Gawd, he loved her so much. I could always pick that up in the song, but to see photos accompanying the song it’s just unreal. He’s gazing at her simply lost. To be loved like that might’ve been too much for her. Doubt he ever got over her.

In the late 60s I thought this sounded like a great place to live, now my wife and I live on five acres, have a dog, 8 cats in the yard and some parrots in the house. This song planted the seeds of an idea of our home and still sounds great today...

Not into this song but better than Our House by Madness and less sappy musically than "Marrakesh Express" . No, Neil Young didn't sing on this. This does have his harder edgy sound it seems (not too much) or it gets found in children's music section. Where is my red heart?

I absolutely loved Helen's rendition of it, and never knew the story behind the song until this year! Nice presentation.
I love reading the biographies and autobiographies of my favorite artists. And Joni was one. But, I always think it must have been kind uncomfortable for her since she was lovers with all of CSN. Eventually, she left Nash because she said "he was too infatuated with her". He felt more like a fan than a life partner to her.
Joni came a long way from a youth who survived polio, to becoming one of the worlds greatest songwriters. Not to forget a world traveler, painter and guitarist who still has musicians baffled by the dozens of unconventional tunings she used.

She was not a very good person and shit on her daughter.

    • @johnbrady1211

@@ottomueller4425 Well, she was always troubled about giving her daughter up for adoption. Most girls in that position were shipped to the opposite side of Canada and gave the child a fictitious name.
In “Little Green” she says, she signed the papers in the family name. This made it easy to find her after Joni settled in the Canyon. They had disagreements and once came to blows about who knows what. But apparently they found some common ground and Joni took care of her and her granddaughter financially.
The speculation is, would Joni have become the artistic genius she turned out to be if she became a full time single mother, instead of giving her child up for adoption?
In most of what I read about her, she wonders this herself, and felt a great sense of guilt about it all her life.
