My father played with one of those in the 1970s/80s. Metal/graphite are very recent when compared to the age of the sport.

Depends on the material of the corset. The corsets in which you would do exercise in, were made with lighter boning and material but still maintaining the fashionable shape!

I can complain about one thing about the sports bras: they could've gone into better detail and showed the variation in sports bras for the 1960s-1980s. There was differentiation in how the materials were cut, even if the variety was less than what we see today.

ray of sunshine nah they didn’t need to time-lapse the makeup part. They could have spent more time showing a variety of exercises women and girls did or talking about physical health ideals of the era.

Of course I wondered what athletic women would have worn in the past for support. I also know a lot of people didn't like the idea of jogging.
Ha most women were not supposed to do any thing athletic. They were considered manly if they did so they either made their own or they didn't.

One of the hardest thing about me transitioning was trying to find bras that fit and where wearable for everyday.Manufacturers need to step up their game.

Traditional bras can be tough to get used to, that's for sure! I don't mind them so much, but I've had many years to get used to it. Hopefully you find something you like soon.
Same with me, but with binders. They don't make binders for people my size. I have a tiny frame and a double d chest and it is very difficult to bind
You gotta go get professionally fitted. Not go to Victoria's Secret, a real expert. It will change your life, not even exaggerating
@@jaxxencheney you can't bind DDs. That's literally 20 lbs of muscle and fat you're trying to make go somewhere there is no where to go. That's like my fat self trying to fit in a size 10

I loved the 1940's bra and the 2000s bra. For the 1940's, a young lady whose hairstyle is so magnificent for a woman to be curvy and the 2000s, this is the perfect model who is a lady with red hair and sometimes, so cute to wear this bra for anything! : )

The 2010's outfit is truly amazing. Lululemon leggings and a Lululemon free to be wild sports bra, a timeless look that continues to today.
I don't know anything other than a sports bra lol , I've been wearing sports bra since the first time I wore a bra and I don't think it's ever gonna change now.

Haha, no. I could never, ever wear a strapless bra for any type of workout. That's awful, and I am very sorry for any woman who had to deal with that in the '50s.
I feel like the matching set aesthetic they listed for 2010 is wrong. I think that’s more of a recent trend. I think (I will admit I was only 13) that the 2010 trend would have been long cami exercise shirts with built in sports bras. The 10’s were all about long layered camis and I think that influenced athletic wear too?
It bothers me that for the 50's & 60's they used modern bras/shapewear. I stopped watching after that. The stuff back then looks nothing like our modern spandex bandeaus or "corsets".
