Few stealth games captured my interest and imagination like Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell. The genre is full of crazy high tech spy gadgets or futuristic scenarios like in Hitman or Metal Gear. But Splinter Cell always stands out with it's modest and grounded approach to stealth action game. Incorporating real world tech such as the camera snake, or to even how Sam plays. He does not have a video game double jump or increased speed to dash through the game. All of controls and movement of Sam Fisher is within human limits and that patience and simplicity help accent this careful but lethal journey. Let's see how this classic stealth game holds up in my Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell review!
Let me know what you think about my Splinter Cell review!

The mattress ad is symbolic of how much Splinter Cell has been slept on by the Industry
According to Micheal Ironside, they are making a VR splinter cell game that’s coming out.
I mean, it's hard to feel right making more classic style Splinter Cell when the Saints Row IV Stealth parody level's best jokes are at your franchise's expense. "That light had a family!"
Doubt
@@Volvagia1927 how does that affect anything
🤣🤣🤣👏👏
"Splinter Cell insured that the stealth action genre is here to stay"
Anyone remember Sam Fisher in Ghost Recon Wildlands getting all sad knowing Snake has retired and it's only him left?
Raiden could still technically do stealth action genre, but slicing stuff is just more his thing now.
Probably my favorite eastern egg ever in gaming
That Easter egg fucked me up
So MGS is cannon in splinter cell?
I do. Have you played: Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, for: Xbox 360? It was a launch title back in 2005. G4tv gave it a 5... out of 5. ❄️.*
Good old days when stealth games were it's own genre. It was about well design level design, atmosphere and multiple options in tackling your objectives. Nowadays most games just add a crouch button, tack on a "sneaky kill" and couple of bushes to hide in then calls it a day.
AND a crafting system
The one thing that can destroy the legendary beard, a new bed.
"Let us join Special Agent Bob, and Secret Agent Steve.
Two of our finest men to ever be called 'The Splinter Cell'."

I always feel good whenever Jirard gets a sponsor he legitimately enjoys.
Well rested Jirard is best Jirard
I always feel good when creators put their sponsors AT THE END OF THE VID
@@Creepa99 what difference does it make
Of course he likes it he’s getting paid. And he got the stuff for free
Same
I am so so so happy this series is getting some much needed love lately.
Yeah like watching Archer and playing these games!
Somebody paid Jirard enough to get him to sleep! Finally!
Helix was such a good sleep, his beard disappeared.
Yeah he slept sp well he forgot to play so his beard mode was disengaged
his beard grows with his sleep deprivation
Hopefully it also helps shed the extra ballast.
His beard literally said 😴
I honestly bought a Helx bed after this. Drank all Saturday night, wanted to sleep longer but my body wouldn't let me. I went hey, let's just watch some Completionist and now hopefully this bed solves my sleepin' issue.
For this game to come out of nowhere in 2002 and give Metal Gear Solid a run for its money as the best stealth action game in the industry was mind blowing. Let’s hope we get a new Splinter Cell 🤞
Blacklist is actually good old game.
As a long time fan, I'm buckled in for the long haul to get a new SC game
@@justinc246 Given how well received the new Hitman trilogy is, there is no reason to be afraid of making new Splinter Cell maybe learn a thing or 2 with that game
Thief The Dark Project and Metal Age were the best stealth games in the industry*
@@raresmacovei8382 What makes it the best?
to quote Gimli from The Lord of the Rings: "Ahh! NOT THE BEARD!!"
Probably shot a new intro
@@BillPairaktaridis actually that MIGHT be why it happened, preparing for the new "400 games and counting" intro... it's been a minute.
He should complete Chaos Theory. That's a gem that everyone should play.
Amen.
Also Pandora Tomorrow
@@CarlosAugustoMendozaSanchez I loved Pandora Tomorrow. It felt to me like kind of an expansion pack to the original game. Chaos Theory was my absolute favorite though. It really felt like an enormous evolution of the series in all the right ways and it was pretty much flawless.
Of course, I haven’t played them in a long time, but that’s how I always remembered them.
I own that game, but I've never played it. It's surprisingly still in the original packaging, and has never been opened. It's for PS2.
@@zzzhuh maybe you can sell it with a good chunk of profit
I only started to play this recently but my god, Splinter Cell aged like fine wine. The gunplay is the only thing I can say is frustrating.
I want Pandora Tomorrow to come back to PC.
Same! It's the only one missing in my digital collection.
There's a mod that adds better textures and fixes the lighting in Pandora Tomorrow. Only thing is you have to "buy" the old PC version. Yes... "buy"...
@@jgalla5549 who cares its abandonware pirate it all what you want
What happened to Jirard? Who is this new beardless host???? Guys help I’m so confused
Stranger danger! STRANGER DANGER
He found a double and shaved said double.
Babyface Jirard has returned. God help us all.
Fat men in entertainment ultimately have to push themselves to be fatter, crazier, and more erratic to keep up their act. This inevitably leads to drug abuse and terrible health, which ultimately kills them. This is the beginning of the end for Jirard. He made his bed, now he will died in it.
@@WtfRUclips_YouSuck You are crazy but I won't say incorrect because noone knows the future.
Wow that de-aging software used on Jirard this episode is amazing.
I pulled a random book off my dads shelf and was blown away, I never knew the twighlight series was written by Tom Clancy
Bro I didn’t realize Tom Clancy wrote the Bible
But ubisoft ruined it
@@wiiblii8584 that reply could be applied to so many scenarios that it's comical.
"X happened!"
"But ubisoft ruined it"
@@Genasidal I was going to delete it because I realized what he meant but yeah I guess it is funny
Thomas Clancy.
But only the King James Version
Just 5 more til' the big 400! Can't wait to see it within 5 weeks!
Would be cool to see you tackle the Metal Gear Solid series. MGS3 is my all-time favorite game. I’d guess the PS3 version would offer you the most in terms of completion. Would love to see some more throwback games.
A high quality mattress can make a world of difference! Also don't forget about a good pillow. I bought a tempurpedic pillow and I will never go back! It was only about $50 and took about 3 nights to get used to it .I no longer have neck pain and I sleep much better because of it.
i dont know why i find this so funny. "the mattress was assembled in minutes " . Start of building -> day light - end of build sunset :D
was waiting for the completionist to get overwhelmed after all this time by a game that truly doesnt want to waste his time. Being a completionist is cool but not when games prey (like you said) on you wanting more "stuff" of any kind.
Ah, back when ubisoft was one of my favorite developers and not just a cookie cutter
Well, here in Germany we call "Flash Drives" "USB Sticks" - not too far away drom "Data Sticks" :)
This was so nostalgic I almost shed a tear. I remember getting this Christmas 3rd grade and played non stop over Christmas break
The fact that Jirard shaved his beard means that there's a new intro coming
Thnx man for all the great videos. I have recently started watching the completionist and have caught up few weeks ago. Always something new to watch
He shaved, episode 400 is nearly upon us
They really need to bring this series back
Back in the day when games actually played different.
There are actually three extra levels that you get when you install SC on Xbox One (or buy the game from GOG). Shame that Jirard didn't try them out. They were originally download only, so it's amazing that they brought them back!
Jirard needs to do more Splinter Cell games! this series needs more love
I'll bet that Jirard has a closet full of beards, one for every day of the week XD
Chaos Theory was my first Splinter Cell. It had a demanding learning curve but it was one of the best stealth games ever and the best game in the series.
I'm glad he mentioned the graphics.
Maybe it's just me getting old but when I saw that plastic sheet move around Sam, or the shadows, my reaction was. "Dang that looks good for 2002!"
Also a bit of Tenchu's "think vertically" concept.
I gotta say that I love all the skits and bits. They're a lot of fun
3:08 Tom Clancy wrote my dad's secret hentai stash apparently
Oof
Anything good?
Proof that it is art
A father of culture. 🧐
That's kind of weird
The idea of being able to go off and just look around for no real reason then lore and atmosphere is a simple bliss theirs whole games of just that :3
If we’re talkin’ about Tom Clancy’s games here then the only one I can mention that I’ve actually played is Hawx 2. It was delightfully cheesy & cool at the same time.
One of my favorite series of games of all time, glad to see him complete the game that started it
Great video, made start replaying the whole Splinter Cell series.
The Incredible Hulk: Ultimate Destruction and then after completing that, X-Men Legends 2: Rise of Apocalypse. Thanks for the content by the way Jirard
@@paco1667 I think you’re talking this a bit seriously
@@paco1667 I'm sorry ill make sure to do that its just I had been asking him this for a while that's all my bad
Any Completionist video is the best way to end the night. Thanks for doing what you do week after week, you really are a legend bro
Tom Clancy had so many great books and so many great games came from it.
Underrated gem I suggest, a strategy game called Tom Clancy's Endwar.
It can be controlled FULLY by voice commands. It's about ww3 and ties in with a bunch of the other series.
I'm glad that Jirard is getting better sleep.
Happy for your #sponsor bro love it, looking #Cleanbois too!
So happy to see Splinter Cell getting some love. Stealth games are such a deeply rooted joy of mine with SC, Tenchu, and MGS being the tops. I don’t know if you played the sequels of SC, but I recommend Chaos Theory 👀 treat yourself.
really stoked to see you complete chaos theory and double agent one day
Please do more Splinter Cell games! I wouldn't be disappointed if you skipped Conviction and Blacklist, but at the same time hearing your thoughts on the entire series would be worth the watch for sure. Chaos Theory is one my favourite games of all time.
Gettin' close to 400 games completed, keep on keepin' on my man.
I miss this game so much I remember moving to my grandma's and my uncle had this game and I started and instantly fell in love reminding me of metal gear in some ways uhgg the nostalgia.
I laughed so hard at the light switch part. Love it!
He shaved his beard to prepare for the intro to games 400 - 499. There's always a "beard mode engaged" sequence and I'm so ready to see what it is
Ive always loved splinter cell. It reminds me of years ago when me and my grandpa would play it on our xbox after eating a meal.
I can't remember which one it was, but one of my first games I ever played was a Splinter Cell game, and I loved the stealth in it so much that now I try to be stealthy in every game I play.
Your videos are fantastic as ever keep up the good work
Some great transitions this episode!
I honestly enjoyed this series more than most stealth games, mainly because of the more grounded approach. It's a nice change of pace and helps immerse you in the game's world without anything feeling out of place. That and Sam Fisher is one of my favorite characters, along with Michael Ironside's voice acting nailing the role. If you can, please check out the rest of the series as they are excellent games.
Always loved me some good stealth...
So glad you found a sponsor you truly appreciate, Jirard! Hope you rest well!
That was a really fun change up to the video.
hey jirard , i’ve been watching since the beginning and i love your videos so much thank you and your team for all your hard work.
i was wondering if you could complete battle block theater?
I can’t lie, these are some of my favorite types of games for Jirard to complete. There’s no “this was a good game, EXCEPT I had to beat super hard mode without dying once using only the rubber ducky gun”
Just a nice, straight forward, fun but not too stressful completion experience. Jirard deserves that every now and then, and it’s just nice to see
FINALLY Jirard is getting some g'ddamn rest!!
I always remember this game due to the Ellsworth Federal Penitentiary being made after the Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary (my hometown). First town of Kansas and has more prisons than you would think would be in one town. Also, nobody has ever successfully escaped from the Leavenworth Federal Penitentiary before
Now I'm hyped for the episode covering Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, the best in the series!!
I grew up playing The Splinter Cell series as a kid. Sure The first 3 were difficult at first but now I gotten better and I remember how hard The Tom Clancy Games were back in the late 90s and early 2000 era.
Gotta get through Pandora Tomorrow first.
@@mcminer2011 Yeah Pandora Tommorow was a bit easier than The First One.
What would also be cool is if he completed Hitman. The time of stealth.
Dude we are IN SYNC! I just started replaying Splinter Cell with the goal to actually beat it after years of watching my brother play as I grew up. Shit is no joke-but also full of meme material. Looking forward to this review.
For some reason, Ive never beat Splinter cell or Pandora's Tomorrow. Always replayed Chaos Theory
@@SoFreshBlaze yeah we downloaded the entire trilogy on our PS3 a few years back
Loved the review Jirard.
Splinter Cell is one of the best games ever created without question
This was pretty entertaining. Also, Splinter Cell is a great stealth game :D
I haven't even watched this video yet. I love Splinter Cell so much so thank you for whatever I'm about to watch.
seeing the brief moment of tenchu made me really miss tenchu z, that game was fun as hell and made u feel like a ninja
This was one of the first games I've ever played on console. I grew up with little money so my first experience with videogames was on the Gameboy Advanced until my uncle gifted me his Xbox along with Splinter Cell, Star Wars Empire at War, and Halo 2. I wasn't allowed to keep Halo 2 but Splinter Cell was rated T, so I played the crap out of that game, I was young and not smart enough to beat it but I loved every second I had with it. Still one of the best stealth games out there, I hope Sam Fisher will return in his own videogame soon.
Oh my God I've been waiting so long for you to do one of these.
I am not a fan of military focused games or settings. But this one was awesome to play when my dad first got an xbox and this was one of the games. I loved the stealth aspect and it was done so well. I never beat it though....the later levels are quite difficult
I love all of the splinter cell games and yes I played on the og Xbox back In the day and still own it too this day every game and I wish it would come back
Can't wait to see you complete Splinter Cell Chaos Theory the BEST game in the series its pretty much PERFECT
Man I miss when Splinter Cell was a much more focused game series like the original. Good episode my dude!
Splinter Cell was one of the best series ever. Splinter Cell: Conviction was quite possibly the beginning of the extreme cynicism I have towards games these days.
Why? Haven’t played the games
@@mysteryman1036 Take all the good things he mentions about these games here, then play any Ubisoft game made in the last decade.
That's why.
@@psmitty840 😬
I remember getting this on my original xbox, it was magical time. I never finished it though, Some level stumped me and never moved past it.
Glad you got sponsored from something that will genuinely help you throughout the night
I'll have you know the books on my dad's shelf are all my books because basically everything I read I then hand to him, so its mostly sanderson.
LOVED THE INTRO JIRARD
Jirard, there is a Mission Pack DLC for the first SC which add 3 new missions. I don't think it's available for Xbox One, but it's easily available for PC.
My dad and I didnt agree on much before we went our seperate ways, but one of my earliest memories was sitting in the living room with my brother and a bowl of dry cereal, watching my dad kick butt at Splinter Cell XD So i guess this game has a small corner in my heart
Such a coincidence this came into my recommendations just now.
I love Splinter Cell! Chaos Theory next! :D
This is such a great episode!!!
The hand crafted animations in splinter cell are still amazing.
Haha that spit at 2:51
"In 2002 I would get done with a college class and then play Splinter Cell." Bro, this was my childhood videogame. I was five years old. I thought you were in your mid 20's
Amazing video man
Huh weird, didn’t know Tom Clancy wrote this playboy thing...
The first and only Splinter cell game I play was one on the gameboy advance and it was amazing. Really hard to complete for me but the gameplay was good for me.
Money well spent I like the transitions.
Holy shit. 5 games till 400. Keep going my guy
My new favorite quote from this channel is “Coming home from freshman English reading catcher and the rye or some shit” 😂😂
Nice mattress 😮
Ubisoft needs to stop beating dead horses and make another splinter cell game.
What dead horses are they beating
@@aaronjames3228 Not really dead horses, but: Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Ghost Recon and Rainbow Six.
@@aaronjames3228 *clears throat* assassin's creed, watchdogs, just dance, far cry, ghost recon, rainbow six (the best of the dead horses), and the division.
In short, I just want another rayman or splinter cell game.
