    I forgot to mention the VorpX Software Costs $40. But think of it like buying a game like Skyrim VR when you already own 2 copies of the flat version. This software works on a wide range of games. If you'd like me to show another game in VR let me know.

    As I noob here, I finally able to get ACE 7 going like the one shown on youtubes. (Just played the 2nd mission. this is about 70% of PSVR version in terms of VR)
    There maybe better way, but it took me 2 days to get it going. I am using Quest Link to PC.
    1)Play the game on 2D monitor and get thru 1st mission so you get the free 1st mission, which you can use to test your setting while setting things up.
    2)I had to keep the keyboard, gamepad, and touch controller handy nearby to navigate when one controller cant control certain aspect of the menu.
    3)Setup FOV using Hex: (Vorpx does not have this function for this game)
    www.reddit.com/r/acecombat/comments/cjyp89/psa_how_to_change_fov_in_ace_combat_7/
    Note: If you set it the first time and close the program, your hex will change but you can search again using "D8F57F" then highlight the hex before it, the value will show up again and you can change it. Just read thru it, the poster done a great job there. My is set to 0.013 and save it.
    4)Set up your Vorpx Menu
    ruclips.net/video/Dqg3w6bIeKo/видео.html
    Simple setup (My slight variation to poster)
    1. Download cloud game profile "ACE COMBAT (REDDIT)" VorpX
    2. Apply game profile and run VorpX
    3. Run Ace combat.
    5. Set ingame setting, "Mouse aircraft/camera control" to "On" under "Option>>>Mouse".
    6. Open in-game VorpX menu: "DEL" key.
    7. Adjust Head tracking to around ".30"
    8. Adjust Image zoom to around ".75"
    9. Set Control to "Gamepad" not "KB"(Default)
    10. Save and Close
    NOTE:
    a. You will need to familiarize (trial and error) how to navigate using gamepad, touch controller, keyboard to get thru the steps.
    b. I did not have to PERMANENTLY KEEP "LAlt" pressed, the head tracking works using gamepad. If you are using touch controller you may need to. I have other problem with touch controller (I can't pitch up and down), so I use gamepad.
    Note: I found both gamepad and touch controller can't navigate thru all the menus whether it is vorpx menu or in game menu so you may need the keyboard from time to time.
    5)
    You should able to game with gamepad, but I need to use touch controller to EDGE PEEK.
    You maybe need to restart few times as navigation can be a bitaach, just close the vorpx and the game, yah take off your headset included and restart etc.
    Good Luck!
    I hope Computer Savy guys here should write Simple Guide for Noobs here more often.

    The Vorpx in-game menu said full VR is on. I have never got a full VR game to work in Vorpx except for a Lucas art Jedi Knight FPS and it was not so good. I like Vorpx in G3D in cinema mode. Good sense of 3D with head tracking on a cinema screen. It is like watching a 3D movie on a large movie screen and being in control. Not a bad experience in many driving games. Vorpx falls flat if the game like many does not support true 3d. G3D stereo is best. Otherwise, it is like watching a large screen movie with poor eyesight since the VR has lower resolution than most monitors. True VR 360 deg is rare in Vorpx and is only good for some who do not notice the problems they are seeing like head tracking that is not perfectly in sync and size scale being off things like that.

    I'd love to see your attempts at this. Please, if you record some gameplay post some links in this comment thread. I used OBS.
    I sold my Rift to get the new one. But I never got around to ordering it. xD

    Does the game have any real vr depth of field or am i just playing on a giant flat screen with head tracking? Cause ive got a valve index with vorpx and i can get the game running but its just flat. I'm not interested if there's no depth of field which is the entire reason I bought vorpx but ive never seen anything run with any real depth of field.

      All VorpX does is put your screen in front of your eyes. As well as links head movement to mouse movement. So in-game the camera can't move from it's original fixed position. I doubt anyone's gonna mod this either. Try Project Wingman on Steam, haven't played it in VR yet but it's still fun.
      And as far as stuff like differential focus with eye tracking add-ons, I don't expect that to be a thing for a long while. It sounds impossible to get right with current tech.

    I'm having two issues. The first is that VorpX is not rending the game in 3D on my HMD, and secondly my head movements do not move the camera along. It got it so close to working and it's frustrating that it's not working as intended. Really wish Bandai Namco just gave us full PCVR.

    All I get on my headset is a black screen, and it opens the game on my second monitor. Even if I turn off my second monitor before starting the game, it still goes to the second monitor. I get the icon on the taskbar but no game, when I turn the second monitor back on, that's where the game is opened. I don't see any options in VorpX or in game to change which screen (or device) it uses.

    How do you keep the "center" of your viewpoint from drifting elsewhere? I keep having to readjust where my "center" is.

    • @steviepii
      @steviepii  4 года назад

      Okay. Like you are looking straight, not moving your head, and the screen moves on its own.
      I would full reset, do the room setup, make sure your sensors are working properly.
      I only had similar issues in between matches where the game auto zeros at some point.
      Possibly tweak the VorpX sensitivity.
      Pardon my lateness. I had my notifications turned off.

    When I tried this I bought VorpX and followed instructions from the video however I had some problems and I was wondering if you had solutions.
    1. the camera kept locking to the center. Made it very disconcerting having to move a lot to move very little and then the reverse of that. Makes me feel very motion sick when I don't normally get that.
    2. Vertical view. I found the sensitivity was much less when I looked up or down. Any ways you know how to adjust this?
    3. Aspect ratio. I found I was either looking through a letterbox or had bits cut out from the sides. Wondering if there's anything you did for this?
    any help will be greatly appreciated, I'm annoyed I wasted money on VorpX it seems and fixing these would be great.
    I have a Vive Cosmos as my headset. Thanks

      Ik its late but the fov is prob because you screen is small like 4:3 or if your headset has a high fov then even 16:9 is too small.

    Hi, Any chance you know how to uninstall or what the default settings are?
    In my fervor to enjoy VR, I seem to have rendered the game unplayable by mistake.
    My controller now randomly jerks the view left and right, seemingly at random during normal play.

    Does not work on my Rift which the software cost $49 something. Whenever I look up or down the plane moves up and down and that is it , doesn't really work I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The game won't let me bind the left shift twice including secondary so the button will be pressed constantly down.

    Any way to get rid of the cockpit centering from the game? The head rotation kicks in after a few degrees of head movement because of this and makes me feel like puking

    Should I use a cloud profile or just run the game and Vorpx already has a profile built in?

      I don't believe VorpX has a setup for the game. But I last played a long long time ago. It may have updated.

    does vorpx run ace combat 7 in full 3D?

    • @steviepii
      @steviepii  5 лет назад

      It's putting what shows up on your monitor into your headset. It does a good job at that. Then links the head movement to mouse movement. Note that you need to keep the "hold this button to look around the cockpit" button held down to make this work right.

  • @jasonbishop1069

    is there a way to get this to work with the flight stick?

    • @steviepii
      @steviepii  4 года назад +1

      Potentially. If the keyboard and mouse are active at the same time as your flight stick setup.
      Or if there is an option to re-bind the controls on it.
      The most important thing is to hold down the key that allows you to look around with the "mouse movement" in game.

    I tried but when I raise my head and I lower the plane up and down… How do I keep it from doing that? Do we have to press the hold button while playing Thank you for your answer

    • @steviepii
      @steviepii  4 года назад

      Yes, the camera control key. Default it's set to the L-alt key, that wasn't working for me for some reason. So just pick any key that you can keep held down with some kind of weight.
