I love that diner it looks so cool
it was epic.
Even though it looks basic on the outside, the inside looks neat!
it was overpriced.
Congrats On 93K!
Thank you so much 😀
Great hotel tour
Thanks!
Looks like a nice, clean property... I like!
It was nice but pricey.
Here’s something cool I live next to the railroad except it’s called the Portsmouth Sub division
Nice hotel tour
Thanks!
I know where this is at, I've driven through that area a few times. That stretch of I-64 from Beckley to Lexington is one of the more barren stretches of highway in terms of amenities/rest stops I've been on. So I get why they'd charge that much, but still not worth the price. But there are some great scenic views in that area!
definitely looks interesting but for hotel that is built in 2008-2009 i can't complain, but the diner next to the Travelodge looks so retro despite it being built in 2008-2009.
It was ok
A very nice hotel with extra quality
It was over priced
Excellent tour!!! I love how you made this tour like your old ones where you gave a thorough look around the hotel's amenities before just going straight to the room like in a lot of your newer ones. IMO this the way to do a hotel tour and I got a lot of nostalgia watching this as I used to watch your old ones a lot as a kid.
I also love how you made this a proper review in addition to showing around the hotel!
IMO this seems like a pretty solid hotel, and I wouldn't mind staying here, but $150 is WAY too much for a place like this! This would be a great place to stay for $50-75 a night.
I’ll be doing more like this Also the price was outrageous but one of the only hotels in the area. The bed sucked.
Agree my favorite type of hotel tour too.
Oh by the way The Elevators in NYC that used to be a miconic 10 that you used to ride it But now it’s Schindler port
I just realized I've never stayed a Travelodge.
Decent place, but yeah, not for $150 which seemed really pricey for a place with few amenities, even appearing to have done away with its pool (pity; pools nice can be nice to relax in after a long trip). Seems more like maybe $90 for a clean but no frills and amenity scant location.
The question, does the railroad pay for is workers to stay at these hotels or is it up for the workers to pay?
Great
Thanks!
Hey 👋how do 2 know when you're in for it
Nice hotel 👍
thanks!
This is a nice place
it was decent.
Nice hotel
Yes it was!
$150, for that? What a joke!
WAY too much.
This room has a fridge a microwave coffee maker coffee and an ice bucket with cups
Yep
nice!
thanks!
@@DieselDucy your welcome
@@DieselDucy run the ns trains good!
I believe that this might have been an Oak Tree Inn because i remember them having a Penny's Diner at every location.
possibly.
Me too!!
it was okay.
this is a nice hotel
It was interesting
@@DieselDucy you're in room 115
why did the hotel got lockers
I have a question what exactly is a railroad Hotel, what does that mean?
it's where the railroad employees sleep between assignments.
a place that the railroad contracts for its employees.
Is this a public hotel, or is it railroad staff only
it is for anyone but the railroad contracts here as well.
Do you work for CSX now or Norfolk Southern still?
NS
Hello Dieselducy
hey there!
Good morning @@DieselDucy
Given the price you paid here, I think you were ripped off. After looking at average pricing here it is in the lower 100s, though for that price, they should at least provide a spotless room, a bed with a blanket or down comforter in the bed rather than the closet, and generally newer decor is preferred too. That room I think is more worth $50-$75, but not near the 100s. I will say the layout here is pretty weird, but I would not stay here given I am sure for the same price you could get something a bit better in the area.
Hotels rates will fluctuate several times in a single day. Once one hotel in town goes up in price the rest pretty much follow suit for the day.
it was WAY too expensive.
I’m so early
awesome!
Have you ever stayed at a Norfolk Southern Railroad hotel?
Every other day
Any elevators there?
no. one requirement for railroad employment is being able to walk up and down steps.
none.
No eleavator but there only one staircase that goes 1 floor up
Nice hotel tour. This hotel looks clean but it should definitely not be that expensive.
Yeah it was way overpriced
No Elevator There.
those who need an elevator can't work on a railroad. dieselducy mentioned that in a earlier video.
nope!
Room 115 Tour 3:50
Yep
Who else came here from the YTP?
Alright for a budget hotel but definitely not worth $150. Worth more like $50-$60
It was decent not worth the price though.
@@DieselDucy For sure
Oyo Hotel in Columbia SC
They are crappy.
Have a hotel tour here in Columbia SC in 2022
