El mejor concierto!!!! su mejor ser list, sus mejores músicos, una forma muy diferente de tocar sus temas dejando atrás el sonido de los 70s llevándolos a unas versiones frescas qué marcaron diferencia, sin duda se nota el público mexicano emocionado, Alex Ligerthwood a mi gusto, fue el mejor vocalista que tuvo, una gran voz grave y con unos agudos de miedo, si dejar de lado a Vorrice Cooper que hacía una gran mancuerna basta verlo en "Make Somebody happy" Walfredo Reyes Jr fue quien aportó al estas versiones "nuevas" con su gran batería para muestra, la inigualable versión qué si suena a samba "samba pa' ti" ese redoble de tarola qué ningun otro baterista había metido en esta canción, el gran bajista Myron Dove aporta una gran base sólida que junto a Walfredo te hacen bailar sin dudar, sin dejar de lado al máster Chester Thompson qué con ese sintetizador SY99 daba notas de fondo mientras que con su mano derecha no dejaba de tocar su órgano y generaba una atmósfera maravillosa para ejemplo "Black magic Woman" esas campanas con mezcla de cuerdas van adornando mietras Alex Ligerthwood canta el primer verso crean un misticismo a lo largo de todo el set de Gipsy Queen y Oye como va. It was the winter of 1970 my Uncle Sullivan had passed away. My Aunt and Mother had to prepare for his funeral. There brother Jim Sexton drove from San Mateo, California in a white Chevrolet Bel Air station wagon he brought my cousin J. T ( Sonny) with him. My cousin had that good hair. He was a couple years older than me and the first he wanted to do is go to the record store. So I told him how to get to Hunts Department Store. The record department was in the back of the store downstairs. There that sexy older lady who worked there yes all of us young guys was in Love with her. Sonny asked her did she have the new Santana Abbraxs . She walked to the albums and picked it up. My cousin hurried and paid almost 4 dollars for it. I honestly never heard of it. Then he drove by the liquor store of the street and got a half gallon of wine. In those days people had either old enough and would state their date of birth. But Sonny came out with that bottle. We hurried home and he put that album on my Airline record player. Then he opened thatSpanada half a G. Man after a couple glasses of that a song came on Black Magic Woman. Oh man I was lit that music had a driving force screaming guitar heaven sent, percussion, and bass taking you a higher place. And after that I was hooked. Sonny was from East LA and He drove that car like he was the only one on the road. He had my two sister and I in that car going off the road passing cars in the grass and back On. ‘Scared to death.’But I have to say that day was special. The day my cousin introduced me to Carlos Santana. My cousin gone now died on the streets of LA but I have to say he was proud to call me Cuz. And that he was coolest Cat ever. Light on the dance floor like Fred Astaire and smooth with ladies. And to think He took time to introduce me to one of the greatest guitar players of all time. Oh good hair a huge black curly Afro about a foot long. Moving on, About 2017 I had two tickets to go see Carlos Santana at Choctaw Casino in Durant, Oklahoma , compliments of Bob Pate (rip) and my brother took us. Man what a concert with the huge scenic background of Africa in the background. There were people a races there from Texas and Oklahoma. We were all one in peace enjoying one of the greatest guitar players with one of the greatest bands ever. Thank you Sonny ( rip) for introducing me to one the greatest musicians of all time. Have enjoyed Carlos' music and soulfulness since first seeing him live at MSG in NYC in October 1971. Since then, I've seen him perform live probably 40 times. No matter the lineup, his band kicks ass live. A special musical experience. Tonight I plan to attend his spiritual yet sensual music live at Red Rock in CO! since 1969, THE best concert ever! Hard to tell Carlos from Jorge. This band is numero uno! Carlos is in the top 5 in my book, he plays from his corazon! Nothing but the best! He drarws from all of the old school afro-american musicians and incorporates contemporary rock and latino musica. God gave him his talent like those of Dizzy, Monk, Buddy, and all of the God created musicans. You cant learn what he plays, its God given. I watched an interview with Neil Peart and asked about his god given talent which he replied i was neverba good drummer until i started to practice and practice and practice. I dont believe in being born with gifts he said. The more you practice the better you get
I remember this clip (Esperando) when my grandmother back in 1994 called me out and said "Come here, this is Santana" and after that solo I was hooked, now, 25 years later my oldest son listen to this and says "thanks dad, but I think I should say thanks GG (great grandma) for this..." Tanglewood 1970 con la formacion original y este concierto son dos puntas de una misma calidad y talento. Maravilloso concierto este. El set de Black Magic Woman a oye como va (con la bestial e hipnotica potencia de Gypsy Queen) es espectacular !!! Make somebody happy en su mejor version, con un solo de guitarra cosmico , de otra dimension. Neben Carlos bin ich ein großer Bewunderer von Karl Perazzo, der über jahre schon maßgeblich den Stil von der Santana Band beinflusst. Sein Timales Spiel ist für mich legendär. leider kann ich kein Spanisch um dies mit zuteilen.... Seid dem ich 16 jahre alt bin hat mich die Musuk von sanatan gefangen genommen Angefangen von der Abraxas und der Carawanserai, die damals rauf unhd runter gehört habe , Später kan dann noch die Moonflower mit Greg Walker, der für unglaublich sang, Inner Secret , supernatural etc... Ich hoffe die Santana band einmal Live zu sehen...

Have enjoyed Carlos' music and soulfulness since first seeing him live at MSG in NYC in October 1971. Since then, I've seen him perform live probably 40 times. No matter the lineup, his band kicks ass live. A special musical experience. Tonight I plan to attend his spiritual yet sensual music live at Red Rock in CO!

He drarws from all of the old school afro-american musicians and incorporates contemporary rock and latino musica. God gave him his talent like those of Dizzy, Monk, Buddy, and all of the God created musicans. You cant learn what he plays, its God given. I watched an interview with Neil Peart and asked about his god given talent which he replied i was neverba good drummer until i started to practice and practice and practice. I dont believe in being born with gifts he said. The more you practice the better you get
I remember this clip (Esperando) when my grandmother back in 1994 called me out and said "Come here, this is Santana" and after that solo I was hooked, now, 25 years later my oldest son listen to this and says "thanks dad, but I think I should say thanks GG (great grandma) for this..." Tanglewood 1970 con la formacion original y este concierto son dos puntas de una misma calidad y talento. Maravilloso concierto este. El set de Black Magic Woman a oye como va (con la bestial e hipnotica potencia de Gypsy Queen) es espectacular !!! Make somebody happy en su mejor version, con un solo de guitarra cosmico , de otra dimension. Todos los temas sin desperdicio, una joya de concierto, entre los mejores de la historia, La percusion, sin palabras !!! GRACIAS !!! Abrazo desde Buenos Aires

Even after 300 shows a year for all of these years there's still a real Spark coming through his open channel and you still feel like you're walking 3 feet above the ground after you here Carlos's music or leave one of his shows... and that's just what he wants.

Wow the bass guitar player is the best santana had since dave margin to bad he,s not with santana anymore would have loved to see him and dennis chambers together in the santana lineup, but now santana has his wife on drums(leave spouses at home) and bennie whatever on bass and of course the great raul rekow (congas) died so santanas a mediocre band now!

Das Video von dem Konzert ist wirklich super.. bei dem konzert wäre ich gerne da gewesen... Es ist quasi ein heimspile... Neben Carlos bin ich ein großer Bewunderer von Karl Perazzo, der über jahre schon maßgeblich den Stil von der Santana Band beinflusst. Sein Timales Spiel ist für mich legendär. leider kann ich kein Spanisch um dies mit zuteilen.... Seid dem ich 16 jahre alt bin hat mich die Musuk von sanatan gefangen genommen Angefangen von der Abraxas und der Carawanserai, die damals rauf unhd runter gehört habe , Später kan dann noch die Moonflower mit Greg Walker, der für unglaublich sang, Inner Secret , supernatural etc... Ich hoffe die Santana band einmal Live zu sehen...
