    I grew up with Chad. We lived in the same ward in Springville.
    I have to say that his parents are the greatest people in the world. My mom was a non Mormon single mom and his dad was our home teacher.
    He did so many great things to help my mom.
    I hope that people will never think they did anything to deserve any of this.
    I will say that I always felt that Chad was always a bit off.

Heather challenged the LDS leaders that they were supposed to have descernment by the mere positions of being leaders in the LDS church. Obviously that teaching has been proven wrong! • @cookie_dough_hangover
      @cookie_dough_hangover Год назад

      @@janetcampbell9286 Actually it is dependant on gender and it's scientifically proven. I said "strong and intuitive woman" which excludes gullible and silly women. Studies have found that a woman's intuition goes deeper than cultural gender expectations. On a biological level, women have increased brain activity as well as greater blood flow in areas of the brain that control memory and emotion, which could explain why women exhibit intuition more than men. Let's not make something that is supported by science and everyday experience into a gender thing.

      Chad’s choices had very little to do with LDS beliefs, especially once he started making up his own belief system. I think he made choices that led him down a dark path that became even more evil. He knew exactly what he was doing. I think Lori is a narcissist, but i think she truly believed what Chad sold to her. Many people will be tricked by Satan and fall away from Christ, this will only increase until the second coming.

    • @tamaraelsberry6630
      @tamaraelsberry6630 Год назад +1

      Cling to Jesus Christ and Holy spirit.
      To me this is a clear case of pride coming before the fall. Chad obviously wanted desperately to be someone important, to have followers so badly that he was easy pickings for being deceived. Lucifer, the roaring lion who seeks to destroy, used Chads pride by whispering to him that he was a great leader with a great mission. By telling him there were dark spirits in people and they needed to be destroyed. All the things he started believing are clearly not scriptural in any way. Chad was already adept at manipulation and lies, it wasn't a huge leap to start deceiving people with his "prophetic gifts". Enter Lor Vallow, who desperately wants to be a spiritual giant herself, and you have the perfect storm. I believe Chads lust for Lori is what got Tammy killed.
      Just remember one of Jesus most important teachings from the New Testament... "by their fruits ye shall know them" (found in Matthew)
      What are Chad and Loris fruits? Death and destruction.
      Don't let the "roaring lion" destroy your faith over this. He's looking for any crack in your faith and he will exploit it to the fullest.
      Now let's apply the "fruits" yardstick to the Church. What are its fruits?
      A family centered, law abiding, service oriented, hard working, clean living, morality striving people. With a vast welfare system that helps the poor, and those that suffer calamities, all over the world.
      Of course we all have faults, no one is perfect. But it's essential to have discernment in all things. Cultivate Holy spirit as your guide. Intuition, gut feelings, it's all the same. Learn to trust it above all else.

    Heather, thank you so much for sharing your story. Your experiences turn people we know as one-dimensional ("the doting mother", "the villain") and creates a much deeper and realistic view of humanity--the complex characters laced with tragedy, dealing with family, self-preservation, growth, and both exercising and pushing boundaries. It sounds like you and your husband have worked really hard at your relationship throughout the years, what a great accomplishment that shows your abiding trust and love in each other. I also commend you for re-evaluating your entire belief system--it takes open-minded intelligence, integrity, and grit to progress beyond the worldview you inherited. It's also incredibly difficult and painful, though ultimately (imo) wonderfully rewarding, to find you can learn and change and that all that is before you is opportunity to live and grow some more. I've made that journey, ridden than tapir, if you will, see the similarities in history that you've seen--all my support on your journey and to your families as you make your way through this great tragedy. 😘 Thanks again.

    I'm only half an hour in, yet feel compelled to share that this must be one of the most authentic interviews - not only in this case, but in any public telling of a real life or true crime story. It is so deeply apparent that Heather had insight and experinces few did, but the wisdom of being an outside within the family to bring some objctivity. Mostly, it's apparent that she's trying to tell her story while respecting the privacy and boundaries of her husband's family; and that while she herself has established boundaries with that family, she has love and wishes the best for them. Perhaps if they're watching, but too hurt or entrenched in their own story /experience, they'll see some truth in my words, or Heather's decision to speak to them (30m mark when she looks directing into the camera. )

    I appreciate this interview, and I could really relate to Heather. I didn't go through anything as horrific, but I know what it's like to leave a faith you've been highly devoted to for decades. Even her husband's reactions to things reminded me of my husband's reactions. I always took the teachings more seriously, and I was also the first to say when things felt off in our church, which saw its share of scandals and splits during our 25 years there. I finally left it all behind, my husband and kids following me about a year later. That was hard but also so liberating. I wish I could sit down with Heather and chat, but this interview is the next best thing. Kudos to her and you both for making them happen, and I will continue to watch the rest.

I have so much respect for Heather, she spoke the absolute truth and never once disappointed our creator. I’m glad she left the lds faith, to many have tried to rewrite the truth, Chad and others putting their own spin on Gods true word. I pray she continues to talk to God, let him guide her and help her find peace. NONE of this is her fault! Heather likely could have saved others by telling the truth in all that she heard and witnessed. Kudus Heather…you’re a good woman, a faithful woman and don’t ever forget how much God loves you so! Remember, you don’t need to join any church or congregation etc to be listened to and heard…God loves you. Continue to reach out to him for guidance 🙏 I wish you much Peace and Love ❤️

    What made me think about Chad's graveyard job was that possibly Tammy's library work in a school was higher paid. This may have helped him to focus on his books. Lori seemed to be proud of him being "an author" and said he was to the police when they came for JJ's welfare check. Tammy seemed to be such an honest hard working person who everybody loved. If Chad no longer wanted to be together he could have separated or divorced. Such hypocrisy and to claim life insurance. She was loyal to him and he said disparaging things about her behind her back.

She is great at knowing her boundaries and communicating them. I could easily imagine Chad isolating Tammy with everything he put in people’s heads about Tammy and what he put in Tammy’s head. Lots of gaslighting and psychological manipulation going on with Chad. I will say, however, if anyone ever told me they didn’t want me moving near them, I would keep my distance too.

    It is ALWAYS problematic when a father figure does not teach his children to treat their Mother with respect. The strongest family dynamic includes a loving respectful loyal kind relationship amongst ALL of the members. When the parents not only treat each other as partners and equals but the children are also treated that way as they grow into adulthood. Their feelings and thoughts should count and be heard and be as important as that of the parents
    It is so harmful to the children when either parent is treated disrespectfully or abused by the other.
    The parent is a reflection of themselves *

He had a fan club of believers. He seemed so creepy to me that I couldn’t stand to be near him at transfers, or other mission meetings. So the claim to near death experience started at least on the mission. I never believed it was true. It felt super off. Maybe he stopped talking about it when he got back home because people wouldn’t believe it and then when so many believed Julie Rowe he thought he could resurrect his lies.
