💯 mate! Willocks impact has dropped & was way below what Anderson was producing as was Longstaffs. There can be only one factor that's kept them both at the club & that's the manager imo. The board wouldn't care & would sell anyone they thought they could.
@@EverMoreNUFCI agree mate. I think this is the problem with English managers. When you look at all the foreign managers especially at the top clubs they all have that big egos they don’t have room for nice lads. Tell ya what as well we missed trick with not getting Bryan Mbeumo in the summer. I think we’d probably be at the top if we’d just went and got him. Just don’t understand how the likes of you guys and your subs could all see he’d be ideal for us but the club couldn’t.
I think you're right - combo of stuff. Might be a different style of player to what Howe coaches (Arsenal ticki taka isn't really the same as Howes forever geigen press...), keeps getting injured by being forcibly turned into a marauder instead of a baller, and yeah we bought 2 left wingers and messed up the jeolinton willock combo - they were both class at either left wing or left centre mid and had full backs battered. Shame, think you're right he's probs getting replaced like.
It’s not just Willock. There’s regression running rampant in the squad, players who until very recently looked dynamic and progressive look predictable and stale now. I’m so dispirited by the direction of travel this season, I am struggling to find the joy.
Perfectly put pal. Completely disillusioned with things at the moment. Not looking forward to games. Look forward even less to transfer windows. Uninspiring, nonsensical signings. Feels like we've taken giant steps backwards recently
I hear what you're saying about left footed players playing on the right Chris... I think it only works when you have players who have that certain quality to turn defenders inside out. Ironically, Saint-Maximain was that very type of player. Funny enough you'll notice in the era where left footed players play on the right, quality crosses have gone down with the exception of the modern full-backs, and you'll see that the age of strikers with the ability of Ferdinand/Shearer/Ferguson headers have also declined
Must admit I had high hopes when Willock came back from injury, however he hasn’t produced. Looks as though he’s lacking confidence at the moment and I hope he comes through it as there is a decent player in there I think.
I agree with what you are saying about "wingers", Chris, but what has bugged me for all my years are these overpaid footie players who cannot kick the ball with both feet! I'm going back to my school days 60 years ago, and the hours I spent trying to get in the school team, by practicing to dribble and pass/cross the ball right and left footed.
Whole team's regressed for me. Something just isn't right this season. To think, we completely blew PSG away not long ago, now we're struggling against virtually everybody this season.
I thought Newcastle at his peak considering the players they have would have a midfield with Willock, Guimarães and Tonali. I was hoping and praying we could use Joe as SOS help for the attack that we so dearly need, that is for sure. We are all disappointed with our performances..been awful to watch
I also think a few players might think howe gets the best out of players for about 18 months, and then the whole squad becomes injury prone and fucks their careers up, a la Wilson and Bournemouth players. He might be waiting for a move himself.
He was a goal scoring dynamo, Howe has sapped the life out of him as he has all out attacking players, he insists they all have to subscribe to his rigid 433 footballing North Korea, the same thing has happened to bruno, the spark has gone, he’s looked so spectacularly average this season it’s scary, and then there’s maxy, one of our best players and it’s clear from day one Howe was working on selling him, not the bang average likes of longstaff and Murphy, no, Allan st maximin, NUFC box office, because Howe doesn’t like maverick players, they have to sign up to his boring unchanging tactics, tindall probably had to have the Valium on hand for the boss every time ASM was playing. All these questions about players, form, ambition… all roads lead in one direction, and not to Rome!
he realy over rate mouch stil rate from hes loan spell ther all thing he dide went in goal, but sinces not done that, dide ok the season we finish 4 but that season him and J7 play toghter as LCM and LW and cover each other, he realy as bad as finisher as Longstaff come to so many chance but dont even hit goal, should has be sold in summer, but club refused sell players, and that is or problem becuse then we can not buy players in.
Yes, a few reasons. Mainly injuries and that left side with Joelinton now redundant too. He is still fast as fuck though. I’d try to reinvent him as the right sided player. Nothing to lose as way better than Miggy and Murphy
I’m starting to become very suspicious of these few players that were smashing it not so long ago, now can’t seem to run a few yards at any kind of speed now. Nevermind owt else. Then this talk coming out about Isak. I just think there’s a few that doesn’t want to be here anymore. Injury excuses can only go so far. If not then it’s coaching. These are super fit people. Somethings off
I don't think it would be hard at all to sell Joe willock. I just don't think this is all his fault. He never knows when he's going to start. Like you, I don't think eddie howe has managed him properly. But that's one of eddie Howes, imo, biggest downfalls . His game management is very questionable... Edit: i must say, joe willock is 🔥 on his day...
Miggy willock Murphy wilson longstaff should have all been gone long ago there no good just because there nice eddie is making some massive mistakes keeping these players
rember eddie want Dumett and Ritchie to stay to dint want to late them go, i think time to say Eddie has no say of we sell or late go more becuse we ned trade players for PSR and to move forward, problem is we now will ned sell 1 of the big players if not 2 next summer to rebuild make squar stronger,, we has fail transfer last summer and this summer, lucky if get 7 places agin this season.
@@anderswillestofte9376problem is the players no one wants them we probably will have to sell a top player. Who goes . Because the players I mentioned ain’t worth much.
e never had Willock anything more than a squad player even when he score all those on ljan goals. i told anyone who would listen that tbe goals would inevitably dry up (he'd never had a goal streak like that b4 - or sadly since) reminded me of David Platt and Dele Ali - when he did not you never seen or noticed him playing - all about scoring ... Joe rarely looks like scoring these days i guess his poor firness players a part but even if he returned to full fitness thats looks like a big if) he wouldnt be in Toon 1st 11
Sammy szmodics scored 33 goals last season for Blackburn Osalu has scored 8 goals in over 50 appearances since 2021 for Sheffield Utd and Derby and who do we sign😂😂😂😂
He has definitely regressed as have all the bang-average players who became great players, for a season, and have now become bang-average again, bar big Joelinton
I've said for 2yrs we should sell willock he's finished far too injury prone. At least him and wilson can have wheelchair races in the treatment room whilst on 100k a week, by it's a hard life poor little soldiers.
I hate his attitude he is the softest player I’ve ever seen so light on press never goes for a duel , lazy He is the worst player we have I will take Longstaff or Miley over him any day I really hate how he has become afraid of every duel probably due to injury we need to sell ASAP
Makes the Anderson sale even harder to bare

Watch him flourish like Wood did when he leaves the Toon .
Players can develop a fear of going all out when they have had injuries.

It’s hard to see him coming back to top form with the amount of game time we can afford to give him… a shame as I really the player.
Always a great listen..helps my fat ass get through the stairmaster
You're welcome mate 😂👍
I could not agree more with you about the ruination of the winger in the modern game.
However should play Willock wide right to get games under his belt.Nowt to do with coaching.

Agreed 👍
They got Dan Burn arriving in the box now and buggering it up !
Iv never rated him don’t do enough graft for me …. Toon Army

I keep saying try him on the right wing,he did really well at right wing for arsenal with goals and assists.
He was class against Chelsea in the cup.... apart from the tap in he sent to the moon from 2 yards out 🤣
Howe needs to get him in his right position & he needs to stay fit. If both can happen he'll be back to the key player for us we know & love.
