THE INTERNATIONAL OIL CRISIS OF 1979 THAT TURNED THE UNKNOWN MISS VENEZUELA INTO ANNUAL WINNERS: At first it was a beauty contest, but over time it became a contest of political and economic interests. Only one Arab woman has been crowned Miss Universe, and the following year, she was not allowed to crown her successor. Before the International Oil Crisis of 1979, Venezuela had been participating annually for almost 30 years, and only 2 Miss Venezuela had qualified among the five finalists, in 1967 (Mariela Pérez) and in 1976 (Judith Castillo). Until then, the winning countries in these contests were the United States of America and Sweden, while at the regional level in Latin America the leadership was held by Brazil, Argentina and Puerto Rico (Commonwealth of the United States of America). Since the fourth Arab-Israeli war in 1973, the governments of the Arab countries that produce and sell oil have vetoed the United States of America (the country that owns the Miss Universe pageant), Great Britain (the country that owns the Miss World pageant) and Japan ( country that owns the Miss International contest), except the kingdom or empire of Iran, where there was a king or emperor who was friendly to the North Americans and Europeans, but in 1979 Ayatollah Khomeini overthrew the Shah, and this new government since 1979 broke friendly relations and trade with North America, Europe and Japan, in such a way that Venezuela became the only supplier of oil for these countries that immediately turned Miss Venezuela into the sudden new annual winners and finalists of these contests, which became fashionable. . In the 90s, when the world said that India had achieved nuclear development and would soon become an economic and nuclear power in Asia, Miss India became the new most beautiful women in the world, the new winners and finalists. annually, but when that image that India had as an economic-nuclear power faded, so did the constant triumph of Miss India in this type of contest. Goodbye to Miss India and they became ordinary again. Many countries send representatives who are often favorites, but not all of them are allowed to win. Why don't Arab women qualify?

Em minha opinião, obviamente todas as misses são muito lindas, porém para mim a mais perfeita em beleza tanto física como espiritual, caráter, cultura e inteligencia foi Irene Sáez/ 1981/ Venezuela.
Thanks for putting this together. All lovely, of course, but I don't think some of the early 1970s winners were the most deserving. I was really disappointed with the judges choices back then. I also miss that grandiose, lovely crown from the 1970s-early 2000s. It's interesting to see that some of the winners from 20 years back didn't have absolutely perfect bleached or veneered teeth! They seemed much more naturally beautiful.
2015 Ms. Pia Wurtzback, Philippines🇵🇭 most popular Ms. Universe of all time..
I'm pretty sure Sushmita Sen is more popular, even in the Philippines

Most Controversial Miss Universe
@@plumangbughaw730 Not controversial but funniest moment with dumb dumb Steve Harvey. Got it?
Extraordinariamente bellas..Christian Martell de Francia 1953 y Silvia Hitchkoc de USA 1967...
Triste decirlo... antes de tantas extenciones, cirugias y prótesis.
Y ahora, aparte de prótesis, próstatas 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Big difference. In the past, there were no compliments or cheating. The selection was real. Also, the girls were naturally beautiful without plastic surgery. Now the selection mechanism has changed a lot.. we see black girls in European countries? And we see white girls in African countries?
So, Unfortunately, beauty standards have changed for the worse now.
Todas son bellas. 😊

I honestly wish they hadn’t changed the iconic crown with the lady in the middle, idk it was just, so iconic
Interesting to see that a lot of the earlier winners, most of them, are under the age of 21. Kudos to USA WHO PROBABLY HAD THE MOST RUNNER-UPS
It is a peculiarly American thing to want to assign superiority or inferiority to this ridiculous appearance.
And the most wins.
TO MENTION THE FIRST RUNNER UP THEN THE WINNER !! IS MORE EFFECTIVE AND NOT IGNORING THE IST RUNNER UP WHICH IS IN A FEAT ITSELF!!!
I like 2002 and 2008 winner miss Russia oxana and Venezuela Dyana Mendoza both women are the most beautiful winner miss universe
Miss universe 2002 oksana Fedorova is really beautiful 😍🇷🇺
Oksana may be beautiful as you say but the fact remains that she was dethroned. She didn't want to continue her reign so that Russia's only win was aborted. Both she and Amparo Munoz were a disgrace. They should have realized they signed a year of commitment and dedication but ultimately failed to carry through on their pledge.
@@basilmanolakos4926 but still she crowned as miss universe in 2002
@@basilmanolakos4926calling Amparo who’s passed away a disgrace because she didn’t FULLY complete her reign? Really?? And to top that off she was never *officially* dethroned. Shame on you

My uncle briefly dated Carol Morris in high school in Ottumwa, Iowa. He married a young woman not unlike Carol in type. She was a beauty herself.
It was nice to watch Bob Barker preside over the fulfillment of so many young women's dream achievement!
Ximena Navarrete 2010 with or without makeup on is gorgeous!! Instagram ❤
I remember waiting to watch this pageant every year!! I don’t watch it anymore now.

That's true and that's why Tunzi is the worst Miss Universe ever because Madison Anderson from Puerto Rico deserved to win Miss Universe 2019
For the first 20 years the girls were very beautiful and really appreciated the title you can see how it made them so emotional, I love it and I'd always cheer a gorgeous brunette😋❤
we will win against us and its proxies
La más monísima. La de mi país Amparo Muñoz. Que en paz descanse 😊🇪🇦😭
Cierto,preciosa mujer.. malagueña
I do not know on what basis Miss Universe is chosen, but I am certain that my wife is the most beautiful woman in the world
Cecilia Boloco Miss CHILE. BELLA AL NATURAL.❤❤❤😊
Unfortunately the real drop dead classy beautiful women would never compete in a superficial competition like this
Mostly Muslim women.

GREETINGS FROM AZERBAIJAN ❤
IN AZERBAIJAN THERE ARE MANY BEAUTIFUL WOMEN TOO, SO AM I 😊
I met Chelsi Smith (Miss Universe 1995) here in Houston before her unexpected passing. She was just as charming and as down-to-earth as you could imagine. She was a first for all of us here - first Miss Houston to win both Miss USA and Miss Universe, and the first bi-racial Miss Texas USA. RIP, Chelsi! 🥲🥲🥲
But they're all from the planet Earth!!
I know, right. Makes you wonder if it's rigged! LOL

Colombia was first runner-up so many times, including 3 consecutive years from 1992 to 1994!

Miss Universe is forever from earth 🌎 🎉🎉🎉
They were so young but looked so mature! I wonder if it's genetics or fashion
