- Amy has the pleasure of getting a first look at Canon's brand new entries into the APS-C market. The Canon EOS R7 and Canon EOS R10 offer a range of features that are fit to suit all levels of users. But it doesn't stop there. Canon has also released two dedicated APS-C lenses which - you guessed it - Amy was lucky enough to test out while out on location.

What’s with the horrendous CA and cyan across the entire image when shooting video?
Nice, very nice that Canon included 10bit capabilities with these! Now I wondering if the recording time limitation can be removed from my R6 via firmware! Canon proved with the R7 & R10 we can record time unlimited! Thanks!
I remember when Canon first brought out the EOS R they kind of made it clear they were moving into the premium market ONLY with the mirrorless EOS R mount. What I think changed their minds was Nikons Z50 and how popular its been, I'm really glad to see the R7 has 2 (yes 2) UHS II card slots though I think Sony's multi-card slot is the way to go.
This release has certainly made the R system way more accessible which we think is a good thing! 2 card slots is a must for a lot of people out there now, so we were glad to see that too. Thanks for watching - Amy
@@WexPhotoVideo I think I might be upgrading to the R7 from my Fuji because their X-H2 (and X-H2S) will be to expensive for my needs and 32MP is more than enough.
03:00 Canon website says it IS made out of Magnesium alloy... unless your just mentioning it doesn't feel like that as in weight
I’m excited for the R7 but a little disappointed in the weather sealing especially as it’s a step down from my 7D ii
Sealing is down a bit I THINK... however according to Canon's website it is made out of an I quote "Primarily consists of a magnesium alloy and high-strength engineering plastic"

Question (maybe for the in-depth R7 review?) Could you test it with older EF glass? If I'm selfish I'd request the EF400mm f/5.6. Thanks!
Great video, probably one of the most informative of the R7 reviews. I ordered on the 24th at 07:30 so hopefully I will get to play soon. Trying to not let my poor old 7D2 know or it may throw a hissy fit and stop working.
I feel like they could’ve made the camera body smaller. It’s a mirrorless system. One of the pros of it is how compact they can be. Even the full frame RP is smaller.
The moviemaking features on it - Are we going to be able to adjust by shutter angle as well? This is one important area which would make it easier for filmmakers.

When you do some more reviews of the R7, can you please check how it works with non-canon lenses with the Mount Adapter EF-EOS R. I am considering buying this body to use with my Sigma 150-600 C.

How about using Canon R10 with Canon RF 100-500mm?
Good review. But what's with the major cyan/ "chromatic aberration" in the videos? Is that just a post processing error? Not the cameras?
The R7 could possibly be the model that persuaded me to take the leap into the dark side of mirrorless! I currently have an 80D (purchased as soon as released in the UK) & I absolutely love it, I was considering an upgrade to a FF DSLR maybe a 5Div or a 1DX ii, but realistically the future is mirrorless.
I am predominantly a wildlife photographer, (hobbyist not professional); & the 80D has been a brilliant tool & I have learnt my way around it over the last 4 or 5 years. The R7 on first impressions looks really good, & beats the 80D on resolution, FPS & hopefully low light high ISO performance?
A couple of questions, obviously the first is : Any idea when the UK release date is for the R7?
Secondly, I see no mention of how many focus points the R7 has, how many are dual pixel, cross type & what AF groups are available?
Lastly, is a battery grip available, or will the BG-11 (80/90D) one be compatible with the R7?

I really like the look of the R7. How would you rate it compared to the 7Dmkii for wildlife? Is it the natural successor?
Great initial review - ive been squeezing every last drop I can out of my 8 year old APSC Canon 700D and been on the verge of upgrading to canon 90D as my lenses just fit without adaptor etc - the R7 looks superior especially for video work, but I wonder how much more crop the EF-EOS R adaptor will add and whether Im better off sticking with Canon 90D and saving a few hundred quid?
There is no crop to get an EF adapter

I had someone comment that using EF and EF-S lenses will produce inferior results on R7 but while I suspect L series glass would be lovely to have and beyond my budget im confident that EF and EF-S lenses will do a great job but Im all ears to anyone that has any points around this to add!

@@WexPhotoVideo yeah the WTT and Chichester canal are 2 of my top 5 places in sussex to visit with the camera. I'm almost.... tempted to look into that R10 and see how it compares to my Sony A6400 as a rival! You have me thinking now Amy and that's not good.. it could be expensive
Will there be a review using 100-400 zoom? Will I see a big change in photos compared to Sony RX 10iv for birds esp birds in flight?
Is There 4K Apature Video Mode?
Can we see more images with the kit lenses please? Most of the time on the video you appeared to be using much better quality telephoto lenses.

Loved the 7dmk2 now I have a R6 but thinking of ditching it for the R7 for birding and get a pre owned full frame dslr with the change for landscapes for birding do you class the R7 as an upgrade on the R6 ?

In both the Canon R7 and Canon R10 do you get a Neutral picture profile
Does the R7 have shutter angle as an option when in video mode?

Hey there, I'm sure they do but nothing that they'll communicate externally that we've seen. I'd be amazed if we don't see more RF-S lenses, but no sign of anything yet. Fingers crossed for more! Thanks for watching - Amy

@@WexPhotoVideo thank you for the preview! Very interesting products. The lenses look like old M series lenses with a new mount part. I hope they will also come up with an adapter to use the M series lenses on the new cameras. Otherwise many M users will be disappointed. I love my M6ii but it could definitely use internal stabilization.
