Good stuff as always! I live up in the northern part of Pennsylvania, and usually fish smaller ponds without shad. Any tips for bluegill-centric fisheries would be great. And maybe a fitness series for anglers- exercise routines and how you integrate them with tournament schedules, nutrition on and off the water, etc. Thanks for the videos: they’re much appreciated!
Perfectly explained. I will be at sml in the morning. I have been haven a ball the first couple hours like you say. Caught some fish you want catch any other time, big ones. Follow the wind!
solid video dude. thank you for all the detailed tips! going to put them to the test this weekend and monday💪🏽 keep up these videos man they are awesome!
Here on the Lower Coosa (Lake Mitchell), it's a good idea to keep a fluke on at all times. Pearl, Albino, Crazy Chrome, or Silver Rainbow- depending on the sunlight in the sky- will all catch bass from the elodea, or water willow, during a shad spawn.
So proud to have you represent SML. I have grown to love that lake after cussing her for a few years. Hope to see you out there sometime. Btw you guys should do the chartreuse and white shockwave in the bigger size.
one of the craziest things ive seen- mid summer seeing a school of shad in open water jumping out of the water multiple times. of course by the time we got there the fish were full not a single bite
Great vid and info John... the shad spawn is on for sure at SML... the topwater action is insane at night currently, but the water temps need to rise some before it gets GREAT!!!
Never knew about the shad spawn. Great topic. Love it when you tell fishing stories. BTW, I like the hook shape on the ball head jig (7:20). What brand and size is it? It's great when details like that are included in the "comments below" section. I'm subscribed. Thanks.
i seen you today where in the cove where the old ice cream boat is docked. you was headed out as we was coming in the cove in the blue and white ranger
Thank you for the spinner-bait trailer hook idea with the paddle tail. Heading out to try it after dinner.
Did you try it?

Thanks!! What about these temps that are yo-yoing all over the place? Will that prolong the spawn??

You should do a series where you help anglers catch their PB, that would be amazing. You can start with me in Annapolis Maryland lol.
Very cool idea!
