 with a Skyline in the states
I wanna buy one where can I get it
Still around or for sale ?
Destruction. Blasphemy even.
Ur opinion, this is my dream car n if I’m able to get one living in Chicago I’m for sure getting a left hand swap
Meanwhile in Bugatti : Do not change my mind
I absolutely hate RHD, just find it completely wrong and counter-intuitive, would be awesome to try one of these
How do you even change a car form RHD to LHD or LHD to RHD
Lhd Steering rack, hole in firewall, dash bar inverted and support re welded on other side
The rest is just cosmetic
Some use Nissan Bluebird or custom dash.
These are almost guaranteed to be GTT's converted to GTR's. All of the signs are there (including the build dates). You can also tell from the fit and finish that they had GTR conversions done. Things like the rear quarter not lining up to the tail lights is the most obvious one, because a real GTR would never have this issue unless it had major accident damage.
And just like that the channel is back to life...
At least one video every week for the past 5 years :) the life has never left
Maybe when the podcast died it felt like it... and im a listener ... with grayson and his good rides... just seems like something happen and the channel growth was halted...
I think the red one is for sale. 150k?
Like I said they're both for sale! Marcus@roadsuntraveled.com if you're interested. Thank you
In the Arab region we have a factory LHD r32 r33 r34 gtr’s
That red one 😍
Awesome, that would be perfect to me in my country. I have car magazine from 2002 if remember right, there is GT-R 32 what is turned LHD skyline, also there was one GT-R 33
I seen a few lhd in Dubai
Fit and Finish on the white car is really bad around the right quarter panel where it meets the taillight/trunk. i would say this car has probably been in an accident, or is a GTT converted into a GTR
Definitely GTT's. None of the panels line up, a very obvious sign of GTR conversions (which are quite common).
In Germany there is a R33 or R34 Gtr in LHD
Nissan should have made the cars that way for the North American market
Totally agree, but some would argue they just wouldn't be nearly as special today if that had been the case! The final product may also have been "watered down" in order to sell it in North America.. no fun.
Can someone please explain why gtr’s are illegal in USA??
What dash is it?
Literally .. All R34 gtr is made in right hand drive bro.. Cause R34 gtr made n sell in japan only(only for Japanese market) as u can see above there is a dashboards swap maybe
The red one is on eBay right now for $200k.
beautiful , great, Ilike one for me!
