Carlos Santana with John McLaughlin - Live in Switzerland 2016
Latin Rock / Chicano Rock / Blues Rock / Psychedelic Rock / Jazz Fusion / Tejano -
I have been listening to his music for 50 years and I have come to the conclusion that Carlos Santana is not only a great Mexican and American musician who has pioneered an innovative fusion of rock and Latin American music. In my opinion Carlos is an exceptional person: he has an extraordinary talent for creativity and self-expression, like many other famous writers, poets, actors, singers and musicians. He is positive, vital, optimistic and passionate. I feel that the warm and vital energy that he transmits with his music is born within him and is heated in the universe to give serenity and joy to those who listen to it. Heartfelt thanks Carlos
I agree 100% Blitz....may he heal well from heart surgery...love and blessings. ❤️🙏🏼❤️

One of the greats, so sorry I missed him last summer in Wilmington NC
I couldn't agree more. would like to see him and Ricky Ricardo get together....
The American Dream! came here at age 7 and started as a dishwasher in a restaurant. very deep respect for Carlos and his family. his gift has given us a Clean heart❤
This is music about half a century old - and IT IS still crazying me!
I am so late to be here.😔😔
There is nothing like this music anymore. I could watch this all day and I just might. Talent everywhere. The Hammond organ with the spinning Leslie got me at go. It always does.
It’s all about the money these days. People with real talent know they will be screwed by the music industry that some of the less naive refuse to become apart of it. We see studio musicians that played with single named artists that doesn’t get any credit for their creative input in helping the named artist/singer achieve great success. Case in point was Butch Trucks, drummer for the Allman Brothers Band well his drumming was such a unique style that had it not been his drumming, the songs you today would have been a lot different. The only money Butch made was when he played on stage like a lot of other great musicians. Butch got tired and couldn’t keep working to sustain himself so he took his life at 69.
@@deaf19830 if you're using Butch as an example, that was those (old) days, not these days. If you don't get songwriting credits/publishing, you usually only get paid when touring.
A few years ago Carlos played at Milan behind San Siro...one of the best concerts ever seen...brilliant...Santana FOREVER....no one beats him live...
he has a good friend called Billy TeKaha (Billy TK senior) whom I've seen live and would be comparable, although billy is now starting to suffer the damages of age.
That bongo player been waiting for this moment all his life.🤩
Wow...another great Congo player and drummer. Carlos always gets the best musicians. A treat to hear John with Carlos. Carlos is on fire here. Sacalo :) just beautiful....another phenomenal Congo player :)
Hello Cate
Carlos is as great as ever, if not even better! Wonderful music, indeed.
santana not virtuoso
AMAZING FROM MICHELLE IN GLASGOW SCOTLAND ❤🏴🙏
Awesome. I have an album of them together from the early 70's. It's called "Love, Devotion, Surrender".
Ergo Proxy . Saw John play Christchurch NZ early 70's .
bridudrum I saw him play when I was in college on campus. He had the Mahavishnu Orchestra. It was at the time the "Visions of The Emerald Beyond" album came out. I had a 3rd row seat. Awesome concert. I love the "Birds of Fire" album.
I have that too. I got to see Santana as an opening act for Canned Heat and the Grateful Dead in 1969. Then I got to see John McLaughlin with Mahavishnu right after Inner Mounting Flame came out. Incredible! What a great time for music
Ergo Proxy I 63jjgggggyyy
Never seen CS, but I saw JM with the Mahavishnu Orchestra (Emerald) line up twice in the 70s and was completely blown away.
We all die - but some of us shouldn't. May Carlos Santana live as long as it's possible for a human being to live. He has overcome so much from his childhood - things I understand on a personal level - but he remains a rock - a giant. The day he dies, I will mourn as much as I have for a brother - just as I did when they announced John Lenon was murdered - had to pull off the highway and weep...
Long live Carlos Santana, and may his music never fade away.
I was fortunate enough to see theses Fantastic guitar players in the seventies.
Hello thanks for being a great fan over the years. How are you doing
@@carlossantana1829 Keeping my head up😊
@@carlossantana1829 Maestro, ever since I saw you perform Black Magic Woman at Woodstock 1969 you have been one of my all-time favourites. May you live long!
Devadip with the legendary McLaughlin, who's greatly under appreciated. John is one of the greatest guitarists of all time. Only a selected few can hold a candle to him.
OK - 43 minutes in, and Mr McLaughlin lays down some chops I recall from the Mahavishnu Orchestra days... What a great concert! Two of my favorite guitarists! And I like that all of these musicians appear to really enjoy playing with each other - no nonsense, no ego - just damn good music. Thanks to however posted this video!
John McLaughlin, wow! 74 years young (born -42).
holy shit he kills it
its so wonderful
We all have Ego's, he wouldn't be up their if he didn't, and he'd take that damn hat off 🤪
Mahavushnu's orchestra was extraordinary, to say the least.
Concert in my country, 80km from home. Listening San Carlos since 1976, super show of all those musicians. Absolute maestria.
McLaughlin should be in the rock hall for as much influence he's had not only on jazz, but also rock & roll.
McLaughlin is well versed in Spanish Flamenco guitar, there are reports that he studied under Anders Segovia.
same as Johnny Winter crying shame he died not being inducted!
sorry, no. Flamenco guitar (!) is quite different. McLaughlin knows Flamenco scales, that would be correct (he played with Paco de Lucia). Segovia is not a Flamenco player, but a classical spanish guitar player .
McLaughlin leaves me cold. Speed is not soul. And the "hall of fame" is irrelevant bullshit.
Are you saying that there is a certain amount of notes that one must limit oneself to in order to play with “soul” ? If you don’t enjoy McLoughlin’s playing, that’s one thing. But the suggestion that more notes means less soul has no validity.
I am not religious or what but Carlos was send from Heaven and his music goes right into my heart and takes me to a place I call paradise. Danke for the upload and Danke Gott fuer Musik.
Been thinking more and I am pretty sure Carlos is send by God or what we call the great spirit>> mother earth >>= Love!
Absolutely best Santana session I've ever heard.
Carlos & all his band have done so much! I love it all thru the years, never stops! And John, incredible together! I saw John with Paco de Lucia & AL DE Meola just the 3 on acoustics in New Orleans Sanger Theater in '80 - '81....serious stuff. These guys live, eat, sleep with their guitars! Such a pleasure to hear/watch! Thanks for the music! ✌😎
Popo
Cool..I saw those three same years in in San Fran
50 years a legend. God bless Carlos !
Is carlois santana a Christian?
Carlos Santana-the guitar champion! Love how he includes so many other musicians up front.❤
I can't take my eyes off you and your guitar. Best in the world. Great band. Thank you.
great concert with new arrangements. great!
It's February 2022, let's see who's still listening to this masterpiece. Beautiful live session ❤️
I've also grew up listening to his music and to this day I listen to his music, he's awesome ❤
OMG. I have goosebumps. It really doesn't get any better than this. I'm in awe.
I can't tell you how great Carlos is because you already know
🖖
Dammmmmmmmmmmnnnnnn ! Carlos kicked in straight into high gear,, Hell into high octane.... Super Fuel ! That's why we only have one Carlos ! Wow ! And the band... with right there with him.. Well done !
I believe Carlos only has one gear. lol. McLaughlin is not slouch either. An amazing concert.
I grew up on this music, and it's always been a fave, going all the way back to the first studio record (with the lion). I have to say I liked the earlier and rougher stuff better (if you like this music look up Santana at Tanglewood - the original band with Mike Shrieve, Gregg Rolie, etc. etc.), but the man has not lost one bit of quickness and talent after all this time. Remarkable.
Tanglewood Concert is a mind-blower !
Yep that Tanglewood performance is the ultimate.
The best Latin rock music ever played in this planet
Which are at second or third place.
Hey Carlos I've been listening to your music for over 30 years and I still love and yes I am Spanish American buy that don't matter your genius on the guitar and with music period is what fascinates me the most😊so just keep doing it the whole world loves you and your music so God bless you always Mel
Chicos no olviden a sus musicos❤❤❤❤❤😅😅😅🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😢

Love, Devotion, Surrender... Love is Sweet, Devotion is Sweeter, Surrender is Sweetest!
like a volcanic eruption from the beginning...an overwhelming rapturous explosion of spirit... scintillating.... euphoric...ineffably joyous beyond compare! I love that album! Mahavishnu Orchestra as well!
¡¡¡IMPOSIBLE!!!
This is an absolute classic!!!
He played with John McLaughlin,Aldimeola and many more great musicians, created different styles of superb music. Greatest Respect for him, Thank you Carlos please keep on going . ☮️✌️
Incredible energetic music!Thanks much!
No one gets out of here alive but the trip through and whats left behind is EPIC! This man is a genius!
I cannot disagree.
Are there other groups to play that kind of music?
A mix of Latin Blues Rock?
OUTSTANDING! GREAT! Concert!
🎸 🎶🎤 🎵 🎹 🎤 🎼 🎺
Muy bien ! Muchas gracias Carlos SANTANA !
Carlos and his band smile alot in this clip. 😊 Love it
Ones he played on Maui where he has a place at the Maui CC. My daughter thru an envelope on stage with some Maui Wowie I grow in the jungle of east Maui > Upper Nahiku. He smelled it and did safe it for later. He is send from Heaven. On top of everything he is deeply spiritual but open minded and enjoys home-grown. But he would alwaays smile
@@christophlieding734 😊 thanks for sharing
We saw Santana last nite at Mohegan sun in CT.... Great show Carlos still has it !!!!!
I feel emotional about this greatness. The length of his career doing his version of the afro-Cuban sound. Is that progressive rock? It was. Now it's Montreux Jazz Festival.
On top of that, I invited my widowed mother to her one and only rock concert in I think it was 1982. Santana at Pine Knob on the lawn. She and Dad used to dance to a cover of Evil Ways at the local bar.
Wonderful, the music and the feelings of my generation!
Maravilloso,Gracias Totales
Wow, wow, wow! I impressed by music and shower I means about yours sweaty due to emotions, like a motorway with open gas. Thanks for that. I lived behind an iron curtain so Carlos with his music in 70's was available mainly in Radio Luxembourg. Youngsters never understand. Carlos, Saludos, eres genial. I love also Samba pa ti and Europa. My youth.
Carlos Santana, extraordinário 👏👏👏👏
È troppo forte in tutti i sensi della.musica
😂²
I always this fantastic musicians during 70's Mc in their album Mahavishnu Orchestra as Birds of Fire with Jan Hammer, Jerry Goodman and the drums of Billy Cobham a true Rock Jazz Fusion
What a wonderful and fruitful combination :)
Along with being one of greatest guitarists to strap on an ax he’s also one of the coolest guys on the planet. Truly one of a kind. Then there’s John McLaughlin...the fact that Miles Davis named a song after him says it best.
MILES: _That's some raunchy shit, John._
MILES: Carlos, you're more than Black Magic Woman.
It,s a very nice musical harmony playing by Carlos Santana with John Mc laughlin.really,I feel everyone can enjoy so well the live.
Yeah. First time here and liking it through.
I read in a Guitar Player interview years ago Carlos Santana said he played violin in Mexico. So THAT'S where he gets his lyrical melodies that go beyond borders of Pentatonics.
I don't care who you are or where you're from that Latin feel will move you.
God bless the one and only Carlos Santana, this brother never ever disappoints 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
so true!!!
ESPECTACULAR !!!
Salute to Carlos Santana with John McLaughlin and Thanks to LIVE Music(HD) for posting. Cheers!!! from the Philippines 11/1/2023

Danke ❤
Muito, mas muito bom mesmo. Explêndido.
Bom demais...
The early Santana' s are pieces of art... 1969 - 1972
Marathon, 1979, masterpiece album, try it sometime.
What the f***
Very nice
Two of the deepest and greatest guitar masters in history reunited to bring us back to a time when love ruled the airwaves. We pray for peace bolstered by their presence and love
That organ-player is a lot sounding like the great Greg Rolie the original organist with Carlos in the 60's and beyond, but he even does things even beyond Rolie (Rolie, is great though), I can see that he is schooled in blues and JAZZ! Amazing! And the band: Wow! They are putting 100+% into the music-INCREDIBLE!!

Roleie went on to found Journey.
was thinking same! very talented and totally enjoyed his contribution.
The big band its all 100% professional with 200% of motivation and enthusiasmn. Carlos put them all in extasy with his singing guitar. He's definitely a maestro hero in guitars heaven😉❤👌👍🎯
Great concert! I love those guys deeply!
What a show! Great from start to end. We
Love you.
Just fire everywhere, what a show! 🔥
🎸✌🏽🎶💯🔥💃🏼❤️🙋🏼♂️
Thank you Carlos ! Brilliant . Beautiful live session
This is what you call a music Live music Santana forever
One big difference between Carlos Santana and his Woodstock friends is that he is still alive and playing better than ever; geezus, maestro Carlos Santana. Yes?
Yes!
Yes...being a very spritual person may have something to do with outliving many others of the class of 69 ?
Genius! Santana indeed! OLÉ
@@chrisdowell4268 and he said he had a lot of help from acid!! Carlos and Stevie Ray Vaughan are my top picks for guitar, no one moves me straight to my soul like they do 🎸💝
YES IS TRUE Gregg Rolli on Key
I feel lucky I just found this concert release.
I'm fan of Carlos since Woodstock records were on sale in Austria, my uncle had one of the earliest copies available.
Carlos is not only a performing artist, his creativity surpassing lots of music writers of his time
who disagree doesn't know anything about music
Wow! Love them all !
Great Session. When Carlos start play you know who is palying.
The very best Latin American guitarist ever and fantastic band. I have been swaying to Carlos Santana for more than 50 years and have been mesmorised since I first saw them perform live in Birmingham (UK) in the 1970s and have ever since. Nothing can ever match this music. It is soul food.
Whoa!!! That was on hell of a concert!! They left it all on the stage, damn.
How do you say? Requinto?

John, what a treat. 😊 Karl..a legend. The brass instruments are so good too. I hope I can see you all play again one day.
