Okay, I should have specified... When I'm talking about 'review' bombing, I'm not talking about complaints regarding the performance (those complaints were VERY warranted). I'm instead talking about people who had played it for an hour, expecting 'Dead Space 4', and they didn't get that, so they 'review bombed' it... All in all, I thought the game was pretty good, an 8/10 due to some flaws. Who'd have thought video games could be controversial! Bring back the PS1 era! 🤣
Nah... it's OK. Gaming commentators bitch about everything these days as drama content is very profitable on RUclips; and this results in waves of uncharitable and ignorant reviews. In Callisto Protocol's case this is even more infuriating since *ALL* of this game's performance issues on PC had to do with the devs forgetting to put shaders in pre-rendered mode - which was fixed the next day.
@@nem0meimpunel8cessit It wasn't in a "incomplete state"; the performance issues mostly ceased on 2nd playthroughts precisely becuase the game had to concurrently compile shaders on the 1st. It was a major oversight easily fixable by tweaking UE5's settings. And this extremely simple mistake ended up eating a large chunk of Callisto's reputation and allowing cheap, generic criticism like yours.
If I had a dollar for every time these games have something to do with "the next phase in human evolution", I would have enough money to fund the next phase in human evolution.
there arent many of them , usually they are like someform of life invasion , terrorist virus went wrong and so on , the seek of homo deus is a great plot
It still blows my mind that the cult in dead space saw the body horror of the necromorphs and the fake marker and really thought- "Yep, that's definitely the next step of human evolution, truly beautiful and not the exact opposite of what the previous marker we found, which didn't do anything like that before. Time to spread it across space with no doubts about it at all...This was a good plan."
The name of the Jacob's ship being The Charon is pretty on point, given Charon in Greek Mythology is the ferryman who carries souls across the river Styx to Hades
@AgentCody Banx8 Because Black Iron could be compared to Hell or Hades, where dammed souls spend the rest of eternity, you could also compared Jacob to the ferry man directly but that's a little more tenuous
I think that the hallucinations may have been the biggest clue to Jacob possibly being another alpha, like how many of the previous infected mentioned voices in their heads
Late to the party, but I noticed this after I pre ordered it, but right before you make it to Mahlers office, Jacob will say, "The lab. At the heart of the prison." But his voice sounds deepend like Ferris as he jettisons Jacob and Elias out
@@chuckorgod.7758 He was supposed to. I can’t quite remember what it was but an entire episode was supposed to follow him during the fall of Atlanta ending when he turned into a zombie in the tank.
The story isn’t bad it’s decent enough and if you piece it together the framework and concept of what they were trying to tell is there. I believe where the story suffers is that there wasn’t enough development amongst the main cast of characters. It would have been nice if there were more recordings that could be found that highlighted the purpose of the characters. The relationship between Jacob and Elias should have been explored more before he died, more of Jacobs past experiences to show that he is the selfish survivor the game makes him out to be, Dani I think should have had more lines slowly showing her sympathizing with Jacobs unfortunate role but I think there is enough, and lastly more lines of Cpt. Farris showing his involvement and character. Thanks for the video.
Shouldn't have to piece together the framework and concept, though. We should be able to see the moments that truly matter. We should be able to see the character go through both physical pains but also mental pains. How does MC feel about working with Woman Who Killed his Best Friend? lol. This game is trash level trash.
@@KharaChmiel it's not like he really has a choice, it's shown that she can handle herself and in a situation like Callisto protocol's, working together with someone, even if it's someone you don't personally like, improves both of your chances of survival
@@russian_knight I'm sure you've never had a person kill your best friend in front of you. There would be more development needed between the killer and yourself before you could put that aside as easily as this MC did. Just sayin that is what this game is missing. Character development, good mechanics, and the wonder that has made other hallway games immersive and vast.
Given how much damage and exposure Jacob has been through then there can be some kind of explanation about why Jacob survived or didn’t get infected. Also we can see that the original Subject Alpha looked very human. He wasn’t bulky or muscular. So maybe there are some people who can process the parasite better than others.
@@Scrappy_ill_fold_ya_Doo Yes, according to the warden. Because he kept his sanity somewhat. But he still transformed in the end while the original Alpha from the colony did not even when he was getting mowed down by the sterilization squad.

This game deserved some heat, but nowhere near what it got. It’s got it’s issues, but I personally had fun the whole playthrough and loved the setting, vibe, graphics and lore. Looking forward to what this team does next, because they’re bound to only learn from the mistakes made on this one
Oh yeah it definitely deserved heat due to the performance issues on PC, but everything else isn’t as bad as what a lot of the reviewers are saying. I saw one reviewer commenting and saying that they thought the combat was ‘bad’ because they wanted enemy alertness indicators… in a game where there is no HUD because of immersion. I thought the combat was good. Had to get up close a personal and be patient, where as Dead Space was combat from afar, using Isaac’s plasma cutter.
@@GamingHarryYT yeah, no excuse for that PC performance. And agreed on the combat, it felt like the hits were hard and satisfying and the upgrades to the melee weapon (I forget it’s name) kept it from getting too boring, as I used it a lot all the way up to the end of the game. I actually only used the pistol and melee weapon for most of the game, with the shotgun as a way out of hairy situations, didn’t feel like I needed more. The immersion was great too…but those load times disguised as crawling/shimmying points took me out of it slightly, only because there were so many!
@@ummmidontknow I just finish the final transmission dlc not too long ago, but yeah I somewhat agree with you. Besides the complicated story, I didn't mind the dodge combat, but I did minded the slowness of healing and reloading a little bit. Also sometimes when quick changing the gun, it wouldn't change. So instead I just either kept hitting or try to bring up the guns and switch to one then press 'x' to confirm. Also, I barely used the grip as much either. Anyway, I think if they decide to make another game for the Callisto Protocol, I would probably just make a prequel for it....idk 🤷♀️
I have to wholeheartedly agree with your assessment about the Helix Station podcasts. Those were simply amazing. Kudos to all those involved in that bit of lore and backstory. 🎉
Yeah I started them, and was like, I’m gonna end up skipping most of these. Ended up sat there, eyes closed, hooked, and listened to every second of every episode.
Ok I JUST started the video and you got me smiling ear to ear already. I loved Sam’s performance as Captain Ferris, and his voice is just… sheesh. By the way, I *did* like this game and I can’t wait for NG+ and the story DL coming this summer. Remember, fellas: it’s ok if you didn’t like Callisto Protocol, but don’t let other people’s reviews make up your mind :) Edit: I also recommend go into your first playthrough on Maximum Security difficulty. I’m not good by any means, but it isn’t impossible even for newcomers to the genre, yet it still makes the game a bit more survival-y
I’ve started to notice that, too. A game or media is not allowed to stand on its own legs, without complaints that it was not a carbon copy of the spiritual ancestor but if it was a carbon copy people would then complain that it was a carbon copy. Review: “The Callisto Protocol isn’t Dead Space, so it’s automatically bad.” No nuance or context on how the game is bad on its merits, just it’s not Dead Space. “Issac’s stomps are bEtTEr than Jacob’s.”
I mean, when the biggest selling point of a game is the fact that it’s the spiritual successor to deadspace then yeah, you’re going to see a lot of reviews comparing the game to deadspace which is more than fair. The biggest complaint I’ve seen is that the story is pretty simple and kinda typical, which I agree with. It’s not bad, it’s just not super interesting to a lot of people. People definitely undersell how beautiful this game is though. You can tell they put a ton of work into the visuals of this game!
The game wasn’t bad it just needed more time in the oven in *my opinion,* tighter controls, tweaked/less 2 head’s, etc. And we’ll more story/character development between characters. It’s good but it could have been great.
I really appreciate you making detailed lore videos for all these games I don't have the time (read: am just too chicken) to play! It's nice that you provide details and sound passionate about each game.
I was definitely looking forward to your coverage of this game. You can narrate and explain anything with so much passion and research and OMG! That cameo in the beginning, Wow!!! What a surprise! Love him! Always makes a great villain. I'm so happy how far your reach has gotten. Well deserved!
It’s funny but the only problem I had with the game is that they TOOK OFF they’re helmets and never put them back on which would be infinitely helpful when dealing with an infection like this
This game was almost a mirror image of what Dead Space 1 offered. I think people see Dead Space as a collective whole and the over arching story not remembering that DS1 story was foundation and foundation only with sequels in mind. The game mechanics may be a little rough but this deserved a full fledged sequel
0:57 It wasn't review bombed. People simply reviewed it negatively because it was broken on launch. I bought it day 1 on PC and it was a stuttery mess and was unplayable. I refunded it and instead got both Spider-Man games on a sale and 2 days after it was fixed because apparently the devs released an early build as the final product by complete mistake. Damage was done and most people refunded it in those 2 days but not before giving it a bad review.
I absolutely loved this game and have played through 3 times. My last play through I made sure to use a guide and get all of the logs. I don’t understand how everyone just shit all over the game. I thought it was extremely fun and challenging on the hardest difficulty and the story was very cool. I read so many run times of the game that were in the range of 7-12 hours but my games all took closer to 20 hours
1:18 I feel some of the criticisms this game got were valid (not from games journalists of course, they can all kick rocks). Especially when it comes to gameplay loop and enemy types. The game was lacking in enemy variety and combat was equally lacking imo. The visuals were very good and there are good bones to this game but I definitely think that the negatives definitely outweigh the positives. Awesome video tho, per the usual, I’m hook on every word🤙🏽

"The Circle" most likely refers to an "Inner Circle." Kallipolis is the entire organization and the Circle are the leaders, that is to say the masked people specifically and possibly other high-ranking members like Cole.

I think when they call him vir solitarius I believe it translates to lonely man. So they're saying "the survivor, the lonely man." Because he says he doesn't have family in the beginning and right before Cole says he cares for no one else but himself. I think the narrative is they're calling him a selfish man but at the end he cares for Dani to atone for what he's done instead of being self centered and he learns to work with others instead of being closed off like with Max, instead choosing to care and be transparent with others as a team like with Dani. Elias was the middle ground bridging this transformation.
Also his beliefs vs Coles. In the beginning, he might even sided with Cole. If he wasn't directly effected he wouldn't have cared. But he's a changed man now and sees bow "greater good" experiments hurt individuals and those who care about them. He sees the value of individuals lives.
This game is CRIMINALLY underrated. I played through the whole story and DLC twice and I enjoyed every minute of it. Matter of fact, after I finish with my 2nd playthrough of Dead Space, I'm probably gonna play TCP again.

the problem with the story is that you go through the whole game fighting things you dont know and then at the end you are getting information dumps. Not to mention the boss fights were uninspired if you can call them boss fights. The two headed thing is a nightmare.

I mean through out the game even in early chapters you can tell the things you’re fighting is a alien virus you just need to listen to the audio logs you first get and explore off into the secret areas and seeing how most of the audio logs were from scientists it’s not hard to piece together they’re testing the prisoners with the virus. Before you even get the space suit I knew this organization was doing this for either military super weapon and conquering or for human evolution still if might be both for them but At the end of the day the story was pretty cliche and predictable still very fun tho also the 2 heads were easy just need a lot of ammo since they’re bullet sponges

Honestly, Callisto's Story and performance (post patch) was fine for me! It looks great, some... interesting design decisions for combat, but what made me immensely dislike it is the fact that none of the scares are built up, and that the enemies are not built up to be dangerous like they are in Dead Space. In Callisto, the first enemy you encounter you kill, setting up that these things aren't that strong. However, in Dead Space 1 you are separated by glass and watch your team get killed by the Necromorphs and then are forced to run away. The setup is MUCH different and IMO, Dead space pulls off horror much better that Callisto.
I'd give the game a 6/10. They should do a sequel on Europa with Dani. There's so much potential here that they coukd build off of and it would be a huge waste to not have a sequel.
As someone who bought & played the game, I was severely disappointed with it. It has absolutely nothing to do with the plot or setting but mainly the game mechanics which were poorly thought out. The story, while not terrible is extremely bare bones. It was so lacking that it failed to hold my interest. Its not that the story was bad, but rather it severely lacked story. There is next to no character development, there is next to no progression. The entire game up until the end is basically get to one point then another, then another, then another, and they all play out the same. Get to the elevator & take it up...elevator only goes down...travel through corridors to get to next elevator & take it up...Elevator crashes down...go through corridors to get to next elevator & take it up...fall through a floor & get to the next elevator...walkway collapses...get through corridors to get to next elevator...rinse & repeat. This is NOT a story, its padding and its BS writing. When the story does start to pick up, the game is already almost over & ends in blatant cliff-hanger. Again, this is NOT a story, and it feels cheap & lazy. To give you a better example of what I mean, consider the following...The game explains the outbreak as intentional so as to force humans to evolve to better handle the exploration of space. This is said in a two minute dialogue and never brought up again. Okay, fine & well...but the game has NEVER given any context of what life on Earth is like, NEVER gives any context on how space travel is like now or how it started or what (if any) achievements have been made, NEVER gives any context on why or how the colony on Callisto or Europa were established nor why, NEVER gives any context on technology, NOTHING. This makes it extremely difficult to get invested in a bare-bones story. Now compare that to what Dead Space did, where we learned that Earth is in dire straights with lack of resources, we learn of how Earth now has one govt agency that controls everything, we learn of a new religion that is heavily influenced by what we would learn later is "the marker", we learn about the evolution of space travel to some extent, and we learn about some technological improvements and more. In Callisto protocol, we learn that a space Trucker gets stuck on a prison where a mysterious outbreak happens and a shady organization (we don't learn anything about) was involved and that it was encouraged to force a human evolution. That's about it. This is piss-poor writing. Don't get me wrong, what's there in Callisto Protocol is fine and even good in cases, but the problem is that there is such a major lack of story. Its like going to a restaurant and ordering a meal that you love (lets just say spaghetti) and you expect a decent sized plate with some garlic bread on the side and all you get is some undercooked noodles in a cup with watered down tomato sauce and some crackers. Now I'm exaggerating a bit but you get the point. Even the Resident Eil series (known for bare-bones stories) does it better, which is embarrassing.
Yeah all fair points. I can agree with you in regards to some aspects. At least you’ve given reasons for why you didn’t like it! Thinking back on it, I’m inclined to agree with you, but whilst I was playing it, it was the atmosphere which carried me through, and the combat is literally a ‘you’ll love it or you’ll hate it’ thing. For example, Jacksepticeye hated the combat, whereas Markiplier on the other hand, is really enjoying it. It’s a very polarising game. EDIT; in response to YOUR edit. I also get what you’re saying about the story. But Dead Space had multiple titles to expand upon its lore. The Callisto Franchise (if they intend to carry it on), is just starting. So these things have provided a basis upon which to build. Resident Evil did the same. Establish a core structure for a story, and then expand upon it. For example, it’s taken Resident Evil all the way up until RE7 and 8 to finally explain how Oswell Spencer was inspired by Miranda to found the Umbrella Corporation.
@@GamingHarryYT To clarify, I don't hate the game, I was just severely disappointed. I did hate the combat at first, but after the latest patch I don't hate it anymore, I'm just interferent to it. The latest patch didn't solve the problem, but they made improvements that are greatly appreciated. The combat now feels more fair, though still a bit problematic in some ways. As for the atmosphere, I love the atmosphere. I the plot is fine, I just wish it was more fleshed out. Also, excellent point about Dead Space having multiple entries, but DS1 still had way more lore in its first title than does Callisto. Of course, DS1 probably had more money invested into to it which Striking Distance probably lacked as a new studio, but that excuse only goes so far. Please don't get me wrong, I want the game to be successful & I hope it gets a sequel, but I can't ignore its flaws, which I hope the Dev studio takes as criticism and not hate, though there is plenty of undeserved hate. The game is NOT terrible, its just disappointing. But that's partially my fault for buying into the hype. Also, this is my personal favorite genre for games, so I tend to have higher than normal expectations, which may not be fair but $70 is a LOT of money nowadays.
@@paranoyd70 I read your comments and as a horror fan I agree with you. While DS1 was the first entry in the franchise it still had a great story and lore and the DLCs and other stuff expanded it's universe. I think the game trys to be DS which isn't bad but it's trying to be to DS which we can see from different things in the game like shoot the tentacles. This video tells the story very well especially for those who got confused with it but at the end like you said the story isn't good and doesn't have anything. When I read the story and watched the videos I said to myself So there was an outbreak which happened deliberately because of a secret organization. You're other points are valid as well
@@GamingHarryYT right and i think great games for story tend to show and not tell. And dead space did a great job showing how things came about through enviroment and leaving it to us to peice it together, and by what is going on at that time, and not just telling us in text like what doom eternal did with its codex.
I can see Jacob being an Alpha, infected from the endless amount of bodily fluids he gets dunked on by beating or killing the infected, if the infected are mutated because the parasite has infected the whole body. This would explain the hallucinations , and if he got damaged in a certain way, such as a great fall or getting beat up, the parasite might divert resources to making sure he survived instead of mutating him,, stalling corruption and giving his body time to adapt to it

The Callisto Protocol fell hard because of two reasons. High expectations that were never met and rushed development that further degraded the game's quality. The graphics when the game isn't turning your PC into a malfunctioning nuclear reactor is actually pretty good. The melee combat is not really my taste but it can be a cool gameplay mechanic for some people. Being able to do combos and having more self defense options aside from stomping and guns. The gore is also top notch, they definitely nailed that. The atmosphere and world radiates of Dead Space, the story is also very reminiscent of the original series (mostly because it's premise borrows a whole lot from Dead Space 1 but we'll let that slide). Aside from the performance issues and some recycled bosses, this game could've been good. The story might've been what they call mid but the gameplay and atmosphere can be fun if the game works half the time. Here's hoping some patches will fix the performance issues in the future.
Captain Ferris with the grip = Starkiller Mutated Captain Ferris as the Alpha = Doomsday from Smallville Sam Witwer basically got to play again two characters that were milestones in his career, glad to see him cameo in this video!
Another great video! I didn't know about the podcast and will check it out. It shows how easy it is to miss background lore if you don't find all those audio logs collectibles. Very interesting comment about people rushing through the game and giving bad critic. It takes time to appreciate things.
what was that backhanded comment about reviewbombing and other journalists? When someone doesn't agree with you, they're not automatically stupid or lazy. The game got bombed because it didn't work on launch. The opinion of game journalists on the story is just as valid as yours.
At what point did I say they are ‘stupid and lazy’? Or are you over exaggerating to prove a point? In my pinned comment I elaborate I what I meant by review bombing. Referring to peoples expectations in expecting a dead space game, not the obviously valid complaints regarding the performance (which got patched within a day or two). It was a thinly veiled dig at game journalists like IGN for rushing through games on easy difficulty just so they can finish it quickly and get their review out, a lot of the time, missing out on story beats, and things that the game has to offer. Days Gone being a case in point.
@@GamingHarryYT we can agree on a lot of game journalists that are in fact not that good (that's what I meant by stupid and lazy) but its not right to group everyone who criticises the game into one basket and label all their opinions invalid. I didn't read the pinned comment, so sorry about that.
Visually this game was stunning and felt so immersive. Felt the plot was a little flat but if they changed the enemy attack animations so you had to slip on the side they were attacking and just automated and use block if they try grab you to push them off would have made the combat so much more engaging, which I think most people had problems. Long story short they released early to beat the dead space remake release.
I think a big reason this game flopped so hard is that the developer flew too close to the sun and made it close enough to the original Dead Space for the games to be compared in the first place, and Dead Space’s world building absolutely OBLITERATES Callisto’s. Story for story DS is far more interesting and this is especially apparent in combat scenarios where the in game lore actively plays a role in your fight against the necromorphs. The monsters in Callisto are just not as cool or creative and the story isn’t bad, it’s just very generic for this genre. Ultimately I blame the developers for trying too hard to make DS4 spiritually and they failed miserably. The first time I played I literally had to look up if this was in universe or not because they look exactly like necromorphs. The creative vision was just not there and I think subconsciously this was a redemption moment for the developer over what happened with DS4 and that tanked the game quality. Overall it’s not a bad game at all, but it IS a bad Dead Space game just like Dead Space 3 was and that’s what it turned into
this game used so many tropes. Just like you said the inevitable happens and they get separated. Why do games have to give you an accomplice just to contrive some stupid ass way to separate them so that the player can continue forth without having to do an escort mission. This game is just very lazy in my opinion. It's beautiful and I'm sure they spent a lot of work on it, but I'm also not going to give the game a free pass just because some of the people worked on dead space once upon a time. The game deserves the criticism it has gotten. It was disappointing. I understand that they were trying to get a game out the door, but in not taking further time to develop the game further it came off as very disappointing when compared to dead space, and the developers brought that upon themselves by advertising the game as basically a dead space successor
Yeah, in some ways, you’re right. The dead space connection was never gonna go well. The game was in a way ‘doomed’. But some people seem to struggle with the fact that this isn’t Dead Space. Its not part of the IP. Its separate. It’s the same with Until Dawn. Every Supermassive game that comes out now, it’s always the same… ‘it’s not like Until Dawn’… I understand that reviews are subjective, but I don’t trust game reviewers. I guess IGN put a bitter taste in my mouth with what they did to games like Days Gone. Scored it low, and were critical because they didn’t give it a chance.
this game looks gorgeous but lacked a bunch of features .Technical aspects asides, it felt really really rushed to the point they sold death animations as DLC, if they waited a bit longer and polished and added those death animations and new game plus on release it wouldnt receive half of the negative reviews it did, also blaming MOST negative reviews "on haters" is really disingenuous imo, in the end this game is kinda forgettable and will alway be on dead space shadow, the devs selling as a "dead space spiritual sucessor" also didnt help this game now that i think about it lol
Oof that intro. I get that you're upset people don't like the game... But it isn't a great game for various reasons. Oh well. Enjoy watching your vids either way, just don't agree with your intro on game journalists as it was more than just them that disliked the game.
Nah I get you. I’m not upset people don’t like it. It was more of a sly dig at journalists like IGN for what they did to Days Gone (one of my fave games). The reviews about optimisation are fair enough. I got a PC copy too and it was unplayable. But the issues got ironed out in a few days and plays fine now.

Okay, sorry but the "it was unfairly review bombed!" excuse is lame and played out. The game was poorly optimised and hugely underwhelming. The enemy design compared to Dead Space is pretty boring, you fight the same uninspired boss 3 times and the space illuminati next step in evolution was subpar old school resident evil writing. Imo, fine game if it runs properly and graphically it's amazing but comparing it to the quality dead space is a joke.
This game wasn't "Review Bombed" it was reviewed for what it is. It's mediocre beat em up that somehow wants to be a horror game that was negligently and poorly optimized for PC. People who paid good money got screwed because they happen to prefer PC. Striking Distance deserves the criticism. I expect this behavior from bloated AAA companies. Not start up devs who want to make a good first impression.
Because (as controversial as this may sound) I actually enjoyed the game… it wasn’t nearly as bad as people made out. I enjoyed it because I went into it as it’s own thing, and not expecting ‘Dead Space 4’. That kind of shaped the experience into a positive one for me. The performance of the PC port was unacceptable, but it was simply because a dev forgot to turn some shaders to ‘pre rendered’, and it got fixed the next day.
Wow you blame people just bombing an reviewers. The game was ready and came out at a bad time. You fan protecting it is sad. It wasn't a terrible game but it didn't hold up
Say whatever you like. But there’s a trend of hating games just because a large group of people hate it too. I guarantee that if the game didn’t have performance issues on day one, this game wouldn’t have gotten half the hate. The game was ready, some dev just forget to switch the shaders to pre rendered and it got fixed within a day.
bruv f@#$ those idiots
Nah...
Great video I live you content keep it up !
Getting angry at people for review bombing a game shows your bias.
Especially if the villains actually said that.
Remember when that Predator movie said Autism is the next phase of human evolution? Lmao
It still blows my mind that the cult in dead space saw the body horror of the necromorphs and the fake marker and really thought-
"Yep, that's definitely the next step of human evolution, truly beautiful and not the exact opposite of what the previous marker we found, which didn't do anything like that before. Time to spread it across space with no doubts about it at all...This was a good plan."
I'd be thrilled if just one of these games actually understood what evolution WAS.
The name of the Jacob's ship being The Charon is pretty on point, given Charon in Greek Mythology is the ferryman who carries souls across the river Styx to Hades
How does that relate?
@AgentCody Banx8 Because Black Iron could be compared to Hell or Hades, where dammed souls spend the rest of eternity, you could also compared Jacob to the ferry man directly but that's a little more tenuous
Seemed a bit contrived and heavyhanded to me
That and the main characters are named after the anointed descendants of Abraham. Isaac and Jacob.
@@thefoilguy Good catch, I hadn't even clocked that one
I think that the hallucinations may have been the biggest clue to Jacob possibly being another alpha, like how many of the previous infected mentioned voices in their heads
Given how many times he gets into contact with infected, he probably is infected but gradually transitioning at a greatly diluted rate
she also says she hears voices
I was just about to say the same thing.
Late to the party, but I noticed this after I pre ordered it, but right before you make it to Mahlers office, Jacob will say, "The lab. At the heart of the prison." But his voice sounds deepend like Ferris as he jettisons Jacob and Elias out
I thought the voices was to do with the health thing in the back of your head ?
That Cameo gave me chills. Sam Witwer is certainly a great Ferris! Though I do miss Starkiller haha
He is so cool for what he does for fans!
He'll always be starkiller for me

Hit me up I have something for you🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️🎖️👆🏻❤️🔥❤️❤️❤️🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉♥️♥️
Damn, this sounds exactly liked the other RUclips content creator explaining.. almost word for word even...
Given how much damage and exposure Jacob has been through then there can be some kind of explanation about why Jacob survived or didn’t get infected.
Also we can see that the original Subject Alpha looked very human. He wasn’t bulky or muscular. So maybe there are some people who can process the parasite better than others.
Ferris was alpha and look how he turned out lol

@@ummmidontknow oh yeah deffo. Those vents were LONG. And I’m the exact same. I didn’t even use the Skunk Gun or the Assault Rifle

By the way, I *did* like this game and I can’t wait for NG+ and the story DL coming this summer. Remember, fellas: it’s ok if you didn’t like Callisto Protocol, but don’t let other people’s reviews make up your mind :)
Edit: I also recommend go into your first playthrough on Maximum Security difficulty.

He sees the value of individuals lives.

best intro to a lore video of all time
the problem with the story is that you go through the whole game fighting things you dont know and then at the end you are getting information dumps.

I assume The Circle refers to an Inner Circle of select higher ups that operate in the shadows and silence opposition. The opposite of the Outer Way.
The setup is MUCH different and IMO, Dead space pulls off horror much better that Callisto.
i was not expecting that intro and im super happy for you

I'd give the game a 6/10. They should do a sequel on Europa with Dani. There's so much potential here that they coukd build off of and it would be a huge waste to not have a sequel.
the game is not bad, i loved it and even replayed it, its very dark depressing and unique and it works because its supposed to be just that.
@@GamingHarryYT
To clarify, I don't hate the game, I was just severely disappointed.
@@paranoyd70 All valid and fair points!

Really hope this universe gets explored more, don’t know if it will happen due to the reception and sales but I do hope.
The cameo gave me chills! Ngl I listen to your videos to calm down

"I'm not an astrologist" 😂 well done
The Journalist difficulty level 🤣🤣🤣
Captain Ferris with the grip = Starkiller
Mutated Captain Ferris as the Alpha = Doomsday from Smallville
Sam Witwer basically got to play again two characters that were milestones in his career, glad to see him cameo in this video!

This game had the best graphics I’ve ever seen . It felt next gen for sure. I love my series x. It’s a powerhouse

The game needed more cutscenes, especially with these phenomenal graphics some extra cutscenes could have helped the game a lot.

Overall it’s not a bad game at all, but it IS a bad Dead Space game just like Dead Space 3 was and that’s what it turned into
2:53 "request clearance"😂
Bro got literally no choice. He's telling them
Starkiller?! 0:01😊
Captain Leon Ferris. Also Deacon St. John as well.
Sam having a cameo in this was just awesome I did not expect that.
this game used so many tropes.
Absolutely well done having Sam in the intro.

this game looks gorgeous but lacked a bunch of features .Technical aspects asides, it felt really really rushed to the point they sold death animations as DLC, if they waited a bit longer and polished and added those death animations and new game plus on release it wouldnt receive half of the negative reviews it did, also blaming MOST negative reviews "on haters" is really disingenuous imo, in the end this game is kinda forgettable and will alway be on dead space shadow, the devs selling as a "dead space spiritual sucessor" also didnt help this game now that i think about it lol
I've been waiting for the next episode, thank you Harry))

Oof that intro. I get that you're upset people don't like the game... But it isn't a great game for various reasons. Oh well. Enjoy watching your vids either way, just don't agree with your intro on game journalists as it was more than just them that disliked the game.
Nah I get you. I’m not upset people don’t like it. It was more of a sly dig at journalists like IGN for what they did to Days Gone (one of my fave games). The reviews about optimisation are fair enough. I got a PC copy too and it was unplayable. But the issues got ironed out in a few days and plays fine now.
I loved watching you play through this on 2.0, I'm happy that you did the lore and order this fast

22:00 You said astrologist instead of astronomer...
5:40 that was actually a very smart move having the monsters take care of ferris instead of wasting energy
YYoooo the one I've been waiting for, let's gooo!

Sam witwer probably loved ur days gone video. God I want a sequel to that game.

Awesome video man I was really looking foward to this explain video
This game was a huge disappointment, both gameplay and story.
What didn’t you like about it?
Can’t believe I watched the whole video great explanation
It's kinda undeniable that this game was rushed and certainly flawed in many of it's executions. Why are you defending it so hard? Serious question.
Really liked this video. Great work lad :)
The game was ready, some dev just forget to switch the shaders to pre rendered and it got fixed within a day.
that sam witwer intro reminded me of my obsession with him in smallville! great guy.
Yeah it was not a good game or story. It’s like a 3/10
