  • In this video, I am leaving Bishop, California and finally making my way to Mammoth, California. Even though I am a few days late, it was all the worth it. The ride through the lower Eastern Sierras were breath taking. It was quite grand and majestic. The lower basin halfway up the mountain was massive and took my breath away, along with the high altitude.
I could not stop yawning all the way up the mountain. I acclimated fairly quickly, but it took a good 20 hours to finally have the incessant yawning go away for the most part. I was very hungry at high altitude and ready for bed, early.
I have one more video for you coming next, for the remaining of my time in Mammoth.
The snow you see in this video was dumped the day before, from the rare bomb cyclone that hit California, primarily the central and northern part of California. The Sierras got hit really hard.
This was my first time going to Mammoth and my first time on a bike and I was solo. It was truly epic!
If you haven ever taken this trip, you must! I have a few more videos to go to finish this Eastern Sierras trip.

Great videos. Love seeing the black DRZ. In Australia we have three colours Yellow, Yellow and More Yellow as an option. I carry a 1litre fuel bottle for trips. The scenery and roads you get to ride in looks awesome 👍.

With fuel mileage WIND plays a big part as well as weight and hill climbs. I like the rule of boaters on the sea or pilots, always leave 1/3 of a tank. Never go below. That way if for some reason road was closed, had to turn back or detour have enough hopefully to make it. I got cold watching the beautiful ride. Stay warm safe and vitamin Sea.

Did you have the reserve valve turned on. That usually lets you know you are running out of gas and you can head to the gas station then

On that trip, I did not. However, my bike does not let me know know, really.
