    Hey Ali I just got done installing this JL taser mini on my 392 wrangler I only got it for the rear wheel drive option and I downloaded the latest firmware and I don’t see anywhere scrolling through the settings with the buttons on my steering wheel where it says forced rear wheel drive. did they give me the wrong module or something? I don’t have that as an option anywhere

      What year is your 392? The only thing that I can think of is that you have a 24 model. They are still rolling out beta software for that. I actually just picked up a 24 392 last week and downloaded the beta software this morning. I’m going to try to install it over the next few days and see if there’s anything different about accessing the force RWD feature. It should be there.

      @@Ali_Mansour_Editor no it’s 2022 and sorry to bother you for no reason. I finished setting my tire size and turning off all of the annoying lights on the dash and until you start the vehicle with the engine running forest rear wheel drive is not an option until you started in the engine is on. I thought it just popped up after “Perf” or something but how do you take traction and stability control off completely with this module ?

      If you want to completely turn off all of the electronic control nannies, just hold down the traction control button for 10 seconds. You’ll see an ABS light and brake light come up along with some trash control lights. That’s gonna let you know everything is disabled. It actually defaults to 2WD when you do this. So, if you do this in 4hi or 4Low, you will need to tap the traction control button twice to reengage the clutch pack.

      @@Ali_Mansour_Editor okay do I hold traction control on while the truck is running or off with the auxiliaries on ?

      The Jeep has to be running. It’s considered a live feature. So that means the Tazer has to be plugged in and the vehicle running.

    So I just ordered the one piece RCV’s the ones that you have, do I HAVE to select that FAD is gone now ? Will it throw a code on my dash if I do t have the JLTazer mini yet ?

      You don’t have to. The motor will just move the fork back and forth as you swap between two and four-wheel drive. The Tazer just turns off the motor permanently.

      @@Ali_Mansour_Editor do I have to update the tazer mini when I get it new before install ? All I really need it for is 2wd. And when I am in rear wheel drive, If I need 4Hi while driving in 2wd; can I simply shift it into 4Hi like normal and it will be in 4Hi? Also if I want to go back to 2wd from 4Hi can I just put it back to 4auto and it’ll be in 2wd drive ? Sorry about the questions

      You always want to update the Tazer with the latest software. That’s just good practice to keep you from accidentally getting a potentially glitchy firmware. If you’re transfer case has 4Auto feature, I’m guessing you have a 3022 case. You can actually make it where you can toggle back-and-forth between 2WD and 4Auto on the steering wheel. Just make sure you’re at a complete stop before you do it.

      @@Ali_Mansour_Editor yes the mp3022 in a 22 JL392 non xr. Do I have to Download software to update the tazer , before install ? And so what will happen if your in 2wheel drive in 4auto and then shift it to 4high with the lever ? Will it engage ?

      It’ll come with a cord to plug in your computer. Just download the software from Z automotive. They have a Windows app. Just hit update firmware and it’ll find the latest one. In terms of switching back-and-forth, I always put it back in 4auto before you shifting it into four-wheel-drive.

    Are you sure that is the correct way to enter tire size? I've seen a lot of people say whatever the size on the tire wall is just input that, meaning if it's 35 enter 35.

    • @Ali_Mansour_Editor
      @Ali_Mansour_Editor  4 месяца назад

      I’m 100% sure that is the correct way. In fact, if you want to double check that before you ever enter your tire size, go into that menu, and you will see that from the factory they input it the measured size of the tire, not what the sidewall states. I’ve installed a lot of these over the years. You definitely want to do it based off the measurement, not what the sidewall states.

      It does seem complicated at first. However, once you get used to navigating it, it's pretty easy.
