Kind of sad really that I can't complete it because my copy crashed in the middle of it and won't in my PS3 won't even begin to start playing it it just blue screens on me every time
Fun fact: throughout the game, you can see silhouettes of clockwork secretly watching you, it’s terrifying and a great hint for a sequel that will probably never come
@@sephiroth21347 yeah you can see him in the skybox a lot. I’m less certain of this, but I seem to remember you can see him as well hidden in that final cutscene where sly is in Egypt
The problem with Penelope is that the betrayal comes out of nowhere. She looked up to Sly in the previous game and now she hates him because they could be rich and famous if Bentley didn't have any morality in what he created.
@@personmcpersonstein3571 totally the betrayal just came out of nowhere. Maybe if we got more in depth of how Le Paradox got to her, I’d get it but it didn’t happen.
and there wasnt a single hint of her wanting money in the last game, if she wanted money, she would have stayed as the baron, or that parrot pirate enemy, but she wanted adventure and Sly's attention slowly turning to Bentley's.
Same and Tbh I think they keep getting better with each game. 1's Carmelita was the weakest performance, 2 is better than 1, 3 is better than 2, and 4 has Grey Delisle Griffin, a bonafide voice acting goddess.
I still love that Jirard actually got a hook-cane of his own. Mad props to the one who forged it for him: I'm sorry, but I've completely forgotten your name, but I do know that you forged a wonderful prop for Jirard.
I recall that the lore within the series, the the oldest known member of the Cooper family was the personal Thief of a Pharaoh. Seeing as Sly is trapped in the past, specifically Egypt, It's possible that he is either the progenitor of his clan, or the teacher of that specific ancestor.
@@Yarharsuperpirate If you apply that logic, you could argue that pre-raccoon mammals would be even earlier in the lineage. Like disregarding ancient egyptians because we descended from apes.
I found the twist a little annoying because of how the character in question is portrayed. Penelope comes off as very mean to the Cooper Gang, having almost nothing good to say about any of them despite what she went through with them. She used to have a crush on Sly and yet she now just hates him outright, and her motivation feels flimsy given how she's kind of living a dream with the man she loves, inventing time travel while sitting atop the biggest treasure hoard in history. A personal theory is that she has been hypnotized by Clockwork, something we know he has the power to do, and we know is still around since he can be seen the background of several levels. Penelope may have thought she could go back and stop him before he killed Sly's dad or the like, but ended up being defeated and turned into a villain herself. Without that, her heel turn just feels way too abrupt.
Agreed. while being one of the few things I really didn't like about the game Penelope betraying the cooper gang still stands out to me as being out of place after all these years; especially the change in morality. Also did they really have to change her character design to be more pretty. Like the whole thing when Penelope and Bentley first met was that they were disappointed how the other had lied on their online profile on how they looked with both of them being more average looking.
As much as I agree that the betrayal felt a little off I do just got to point out in reality a lot of people's minds can change in an instant. Regardless of what people have been through with others. Yes it is completely out of character but it's not out of character to change ones mind. Yes she did have a crush on sly but later on in that very same game she started having feelings for Bentley. Mostly because he saved her life either or that was a very quick decision so even though she may have been through a lot with the Cooper gang the fact that she feels Sly's morals are holding Bentley back and that he can't be the potential genius billionaire that he could be is a very logical reason to change one's mind The thing she's not considering however is that if she were to go ahead and change the timeline her and Bentley would never meet. So my biggest question is how she was going to go ahead and remedy that fact.
I do agree that while I’d still have reservations about the plot twist, having Penelope as the MAIN villain rather than another lackey would’ve bee preferred. It would’ve made the final boss fight more personal and they would’ve had more time to explain her motives.
yeah her whole change of morality can only be explained on wiki as happening between sly 3 and 4 without much reason which comes off as bad writing in opinion.
@@justinarney3050 I heard there were initially two bad guys that were cut in development and their concepts were combined into Penelope. Maybe the writers initially imagined her being forced to work for the bad guys against her will, but couldn't come up with a reason as to why Penelope wouldn't immediately turn against them so they made her evil.
As a MAJOR Sly Cooper fan, I love Thieves in Time in every aspect except for how the story and characters are, compared to the original trilogy. In the original 3, the game's writing was light-hearted but knew when to get serious, the characters cracked jokes with each other to show they were friends but when shit got real, they got serious too. It makes them feel more like real people (or anthro... whatever) and that's part of what I love about the games. 4 just kind of... doesn't do that. The characters are joking almost all the time, it's too much. Also, minor plothole that bothers me, but Sly's ancestors shouldn't know about all of Sly's moves. Like, Rioichi shouldn't know the rail walk or slide, since those moves were developed long after his time. That lack of attention to detail also hurts the game a bit in my opinion
Imo it's an amazing sly game gameplay wise. They really understood what made sly great. Story wise however it was a complete mess. I really hate some of the twists and turns they made like Penelope and THAT FREAKIN ENDING just for the shock factor. I kinda wished they had dropped Sly's character and made something new cause I felt his story was finished with 3
Totally agree. The game is good but it's not a best and not what we were waiting for, but I think for the team that didn't even make the original 3 they did fine. For the ancestors somehow knowing moves they shouldn't, I think this is down purely to gameplay constraints. Yes the earlier ancestors wouldn't be as skilled in such a variety of moves, but that would make them less fun to play. They could have given them more moves unique to themselves, though I can't think of many that wouldn't be really weird. Bob being able to claw up walls is something totally unique to his... size, for example. Or we can assume Sly just taught them how to do all the moves.
Honestly I agree, Thieves in Time is actually a great game. The only reason I think people can't call it a good game is because the game is overhated, and I honestly think that it isn't fair. For example, Destruction AllStars is a amazing game, but people aren't giving it enough love to start its own franchise, and I think that isn't fair because DAS has a lot of potential to be the next Twisted Metal, or even a reboot to Twisted Metal, and Thieves in Time falls in that category.
Hopefully we get a sequel someday that will tie up the loose threads in Sly 4. Especially ending up in Egypt, maybe the return to the present is going to have the timeline vastly altered, kind of like the endings to Chrono Trigger or the ending for The Day of the Tentacle.
The story had a huge miss. It missed out on having Sly time travel to when his dad hadn't been killed by the Fiendish 5. Have the father and son work together
Another huge miss is not having Clockwerk as an ever present threat since he should have been hunting down the coopers in the past. They even nod to Clockwerk with alot of Easter eggs and Sly even asks Roichi about him in one mission
@@sirmixalot38 it was like the first mission after rescuing him if I remember right. Its dialogue during the mission while running from one place to another and is technically missable. Sly asks Roichi if he's seen any strange owls or something along those lines.
I remember the clockwerk Easter eggs! Also that’s exactly what I wanted, along with Sly realizing if he stopped the fiendish 5 he would never have met Bentley and Murray so he’s gotta set time right 😭🖤
Sly's father is a missed oppurtunity, also.... time travel.. a certain mechanical owl that's been battling the coopers for generations... who you can see in the game as an easter egg.... imagine if he spotted sly in the past and realized he was from the future. That could lead to him learning he looses to Sly and wants to change his future.
@@fredriksyverstad8404 I could see it as a possibility of being the story for Sly 5; but alas, as another time traveller put it, "Multiverse theory's a bitch."
I think they should leave Sly's dad as he is; a total enigma apart from he was an amazing thief and a good dad. If we got a name and a face and personality, I don't think it would be better than the mysterious and somehow charismatic character we imagine. In regards to going back in time to save his dad, or kill Clockwerk in the cradle or something, I'd assume the good old time travelling tampering prevention mechanics come into play: you can't stop people from dying, you can't go too close to your own past, the gang probably wouldn't kill, etc etc.

I love the Sly Cooper series and I was so hyped when this came out. I'll be honest, the art style change was a bit jarring, not in a bad way, just unexpected. But I hated what they did to my girl Penelope. She was my favorite and I related to her a lot. I can sort of connect her arc a little better now that I've really thought about it, but at the time I simply couldn't understand why they had her betray all the character growth she went through in 3.
It's crazy, because I actually really love her design in this game, too. I wouldn't have even minded her being a villian if it made better sense or turned out she was the main villian somehow.
I've always hated Penelope. Annoying af and she has no reason to be in 3rd game, when Bentley had the skills to do the exact same things 2nd. 3rd and 4th have way too many characters, let me just play as Sly like in the first game.
I've heard people talk crap about this game for so long, it's refreshing to hear somebody say they like this game. Not that it's a bad thing, of course. I'm just projecting.
It's just those people who say the whole game is bad just because the story and characters are bad, meanwhile the gameplay is just fine. Fun gameplay, even
Hearing someone not trash Sly 4 is a nice surprise. Not because the game is perfect, because it's nowhere near that, but it's not a bad game. It's got problems, but it's fun enough to be worth a completion
Good review Jirard. While it's an enjoyable game, it's easily the most devisive game amoung the sly fandom. It has so much potential that could have been fulfilled, unfortunately they played it too safe than taking a risk and made some questionable choices for this game that people have issues with. The big elephant in the room is obviously Penelope's sudden heel turn. It is really abrupt and rubbed people the wrong way (myself included), especially after the events of third game. It was never hinted and was told rather very poorly why she went down this path. It's really out-of-character for her since she was truly nice and sweet to the crew, especially to Bentley. It's really mean spirited to poor Bentley as he does truly deserves the happy end after his trauma from the second game. It's really a gut punch that Bentley did not deserve. I just hope after finishing off with the expansion of ghost of tsushima, sucker punch return to the sly Cooper series. It's a return that will be most welcome.
The fact that there's a cane easter egg, armour and decals, and a whole trophy relating to Sly in GoT, I think the odds of a new game are quite a lot higher than most think.
Am I imagining things, or is that thing with Penelope the ONLY thing dividing opinion on the game? Because everywhere I go, THAT argument is constantly brought up by the haters!
@@greatsageclok-roo9013 Its not just the writing for Penelope. Its the bad character writing in general (Murray being a walking fat joke, Carmelita getting back at Sly by hitting on his ancestors, Sly being a douche to Carmelita, the characters constantly cracking lame jokes, etc). Also, the sexist tone of Sly 4 was off putting. The new designs for Carmelita and Penelope were WAY over-sexualized. Penelope was quickly discarded via a lame plot twist where she abandons her life with Bentley to be LaParadox's lapdog. And there's an entire mini-game centered around Carmelita shaking her ass. The tone is too inappropriate for kids. But too immature for adults.
@@PaulieWalnuts13 Is that what you wish for or what you think of Thieves in Time? Your reply is vague. (Either that or it's obvious and I'm just stupid.)
@@MsBrendalina Also the episode villains were just unlikeable. Remember how most of the villains in Sly 1-3 at least had backstories that helped you understand, why they turned out like that? Muggshot, who was bullied and wanted to get strong, so no one ever bullies him again? Dimitri, the misunderstood artist? Don Octavio, the unfortunate Opera tenor turned mafia don, because the mafia still liked opera? The original trilogy knew how to write both sympathetic villains like those mentioned and villains that felt great to take down, like Raleigh, the bored noble turned pirate, the Comtessa or General Tsao. Thieves in times villains are bland in comparison. El Hefe is just a private contractor, Toothpick is just a bank robber with a love for cowboy movies and bad temper, The Grizz is just some street thug who wanted to replicate the one time he got lucky and Miss Decible was basically just a spoiled child turned villain after a freaky accident. It is ok, but just feels like a major letdown.
I'm happy to see Jirard is as much of a Sly fan as I am even though he got into the series way later. 3 Complete its and 1 finish it is a damn good track record. Jirard's few criticisms of this game are super valid (I'm sorry you had that bug) though I'd add a couple of my own: the mind blowing light walk skill from the end of the 3rd game only appeared once and the bosses were all too easy with their checkpoints and the fact that the final boss was mainly QTEs and extremely generous ones at that. Overall I loved 4 and hope to see 5 on the PS5.
When did the laser walking ability appear in 4? I don't remember being able to use it at all. (Which was a bit of a bummer, cause I wanted to see it get used more past 3 as well. :P )
@@bleeborg Yeah, I guess that kinda counts. I feel like that's kinda different though, cause those were like, magic beams that Miss Decibel shot out to give you something to walk on. It's not really the same as the security lasers.
Either make Penelope _thee_ villain or establish _her_ moral code better so when she does things like change sides it doesn’t feel as much like an inconsistent whiplash. Edit: _Seriously_ , this twist irked me.
Fun fact, you can actually find Clockwerk in all the various levels just overloocking the place intimidatingly. Nothing really comes of it but it is a freaky easter egg.
Every Cooper ancestor has their trademark ability, as shown in both the Sly 3 finale and throughout the entirety of Sly 4. Sly has taught himself all of these abilities, even his father’s, but he has yet to develop his own unique thief talent to pass on to future Cooper’s
Even though it’s not as good as the original trilogy, I think the game stands up. I had fun getting the platinum. Love the series so much. Hope they bring it back soon.
Just got the PS Vita version recently and being able to play Thieves In Time at work is quite amazing and the load times are actually faster Ive noticed.
I miss this game so much. I first played and completed it in (I believe) 2016, and haven’t touched it since. I hope new Sly Cooper news comes out soon.
I think perhaps if the ancestors REPLACED Sly as opposed to beside him it might have been better. Less of two Slys and more of Sly with a twist for each level
Man, I was so stoked to see this as the newest upload. Although my feelings on this game are pretty mixed (and despite not being fond of the plot and execution), it was honestly _super_ refreshing to see a mostly positive review on this and there were a lot of great points brought up too! A lot of missed opportunities - Penelope especially really did have the biggest opportunity to go big or go home, but given how she breaks out at the end, that might be a nod to her digging a deeper hole. Not a lot of Sly Cooper content left to thrive off of, so here's to hoping there's a fifth game someday!
Definitely agree with you on the Paradox stuff. The other villains are pretty underdeveloped too but at the very least they all were original and had unique motivations for their actions. Paradox is just Clockwork but less intimidating.
Ah Sly Cooper the game that brought so much spiritual successes, from Infamous to Ghost of Tsushima, but Sly Cooper is one game that I’ve my most love in the PlayStation classics. Since Sly 4 ended in a big twist. We all wanted to know when they’ll make the next Sly Cooper game.

glad you finally got to this game especially since you have a lot of valid criticism that you don't hear often hopefully we get another installment of this great game series
I played all 4 Sly Cooper games in my early years of college and had fun with them. Honor Among Thieves was my favorite amongst the trilogy. However, when I got around to Thieves in Time, I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous titles. It did feel like it was missing something. Oh, well.

Sucker Punch is probably my favorite gaming Studio. From Cooper, to Infamous, to Bandicoot, to Tsushima, I’m pretty sure they’ve never had a bad game, which is a pretty rare thing to see.
This was my first Sly Cooper game. My dad got it for me for the holidays because at the time my only Vita game was Persona 4 Golden. While the gesture was appreciated, I had no interest in the game. However, eventually 30 days passed and it was too late to return the game. So I decided I might as well try it out. And... I had a blast. Yeah, I was missing out on a lot of lore from the previous games, but I don't think too much was lost. As such, I'm probably far more optimistic about this game than a portion of long-time fans. And tbh, finding out that this was done by completely different people made me more impressed with the effort they put into the game. It felt like they were actually trying to stay true to what Sucker Punch had done. The alternate scenario you provided regarding Penelope does sound very compelling though. It's an interesting idea to explore.
Thank you Jirard for giving Sly 4 a voice of reason! It gets so much hate online that I don't feel we deserve a Sly 5bh! SPOILER WARNING!!!! | How stupid was it to have Penelope as the Black Knight thing say "og Penelope, you were so stupid" TOTALLY ruined the twist I'm still angry about it! Love that she's a villain but would prefer her to be THE villain as you pointed out. Thank you man!
I recall one of the ancestors was Slytunkumpah (idk the true spelling), who helped build the Cooper Vault from Honor Among Thieves. Some say Sly going to Egypt was meant to create a stable time loop. There would be a bunch of questions regarding the theory, but it does have SOME merit, given the cutscene was secret and the location previously noted in lore.
Man I can't believe they did Penelope and Bentley like that. I really enjoyed 3 so to find out that's how the story goes for the 4th game is kinda heartbreaking for my childhood. Still more Sly Cooper is good...sure messing with the formula and gameplay would have been interesting, but considering another studio handled it they probably didn't wanna rock the boat to drastically gameplay wise.
DUDE YES I literally only know this game because my neighbor had it but I watched him beat the ENTIRE game and I was in love with sly. I seriously love this game despite never owning a PlayStation to play it on 😤
They should make a sly cooper remake/ remaster collection like how they did with crash and Spyro, I know they’re different teams or creators but it’d still be SUPER cool
Even though Thieves in Time is definitely weaker than the Sucker Punch games, it's still pretty dang good! For sure it has issues like Carmelita's lack of gameplay and the choices they made with Penelope, but it's still absolutely a fun time and I'm glad it exists!
I can see that the Penelope thing was kinda out of nowhere but idk kinda makes sense if you think that she was already kinda evil with the blow up others planes to be the best pilot, who know its probably a midlife crisis
I feel like in ancient Egypt sly will meet ancestors of course but maybe clockwork too cus if you remember in the first game of sly clockwork was in all the pages and one them was ancient Egypt so maybe sly will meet clockwork
Eight years later and im still mad they made penelope a villian. it just felt like such a punch in the face for bently after the accsident with clockwerks beak then his GF just vanishing and being voried nuts over her
I love board games and have been playing them for most of the year but if a new Sly were to come out, I would definitely play it in an instant! I can only dream.
This is literally my second favourite game of all time even though I never got to finish it lol. The disc stopped working When I was halfway into the game. When you put in the disc, it just loaded forever. Maybe I'll get to finish the game someday
I'm glad to see you actually enjoyed this entry. Sanzaru Games definitely had plenty to do to follow up on the original trilogy and I think they did a good job overall and I personally found the gameplay to be improved over 3 as it had plenty of extra characters with weirder gimmicks and less to find and collect in levels. While I understand having each ancestor feeling different or adopting the costume powers, I think that getting more Sly gameplay but with different mechanics to keep things fresh was fine to take up the majority of the gameplay. I think that a less experienced team making a full Sly game with 9 entirely different playable characters would have been unfeasible and some could have been hit or miss to play as rather than familiar but each having something new to stand out. I much prefer twists on Sly's gameplay as I think Sanzaru acknowledged that Sly segments were the best part to work off of to create new mechanics for the ancestors. It makes sense as Sly's learned his techniques from them and would work in a similar way so didn't feel I was missing out on something, rather there was more Sly gameplay with a twist. Like you said some of them worked in elements of Carmelita and Murray's gameplay as they already had that to work with when designing how to functionally make them unique but not having an entirely new gameplay style to design for a few missions. I do agree that giving a few actual missions for Carmelita, particularly in the final area or even a phase during the final boss with Sly would have given her third person shooting sections a bit more attention. Murray and Bentley are about right but there are minigames attached to them that do take focus away from the core gameplay. Most like the hacking games were fun but obviously more reasons to play as the characters and use the upgrades/unique abilities to sneak around would have been nice. Maybe there was too much variety but I think it was all mostly effective, maybe slightly more so than 3. The biggest gripes honestly were the final boss being nothing but QTEs but most gameplay segments were just as well designed and nicely paced as I would expect from the previous entries. I didn't feel the game was much shorter than 3 at least with the extra collectibles to find and variety on offer but perhaps there could have been a few more missions or making the final Paris level actually a full map to explore with a heist to set up with all the ancestors. Wanting more of what was on offer is a good problem to have. Story wise, I get that there's plenty more they could have done but there's only so much they could do within one game without getting out of hand. Without an item to go back to his dad and avoid directly messing with his own time period leading up to Sly taking over for him, teaming up with his dad might have been too conclusive of an arc and not feel as pressing to stopping the main gang who were directly overtaking ancestor's time periods and wiping away the lineage. Penelope's betrayal is a little out of the blue but if she wants Bentley to use his talents rather than helping his friends then it helps Bentley grow more having to overcome this with the help of the gang and have some personal stakes. It felt like she was always using her intellect to show off her own talents than aid her allies and actually care about them so while it was a tough twist to take, I felt more compelled to help out Bentley with his troubles especially after what he did to bail out the gang over the years. Two bright minds going against one another made more sense than Penelope being pushed to the side as Bentley 2. Maybe fans felt it wasn't earned to cut her off but she didn't really fit into the team and was already cunning enough to use her talent for nefarious means. Was she really going to be there to support the gang on the sidelines and gameplay wise wouldn't offer anything Bentley already was capable of. Nevermind the idea of her being a damsel to save not being her style. Going rouge fit IMO but everyone probably wanted the happy ending. I think the music, presentation and control is all very solid, with the same core voice cast and light hearted tone/writing with a few more serious moments, maybe leaning less on the serious side but still fine with the fact the team have to work around traveling through time and teaming up with the eccentric Sly ancestors to get the job done. Overall, I think people have fair criticism of what this game could have delivered more on or set itself more apart but as a new team, I think people were very harsh on them. I feel they delivered a new Sly game that captured the same feel of the originals but added some fun twists on new hardware that met what I wanted to see more of from the series during a time where little platformers were being made and like with other franchises could have easily not happened at all. Travelling to these distinct locations, playing as the famous thieves of old and rejoining the original gang just worked well for me and despite a few shortcomings, I'd say I like it more than 3 and feel they genuinely put a lot of time and care into it.
Thank you! I didn't like the Penelope twist, but I think she could've been a more impressive final boss than Le Paradox was. She could've easily betrayed the skunk. Also, fun fact, but the Egypt tease was actually for a cut DLC level they never got to make. There's actually A LOT of cut content regarding this game, from voiced Dimitri appearances (and maybe even playable character) to a different version of the final level.
One of my favorite series! I remember playing and just being content with what it offered, but wanted more. Fingers crossed for Sly 5 to ever be a thing!!!!
If it is? It'll likely be Asobi Team handling that. The only other dev they (currently) have with platformer experience is Insomniac, and I can't see them being comfortable doing both Ratchet AND Sly.
Finally I've been waiting for this for years, well done for finally going back to the Sly franchise and completing Sly 4: Thieves in Time, but with that in mind guys I give this review a watch it rating of... Watch All Of It! :)

Bob kinda deconfirms that. Being from the caveman era thousands of years before that.
Or to throw in a plot twist worthy of M. Night Shyamalan, Sly Cooper IS one of the ancestors in Ancient Egypt.
@@Yarharsuperpirate Known ancestor.
As in can be known.
There weren't a lot of ways to record things in those times
@@babyfreiza4377 I l like this idea and then they could have had the alternate Penelope kidnap the real one
I felt like we barely knew anything about her with 3
I do agree that while I’d still have reservations about the plot twist, having Penelope as the MAIN villain rather than another lackey would’ve bee preferred.
I kinda wished they had dropped Sly's character and made something new cause I felt his story was finished with 3
The game is floaty as fuck and the map design is horrendous. Nowhere near as good as the original trilogy.
@@Darkrai110 I don't remember Sly asking Rioichi about clockwerk. Which mission was that?
@@sirmixalot38 it was like the first mission after rescuing him if I remember right. Its dialogue during the mission while running from one place to another and is technically missable. Sly asks Roichi if he's seen any strange owls or something along those lines.
@@Darkrai110 damnnnn! That's interesting.
This story could be a great "remake"
Get Insomniac on that Gameplay. I trust them after Ratchet & Clank a Rift Apart
That should be part of the plot for Sly 5
I miss Sly cooper , definitely one of the best games I’ve ever played
Yeah, definitely next to R&C and J&D.

They effed up Penelope so bad
It's crazy, because I actually really love her design in this game, too. I wouldn't have even minded her being a villian if it made better sense or turned out she was the main villian somehow.
I've always hated Penelope. Annoying af and she has no reason to be in 3rd game, when Bentley had the skills to do the exact same things 2nd. 3rd and 4th have way too many characters, let me just play as Sly like in the first game.
I really hope the Sly 5 rumors are real, Sly Cooper on PS5 would be amazing.
Sorry dude there was only a re-release of Sly Cooper and The Thevious Raccoonus for PS5
Fun fact: in the game you can see Clockwerk occasionally through levels eyeing over the cooper family line
Yes, and is kind of creepy
"why aren't we in the 90's, hangin' with Mr. Cooper?" Ahhh, is see what you did there. That's a deep cut.
"Hanging with Mr. Cooper" absolutely needs to be the name of the level in a future game where they meet Sly's dad.
Hey! I also have autism and wanted to thank you for just getting out there and making videos, it’s inspiring to me
Good review Jirard.
@@greatsageclok-roo9013
Its not just the writing for Penelope.
I was waiting for this episode for years
I love the fact they have a back to the future reference in the opening play/instructions and loved it.
@@gamemaster468 During the Miss Decibel boss fight. That was the only time in the game where you got to use that ability.
@@bleeborg Yeah, I guess that kinda counts. I feel like that's kinda different though, cause those were like, magic beams that Miss Decibel shot out to give you something to walk on. It's not really the same as the security lasers.

Edit: _Seriously_ , this twist irked me.
Fun fact, you can actually find Clockwerk in all the various levels just overloocking the place intimidatingly. Nothing really comes of it but it is a freaky easter egg.
The slowdown time ability is such a godsend and I am frustrated I wasted so much time on those timed treasures before getting it.
I'm calling it right now, this confirms the rumors about Sly 5.
Literally my favorite video game series from my childhood, wish they made the 5th game. Heck I'd be down to play 50 more Sly games.
Finally!!! The Sly Cooper franchise gets recognized! That series (at least a few of them) was part of my childhood! 🦝❤
Every Cooper ancestor has their trademark ability, as shown in both the Sly 3 finale and throughout the entirety of Sly 4. Sly has taught himself all of these abilities, even his father’s, but he has yet to develop his own unique thief talent to pass on to future Cooper’s
Ah, one of my favorite franchises. Such a great yet severely underrated series. I hope they do a sequel or a reboot in the future.
Or even crossovers with other franchises.
While I think about it, this is probably my favourite vita game. And those collectibles are lovely.
Sly 4 is my favorite Sly Cooper game in the series. I gotta say Toothpick is my favorite boss in the series as well. Such a fun, yet short, game.
FINALLY! Somebody remembers Sly Cooper!
I'm glad more than just me and my cousin remembers it's existence
What are you talking about, nobody ever forgot

I'm just happy that Sly lives on
I think perhaps if the ancestors REPLACED Sly as opposed to beside him it might have been better.
I honestly LOVE sly cooper I remember turning on the ps3 and playing through the games with my Nan it was so fun!

I played all 4 Sly Cooper games in my early years of college and had fun with them. Honor Among Thieves was my favorite amongst the trilogy. However, when I got around to Thieves in Time, I didn't enjoy it as much as the previous titles. It did feel like it was missing something. Oh, well.

I love this game, I just wish they finished the story and did more with Carmelita

The first game mentioned another ancestor who was an engineer he could be amazing
I thought I was the only one who liked sly cooper its so beatiful to see a fanbase I never knew existed yay
I love this game so much ! I love Sly Cooper games so much !!!
I really loved this game. I can't wait for the next game to come out eventually
I seriously love this game despite never owning a PlayStation to play it on 😤
Finally someone else enjoyed Sly 4, this review was refreshing
And breathtaking.
Jirard, i've waited for this one for years. thank you
I hope that if there is ever a 5th game we might meet a "black sheep" of the family and see a Cooper that is actually a cop
They should make a sly cooper remake/ remaster collection like how they did with crash and Spyro, I know they’re different teams or creators but it’d still be SUPER cool
Nice to see Sly is still relevant. I've been waiting for Sly 5 for 8 years. Seems like a cliffhanger is the last we'll see of it :(
Even though Thieves in Time is definitely weaker than the Sucker Punch games, it's still pretty dang good!
This game is one of by favorites of the sly games I love the western level it’s just fun to run around and blast some baddies
I honestly hate what they did to Carmelita and Penelope in this game
Its like Sanzaru was actively trying to alienate female fans and scare them away from playing Sly 4.
Seriously, it's embarrassingly bad what they did to both of them
Glad I discovered this channel. I'm a big Sly fan and was surprised you did this one...Now do Jak 3.
The Sky Cooper and Budokai Tenkaichi game are my entire childhood
Never heard of Sky Cooper. Wonder if it’s as good as SLY Cooper.
One of my favorite series! I remember playing and just being content with what it offered, but wanted more. Fingers crossed for Sly 5 to ever be a thing!!!!
4 was already a let down... Let's leave it as it is. Look what they've done to ratchet, loll
If it is? It'll likely be Asobi Team handling that. The only other dev they (currently) have with platformer experience is Insomniac, and I can't see them being comfortable doing both Ratchet AND Sly.
@@Volvagia1927 And yet in _Rift Apart_ one of the dimensions that had been explored with the Dimensionator was stated to be Sly's world.
Finally I've been waiting for this for years, well done for finally going back to the Sly franchise and completing Sly 4: Thieves in Time, but with that in mind guys I give this review a watch it rating of... Watch All Of It! :)
I just got the sly funko pop yesterday and it brought back so many memories. I search up to game to look back at it and I see this video 2 days ago. Epic
I appreciate you saying you’re not above finding a cartoon fox hot
God, my favorite childhood series. I haven’t tried this game but I really do, most likely by PSP vita once.
Finally i have been waiting for this video for almost two years
i have no idea what it is, but whenever the completionist makes a video about a game it makes me want to play that game so much, i get super hyped to play it. now THAT is insane content creation
I wish I had 100%'d this game. But... finding those clue bottles across these massive worlds was just too rough for me.
No More Heroes in the background, I have a feeling of foreshadowing.
As someone with a sly cooper half sleeve I love whenever I see sly content
At last! The wait is finally over, and I know it's going to be worth it.
Edit: I was so very right!

Excellent video!! Massive Sly fan myself, your passion for the series is excellent!
YESSIR My favorite video game series from the 2000's
Been a while since I saw one of your videos. LOVE the new intro! Feels like what would play over a movie climax!
Finally! I’ve waited for you to complete this game!
Jirard, I LOVE your intros. They're always badass and give me chills. Love you vids as always! 💙
We really need a modern Sly cooper game. I miss the hell out of every last one of them.
One of my childhood games. Love it. Thank you so so much
