I ended up doing the Heavy cream, butter, cinnamon and brown sugar mixture. I added some caboni cinnamon cake creamer too. I added a little of the extra mixture to my icing and omg it’s so bomb!
I can see how yeast-raised rolls (Rhodes) would work better in this recipe than baking powder/baking soda raised rolls (Pillsbury). "Quick breads" like the Pillsbury rolls are usually more dense than yeast-raised breads and rolls. This is because the gluten is not developed in a quick bread like it is in a yeast bread. It sounds like the cream improves both types of rolls, though. ~ Anastacia in Cleveland
Yeah , I thought the Grands texture was really dough-y, and I didn’t care for the texture very much. The Rhodes were pretty fluffy and lighter and I liked that better.
Thank you so much for the insights! We love yeast breads over here by far! I will find these for next time! ❤
Wait that is actually really good I like how it is so fluffy cinnamon rolls it kinda has a name from hello kitty it cinnamon roll and I
Think you can make your own
BEST DINNER ROLLS AS WELL HUGE HIT FOR XMAS & THANKSGIVING
Where I’m from the Rhodes cinnamon rolls are the easiest to get at multiple stores because the Grands are being sold out! So I’m using the Rhodes. I prefer those over the Grands which were kind of dense. The Rhodes were lighter and fluffier!
Great news to hear!
Thanks for this hack, I can't wait to try! ☺️
Of course, enjoy Diane!
They look amazing
I agree that the icings that come with cinnamon rolls are too sweet. I do like a cream cheese frosting.
The cream cheese definitely balances the flavors out!
I ALWAYS TAKE 2 FROZ ROLLS PUT IN EACH CUPCAKE SLOT LET RISE AND THEY ARE HUGE!! BAKE AND OMG
Kroger also carries the rides cinnamon and dinner rolls. I like the putting everything to get her and pouring it over it...thanks for that.
I'ma attempt to do the Rhodes in a king cake. Im from Louisiana, 45 mins from New Orleans. I'm so used to eating king cakes they never really taste that great to me anymore. I'm wondering if I can make a king cake out of these. Do a braid. I'ma figure it out.
So you don’t use any butter? That’s interesting. What does it change or did you do it both ways to test it?
i get the icing thing, especially when store bought it can be way too sweet
Man I'm so hungry
I want those rolls
Make em! It's worth it :)
I loved your video, new subscriber you are a charm I follow you from Mexico City.
What size is the baking dish that you used ?
I just watched your video using the frozen rolls can you put the cream on them in the morning when you take them out of the fridge and let them rise on the counter ? Then bake them. Thanks
Thanks for watching! I'd imagine that would work as well. :)
Thank you I will try that
You will have a mill subs by the end of the year
hahah honored, Hunter!
Great job! Thanks for these tips!!! I live in the Bay Area too. I discovered Rhodes (by accident) last year. They are surprisingly good and easy-to-make. Also: I live in Palo Alto. We don't have many Wal-Mart stores nearby (and the small Wal-Mart in Mountain View is hit-or-miss in terms of availability). However, I've actually found them at some other stores. There is a Lucky supermarket on West 84 in Redwood City that seems to have them all of the time.
Thanks Chris! You're right, it's hard to come by large Walmarts in this area. Thanks for sharing that supermarket recommendation. I have to check it out!
This kinda feels like a school project video ahha but I like ot
I never heard of that Jack but thank you very much!! I actually have some Rhodes in the fridge for overnight, so tomorrow I will be baking. Definitely trying this hack next time! But I can tell Rhodes has to be better than the gross and chemical tasting Pillsbury or the other brand rolls 🤢
Yes agreed, the Rhodes flavor is definitely superior to other brands!
Will half and half work?
THE BEST WALMART
I'm really spoiled. My wife makes cinnamon rolls from scratch. She uses a recipe handed down from my Mother. (Kneading the dough, let it rise, punch it down etc. ). But they are oh so good!!
Please share the recipe if you don't mind. Thank you in advance.
I like nuts in mine and sometimes raisins
I’m the same way with the icing😂
I only have half and half so I wonder if anyone’s tried to make the cinnamon rolls successfully with half and half.
I have not used half and half, but I have heard a rumor that flavored coffee creamer works, especially original or vanilla (it adds more sugar though).
Thanks for sharing
i don’t like frosting or icing on cinnamon rolls in general bc it’s way too sweet…….. ok yes i’m asian but still 😭
I don’t care for cream cheese as an icing.
Adding cinnamon to the heavy cream is like adding soy sauce to the rice in a rice cooker.
I did this crap… Oh my God learn how to make homemade nothing tastes as well as homemade soggy cinnamon rolls
