Hey andres i have a mac book m1 pro, did you manage to plug 2 of them to to your lap? im looking to get 2 of them but i want 2 ultra wide, please let me know if you know how and ill buy them in your links. thanks
@@rootcao1360 no not really. I don't know if it helps but the ultrawide is curved so most of the screen is always about the same distance from my eyes.
I have two setups. My WFH has a dual setup of a 34 widescreen and a 27 inch mounted vertically. My gaming setup is a single 32 inch curve gaming monitor.
I have the same, it's the best, i basically have 2 lg ultrafine 4k 27inch one vertical and one horizontal I can multi-task, watch videos take meetings and do so much more, I connect my mac with it and it's on a stand and it acts as 3rd screen
I use a drawing tablet for illustration/painting, and wondered why it felt SO unnatural drawing on my ultrawide monitor compared to my normal monitor at work, then I finally figured out: Most if not all drawing tablets are made with 16:9 aspect ratio in mind... Ultrawides are at least 21:9! Due to the mapping distortions, horizontal strokes will translate slower than vertical strokes i.e. Circles I draw on my Wacom Intuos become ovals on the ultrawide... This shit bothered me so much after I noticed, that I straight up went back to my 24" lmao. Definitely something to consider if you plan on doing any digital art at all.
You can adjust the active area of the Wacom in your settings to reflect the 21:9 aspect ratio. But you do end up with a smaller active area but it should solve your problem. I usually set mine to a bit smaller than full size since the edges of Wacoms usually have issues activating the system popup menu.
After seeing the comparison, wouldn't the best way to go is just to have an ultra wide and another monitor on top? This way you get the amazing gaming experience while also being able to still full screen videos on top.
5:57 That's an easy one. Just use multiple Desktops and toggle between them. I often have at least 2-3 desktops, one dedicated for screen sharing with only the apps / folders that I want to share for daily Scrum, meetings, screen recording for documentation, etc. You can also set zones, and even crop in post-production in the latter case.
As a programmer, having a second screen in portrait mode is a complete game changer. Unfortunately, my wacom cintiq takes up wayyy too much space, so one of those monitors had to go. Once I get a dedicated illustration setup going though, I'm heading right back to the double monitor setup.
Have been using a 29" ultrawide for a year or so but I'm getting a 32" "normal" monitor and turning the ultrawide into portrait orientation for my coding workflow. 29" was too small for me, as I still was left lacking for screen real estate while working, also there was not too much media that supported the ultrawide aspect ratio, so I'd prefer to go back for now.
Switched from 2x24 inch 1080p monitors to a 34 inch ultrawide. I miss having discord or twitch full screen on the 2nd screen, but i love the look of an ultrawide especially when games and movies support it.:) i recommend buying a 2nd monitor on top of an ultrawide tor the best of both
This answered so many questions I didn't even think about and made my decision so much easier! Even a year later this video has provided valuable information to me. Thank you so much!
As someone who will soon get a gaming setup, I think dual screens is better for productivity while gaming if a have to choose one. If you're busy with your game on one screen, you can turn your head to see Discord on the other. If playing a game while it's not in fullscreen is not bothersome to you then an ultrawide would be better for you; also if you're strictly gaming with apps opened in the background if you prefer the fullscreen gaming experience. For things like producing music and even video editing (content creation), an ultrawide is ultra useful but if using one screen to edit isn't a bother, then you'll be fine with dual screens. Dual screens will also work for you if turning your head from one screen to another makes you feel sophisticated. Anyone who uses a laptop will know it's better to have two screens than one. Personally speaking, I believe you should get the best of both worlds once you can. Ultrawide dual screens will be excellent for gamers and those who work on their monitors. Thank you for the video, mate. I'll definitely come back to purchase some things from your links.
06:50 you can maximize full screen on windowed screen. Chrome.. More tools -> Create shortcut (and check 'open as window') Or just use extension "Windowed"
I went dual 27in 4K at 100% scaling. The screen real estate is unmatched, I need a lot of apps open at once… which is where having windows snap across 2 screens effectively 8 zones works perfectly.
Thanks for the useful tips. I have the iPad pro 12.9 and a LG 34” curved ultra wide monitor, productivity is my main focus and I don’t have space for dual monitors, the ultra wide was the perfect solution for me. I love the setup that I currently have.
For me it's Dual for sure, no doubts. 1 big ass hella good monitor to do almost anything with and a smaller, worse one on the side that I don't always use but it's still incredibly important.
after using a 34 inch ultrawide for s few years ive realized bigger is not better for gaming, pro fps gamers mostly use smaller screens so their eyes don’t have to scan a large surface area to hit targets or make quick movements
I started with a a dual 24" 1080p x 1920 set-up but it was a bit too bulky for my snug home-office space and a hassle if I had to move my desk to another room or area of the house. I 'graduated' to a 34" ultra wide 1440p x 3440. The ultrawide set-up is amazing. Sleek, portably convenient and plenty of multiple-window space for my work. The picture detail and font clarity of 1440p is superior to 1080p. I'll probably never go back to dual monitors.
This was so helpful!! I was thinking to switch from 3 1440p displays to 1 wide and 1 1440p but i stream so its a no go for me. Thank you very much you are amazing! It is the first time i see your video!
IMO, say you have a budget of $1000 for either one ultrawide or 2 normal monitors. A 34" ultrawide is 3,440 x 1,440 at probably 60/75hz, while one 27" 2K monitor at $500 is 2,560 x 1,440 at potentially 120/144hz. So basically for the same price, with two 27" monitors you will be getting 2.4 million more pixels and a higher refresh rate. Unless special need for ultrawide (e.g., film editing, racing games, FPS?), I'd always recommend dual monitor setup 🖥 🖥
I'm currently got both setup 2*16:9 (landscape and portrait ) for coding/productivity and 21:9 for gaming, yes it's serve different purpose but considering to add one16:9 to the widescreen setup to start the gameplay streaming, so I think my "ideal" set up for the future would be this 1 21:9 in landscape and one 10 inch LCD (like the raspberry pi screen) beneath the main screen so it will not distract and serve as auxiliary screen. it's the same concept like the ASUS notebook.
Dual on the utility PC. Left Monitor is split tiles for ADSB Exchange and Real Time Lighting Map. Right is for videos, word processing, watching videos. Triple on the workstation. Right is for the SDR radio spectrum display single window full screen, center is for digital communications, basically two windows with access to some desktop icons and left is for control functions, three windows. Need to upgrade to sit/stand desks.
I've been rocking a 2 monitors setup for ages. I got a new sit stand desk couple weeks ago and replaced the 2 1080p monitors with2 x 2k 27s. I had them both landscape then switched the right one to ti portrait. Life changing.! However I just ordered a 34 curved ultra wide that should arrive Tuesday and I will pair it with a 27 in portrait.
@@pandoxno3 LOVE IT! haha. I have the ultrawide with anothe 27 inch that I do portrait or ladscape depending on what I'm doing. but very diable if you have monitor arms and enough space on the desk. 1 thing for sure, that my main monitor will never be 16:9 anymore. Ultrawide for life.
The drawbacks you mention are why I have stuck with my 10+ year old triple monitor setup: 1920x1200 in the middle, two 1600x1200 monitors on the sides. I will only run Windows at 100%, as the scaling feature is still to buggy with software I use - so some higher resolution monitors are out for me due to being too small for their pixel density. My needs are only productivity related, not gaming. Sure my setup isn't as elegant as an ultrawide, but it suits my use case very well - and I"m finding it difficult to justify making any changes.
I seriously miss the 1200p monitors. I work primarily with text and a ton of open references, and 1080p is too short. 1440p works well, but becomes too costly for a dual monitor setup and too big when in vertical (27" being the minimal size for 1440p to be comfortable for my eyes). Was really bummed when companies started moving away from 1200p.
I have dual 27’ monitors side by side and I I honestly can’t see myself switching to any other set up, maybe in the future I’ll switch to bigger screens and higher resolution. Just having everything separate from each other makes my work/gaming experience all the more better. I’m not a coder or anything so having a vertical screen wouldn’t do me any good and having triple monitor set up would be overkill for what I do but maybe I’ll switch to that sometime in the future
I'm on the same boat but I found myself using the left monitor a bit more as a primary and the right one as a secondary, which forces me to have a slightly off posture and having to turn my neck left and right more. I'm looking into having a 38" UW to possibly replace my dual 27".
Hey man, I've just discovered your channel & this video. I'm glad I found it! Great stuff! I think your chair (the first on in the video) is really cool! Can you tell me what chair it is? Thanks a lot! Cheers!
The cinematics are absolute bangers as always :) ! I personally would always go for an ultawide monitor as it looks clean and makes your workspace a pleasure to work in :)

Great video, man! I'm hoping to turn my hobby of being a digital artist/content creator into a full-time job after I graduate from university, so I think I'll go with a dual 27" setup rather than an ultrawide because I need to record my design process for youtube, and splitting the screens on an ultra wide to get the right aspect ratio for my videos and then having the second monitor out of the screen recording software to use for my art references will be fantastic!
dude I have the 49in ultrawide monitor and i love it! Im a cloud engineer and I use it for couding, multi tasks, and evern gaming. Highly recommend 49 in monitors hadns down!
Really, I think this is just a very personal thing, and like you said there's no right answer. Most of us are cramming multiple use-cases into one setup, and there just isn't a true ideal. My setup consists of my MacBook Pro and a gaming PC. There's a 27" 1440p monitor connected to the gaming PC, which I'll also use occasionally as a second screen for my laptop (I prefer to work mainly on the laptop screen for many reasons). Then there's a second, older 1080p 24" monitor connected to the gaming PC, almost entirely just so I can have RUclips/Discord/iTunes/a browser open while gaming. It's a situation where I can't even think of a way to make it work better for my needs, no matter how much money I could theoretically throw at it. A super nice 4k or higher display would be great to plug my laptop into, but would push my already quite capable gaming PC (3070 Ti) to its limits.
i’ve been using triple 27inch 1080p monitors and a 24inch 1080p above the middle for about a year now - and i’m thinking about switching the middle one out for a 34inch ultra wide and making the two 27’s vertically on the ends with the 4th above the ultra wide. not sure though
@ortsaslan you guys have the right idea. I'm currently using a 2x 27 inch 2k, but my next monitor purchase will be a 32/34 inch ultrawide 2k (probably curved) and the 27 inches on either side of it. I would not put them vertically.
Currently running three 32-inch ViewSonic 4K monitors conn to a RTX 3080 Ti. Wife uses it to run X-Plane 11 flight SIM. I use the same setup for Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Lightroom.
I switched from a triple display setup to a single 49 inch super ultrawide and will never go back. I am mostly a photo/video editor but do a bit of gaming. I use a gaming PC and an M1 Max Macbook with shared peripherals on a smaller desk than I'd like so being able to swap between them with a single cable (via the TS4 Thunderbolt dock) is perfect. I will probably upgrade in six months to a larger desk and may split the configuration and am strongly considering the 57" samsung for a dedicated PC monitor and splitting the setup but I'm not sure yet. The swapping is a little annoying but the laptop and the desktop are a bit out of the way so I might just get them closer to me so I don't have to get up lol
I think a 42 inched OLED panel is the most enjoyable for productivity. Plenty space both horizontally and vertically and an amazing quality of picture making even visual studio code pleasant to spent time lol
0:44 no one should setup like this. this is not ergonomically good and the neck will be stressed, medium to especially long term effects will be regretted. I got no clue why anyone thinks this is something good.
1440p is a minimum for me. I find 1080p very uncomfortable for text/numbers. I recently upgraded to 4k and it’s a dream. Text is super sharp and smooth and it’s way easier on my eyes when working with text for long periods of time
I like the idea of both, ultrawide on bottom (or top) and dual that fit the same length in the adjacent space. Expensive but I think that's what I'll work towards.
do you mean 3 displays, both 27" on top and one 34" on bottom right ? I was thinking about those screens setup and i did not find anything interesting about it yet
I had 2 monitors setup, also for gaming and for work, trying different vartiations always + tested using curved monitor with macbook, also switching from macbook colors to curved one, I realised that I am just stuck on macbook colors and curved was like for internet browsing (scrolling design on curved monitor looks not ok for me) So for my best choice I just use 1 monitor my iMac to work and If I want to gaming I have second one but standing on another desk just to play games and chill. I realized that distraction for me it's not ok and I can't focus If i have in front of me 2 monitors for example 1 for work and 1 for video or something other. For my best focus I just use 1 monitor and If I want to chill and have a break I just play games on another one. This psichologically just easier for me.
my set-up is composed of an ultrawide and i chose it because when it comes to gaming i felt like a simple display was limiting my feild of view and didnt deliver a very emersive experience even being slightly fustrating by times
one of my setups (the higher end one) has 2 4k60hz monitors that are being used to the fullest by a 3080 and an 11900k, while my other setup has 3 1080p monitors that are being ran by my lower end computer
Great video! just what I was looking for, the only thing is that with 2x27" you can buy one today and the other when you have the rest, so, that's why I chose 2x27", but if you have the money you maybe go with ultra wide
Great video as always and i really enjoyed you analysis. I always feel concerned whenever i see your colleague with the stacked screen setup and the tilt on his neck looking at the top screen. From a display screen equipment regulation perspective the placement of screens should be at your sitting or standing eye level to the top of the screen. I just feel stacking screens just goes against these regulations and a health risk. Vertical screen also need to use the same regulation. Imagine the tilt and rotation strain on the neck if the stacked screen are 34inch ultrawide. The reason 24 - 27 inch screen are encourage in a dual monitor setup is to minimise the rotation on the neck. Imagine what the neck of people who uses dual 34inh ultrawide monitor goes through. Some of these setuo look good but a huge health risk. The neck is not the body part to trade for cool setups and unfortunately i see that alot on RUclips.
What is the brand and size of the monitor light bar used? *Great video! I use three 24 curved monitors in main office and two 27, looking into on ultrawide display
I know this is an older video but it helped a lot I'm sure it's excessive but I run a duel 27" (one vertical one horizontal) and am considering replacing the horizontal with a 34" ultrawide for gaming and work
Great video man! I’m aspiring to turn my digital artist/content creator hobby into full time after I graduate University so I definitely think i’m going to do a dual 27” setup rather than upgrading to an ultrawide because I do have to record my design process for youtube and splitting the screens on an ultra wide to get the right aspect ratio for my videos and then having the second monitor out of the screen recording software to use for my art references will be great! Question tho, do you think having 2 monitors stacked hurts your neck from looking up all the time? or would you recommend to have the T layout
Dear, thank you for the great insights . I’m planning to buy the 34inch curved alien ware monitor. Could you advise me in the desk setup? Space, with, features,…
Peoples posture needs to be considered as well. The single laptop with screen is really back for your neck and back long term. Due Screen seems the best way forward due to the challanages with Ultrawide and Teams/Zoom calls.
I have a 4k Samsung 34" paired with a 22" ilyama Touch Screen (TS normally turned off). It works fine. The Samsung is limited to 60Hz, so I will be upgrading that soon - but for now it's worth it to get the 4k. I have noticed the smaller 22" ilyama has much better colours, too. Also, the sound output on the Samsung stopped working after about 8 months. The ilyama is about 20 years old and still going strong.... build quality matters, eh?
You need a Sage, he's playin Killjoy... You need a real teammate and I play Sage 😉 But on a serious note, thank you for the feedback. I was struggling on have an ultrawide setup only but limitation for the fullscreen is a real deal... I will think harder and go on your video for the second desk setup in the office. Nice to have an opinion on this too 😄

😮my boy just saved me some money as I was about to buy a 34 inch monitor but I have dual monitors now
I really love the razer blade laptop setup and mannnn your thumbnail always nailed it !
looks whos back with banger video
Great video man! I run a triple monitor setup with one monitor being an ultrawide.
Dual monitors ftw
reason is ultra wide is too high in price for a lack of resolution.
Great discussion and video homie. ⛽️💯
Multi Desktop + Fancy Zones from Power Toys. These 2 will supercharge your productivity so much.
Great cinematics love it bro❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thanks man I appreciate it!!
Hi, I really like to start learning concept art on something like an ilad do you recommend any courses?
Ok bot

So to be clear
Setup 1: ultrawide
Setup 2: top to bottom dual
Setup 3: side to side dual
Setup 4: laptop + monitor
this vidéo should be more popular it's a great one thanks !
dude I have the 49in ultrawide monitor and i love it! Im a cloud engineer and I use it for couding, multi tasks, and evern gaming. Highly recommend 49 in monitors hadns down!
dual monitor is more convenient for developement in my opinion. Sometimes 3 monitors the third is for emails and chats.
been using 1 monitor setup 34" ultrawide from gigabyte for editing and gaming and i love it. anyway, love your video quality m8!
Good Video i am using a 34 inch ultrawide and a 24 inc 16x9 Monitor in portrait Mode
Omg I was just thinking in this video and you uploaded it ahahah
Super video Bro Keep Going Intro Super Cool
Dope video as always brother! I’ve been Lowkey needing a new monitor, I hope to get one soon !
I hope it helps brothaa!!! 🥵
Text is super sharp and smooth and it’s way easier on my eyes when working with text for long periods of time
And monitor size?
@@pastuh 28inch 3:2 aspect ratio
Same here bro.
This was the in-depth analysis I needed
great video. I need to setup dual monitors and this was helpful 👍
I've got a 34" ultrawide with a vertical 16:9 1080 secondary screen, best of both worlds
those dual mounted razer raptors r awesome
my set-up is composed of an ultrawide and i chose it because when it comes to gaming i felt like a simple display was limiting my feild of view and didnt deliver a very emersive experience even being slightly fustrating by times
one of my setups (the higher end one) has 2 4k60hz monitors that are being used to the fullest by a 3080 and an 11900k, while my other setup has 3 1080p monitors that are being ran by my lower end computer
This video helped me tremendously I'm def gonna rock w/the 2 monitor setup since I game and stream.
No word.. 🔥🔥
.. Cinematic is ❤
mkay, one ultrawide and one normal one sounds like a good meta build.
3 monitors is fine. middle is the code, right one for research, emails or chats or music and left is for the output
What is the brand and size of the monitor light bar used? *Great video! I use three 24 curved monitors in main office and two 27, looking into on ultrawide display
I know this is an older video but it helped a lot I'm sure it's excessive but I run a duel 27" (one vertical one horizontal) and am considering replacing the horizontal with a 34" ultrawide for gaming and work
Good One Andres Bruh!!
Waiting to watch your videos every week!
Loving the cinematic sketch intros! 🤘⚡
Ultrawide monitor is incorrectly linked in the description. Great video though!
Would you know what model of Ultrawide was shown here? 😅
I'd be interested as well
Bro would you mind comparing some budget laptops 💻 for students for programming and little gaming .
34" UW (3440x1440 21:9) in the center. vertical 27" (1440p 16:9) to the right. older 32" (1080p 16:9) LCD tv to the left for movies, etc
Andres where did you get your glasses? Also great vid
Man you are good at flowing into your product ads...lol Seriously, its annoying with most creators but you are smooth.
Dopppe video man! I checked the link on your description, What bundle are you using for the computer wallpaper?
Dear, thank you for the great insights . I’m planning to buy the 34inch curved alien ware monitor. Could you advise me in the desk setup? Space, with, features,…
Such a sick setup 🔥🔥
Peoples posture needs to be considered as well. The single laptop with screen is really back for your neck and back long term. Due Screen seems the best way forward due to the challanages with Ultrawide and Teams/Zoom calls.
Thanks for this... Quite helpful since I am exploring moving from a single 50" 4K tv to dual 4K monitors - eventually getting to 6 4K monitors 🤩
Great Video. U have put a lot work for it. Good Job!
You need a Sage, he's playin Killjoy... You need a real teammate and I play Sage 😉
But on a serious note, thank you for the feedback. I was struggling on have an ultrawide setup only but limitation for the fullscreen is a real deal... I will think harder and go on your video for the second desk setup in the office. Nice to have an opinion on this too 😄
Amazing cinematic job Bro ❤️
Also I randomly stumbled across your videos and would like to say they have Been very helpful and entertaining. Thankyou
That's why I use an ultrawide monitor + a 16:9 4k dual monitor setup.
Hi Andres, where did you bouht those usb-c neon flat cables, they look great !
That Valorant intro though >>
Hey Andres! Would yoy be kind enough to make a video especially for the AnkerWork B600 web camera? Keep up the cool work man, your setup looks slick as hell!
