Dude this so much sense!! I started learning HTML, CSS and Javascript off Udemy courses at the start of July and I went HARD for 2 months. Then I felt a complete drop in motivation and thats when I realised i took zero rest days for the past 2 months. I took a 1 week break from coding but I just wanted to learn something else for a change lol. That's when i decided to learn about stock investing and honestly, learning something other than code felt like a breath of fresh air. I made the same mistake with stocks as well cause i went hard reading books about stocks and i got bored of that aswell HAHAHA. Now im back to coding but yeah, I need to chill out and be more balanced like you said!
Lifesaver! I'm going through the Odin Project now and am recovering from burnout when I was maxing out all of my time in javascript. That analogy perfectly captures it. Keeping things consistent with time of study and leisure is definitely something I'm working on now. Thank you!
Man I can relate. I get so motivated to learn code and I’ve gotten to a place where I was working my regular job, being a family man, then coding non stop. After a while, it gets discouraging and then I’d find my 1-2 day breaks turn into 1-2 months and it’s a dangerous cycle for a self taught developer. A part of it comes from the fear of being left behind so I’ve rushed through things instead of taking my time and getting comfortable with what I know before moving on to the next thing. Thanks for the video
Wow this is amazing, thanks alot bro. There's actually some neuroscience here, anna lembke in her book and some podcast's talks about something very similar.
Ahah excellent explanation! I've hit that condition of burnout a few times and now, I'm trying to balance as you said, leisure activities with learning and grinding activities. Keep up the great work 😉

Yea learning how to go at YOUR pace is an art and takes practice. Stay consistent and you can do it!
I never heard someone explain about burnout with a pendulum example but it's a really good way to explain.
Wow this is amazing, thanks alot bro.

Hey, how much custom CSS do you write at work? thoughts on frameworks like bootstrap and tailwind?
I use a mix of bootstrap and CSS, and I use them a ton!
