Years later, me and a couple old band mates got together and did "Darlin Be Home Soon" in what would turn out to be our final live performance (I moved away and put the guitar down. Not sure why, but it was 10 years ago and I haven't picked it up since so I'm calling it our last hurrah). John Sebastian is one of the best song writers from the 60s who never seems to get mentioned. To be honest, I'm guilty of forgetting him myself from time-to-time. This was one of my songs to sing back in the band days of the 60s. A is now a better key for me too. I was a better whistler & blues harp player back then. Our lead guitar could never quite get what Zally was doing, so he faked it.

John Sebastian is playing one of the most collectable, valuable, vintage guitars, a 1959 gibson les paul standard.
Gordon Kennedy owns it now...he didn't buy it from john directly, he bought it from a reseller .
