- Jacques and I (Jason) did another Virginia pier trip and while I had popped out to get a new rod, Jacques had caught this huge shad ("Bluefish" in the USA and "Tailor" in Australia) on a tiny 5ft6 rod. What an action-packed fight! Subscribe for more!

Unlucky, sometimes they don’t like taking steel wire but if you hook a big one you’re in trouble. Tight lines!
That big one is known as a Bluefish in the US, and Tailor in Australia.

With all the sewerage being pumped into the sea around Durban??? are these fish "safe" to eat??
We don't eat the fish, however, for the safety of those who do, I constantly check beachwater.durban.gov.za/ website which indicates whether it's poor/acceptable/ideal. At Glenashley Beach the water quality report shows that it's perfectly safe (ideal).
Bru.....frozen bait ,knife going toward your hand,no no no please man don't do it ,you won't be able to fish if you slag your hand open,lekker vids 👍
