- When ur days shows low coolant level or your getting that dreaded 111 cel code. Usual suspect is the coolant level sensor. This particular video is showing 2017 and below Detroit Diesel engines.

Hi Knuckle, I’ve replaced both the sensor and the module to try and clear my SPN 111 code. After which I use my scan gauge to clear the code but it comes right back and the check engine light is still lit when I turn key to Accessory mode. Do I need to do anything else to clear the code (ie run the engine or drive the rig etc)? Or would you assume something else is still wrong somewhere? Thanks for all you do.
Good job 👍🏻 new suscritor
Glad to have you aboard and appreciate your support by watching. Hopefully more vids on here prove useful to you.
Bro nice video ! On Which TA do you work ??
Thanks man. Haha what makes you think I work for TA.
Great help I have a question for you 09 dd15 in a ws engine fan stays on new fan hub new siliniod and ac high pressure switch no codes. Thanks
Thanks for watching and reaching out. With fan issues common issues are Deff the high pressure switch, fan solenoid or stuck hub. If those aren’t the issues and you know for certain the parameters weren’t changed at all. I would check the fan solenoid connector pins for any issues because they spread easy. After that I would be using a computer and seeing if it was commanded on by anything. Than I would check the wiring because if it was shorting to ground than it would be forced to stay on. Hope that helps some.
I have a 1998 Cadillac Deville and the sensor is in the tank, I replaced the tank but still have the low coolant level light coming on. I think it is the connector wire that hooks to the overflow tank how do I replace that connector?
The dealers or online stores should have these pre made pigtails that you can splice in. Shouldn’t be to hard to find in a Google search
Hey bud question got a new select plus coolant level alarm stays on even after I change the sensor have any suggestions
Thanks for reaching out. If you’ve already replace the sensor then you have a wiring issue either at that connector or along the path to the CPC. First things first I would check the pins and make sure they’re not spread open check the wires behind the connector and make sure they’re not twisted or pulled tight. After that I would hook up a computer and just start going through the whole harness until I find the brake or rub and it will cause a check engine light when I get to it so monitoring it would be the best thing. If no computer than a multimeter ohming out each leg while wiggle testing the harness would be the next step. Hope that helps. I don’t forget these videos can make great birthday presents especially since they’re free
So, my temp is in range and coolant level is full. Would this be a likely cause for my coolant light to flash along with the annoying chime? Pete 579
Thanks for reaching out.For a pete things a a bit diff..But I believe connecting a computer would lead us to a coolant sensor or wiring issue. Hope that helps some.
How about on hino 2013 same concept. ? 268A
It will be fairly the same concept.
Why the def level sensor has no power only ground
Great question. Either your key is off, your checking the wrong connector, or wiring issue present
My coolant level sensor code keeps showing after changing
Than I would definitely suspect the wiring. Go through any pinch points or possibly right at the connector.
Dd15 Spn 175 error code needs help thanks
I believe that’s an oil temp issue code. Might have to inspect for proper oil and or a failed sensor.
Thank u Sir
Some reputable fleet maintenance place saids has to do with Sam chassis electrical problem ?
@@rafraf6836 spn 175 fmi what. I was going off of memory but il look it up if you have an fmi.
