This dude had FIFTEEN minutes out of three whole movies and solidified a character into Spiderman hall of Fame...
It feels a whole lot more than 15 minutes
@@localcarmechanic183 I still think he menaces.
@@localcarmechanic183📰 📸
In fairness Jonah’s always been a big character within Spider-Man’s story… it’s more that Simmons cemented himself and his portrayal as the best actor and the definitive version of the character
Casting Simmons was a great call 🙌🙌
He’s a real one for not snitching on Peter to Goblin
Yeah, he might hate Spider-Man, but even he's got some integrity to not be a snitch.
@@joeleboeuf
he doesn't know peter is spider-man
to him, he was protecting an innocent young man even if it cost him his life
@@yurifairy2969 🤦🏻♂️Goblin asked Jameson who took the pictures of Spider-Man, hoping that the photographer would lead him to Spider-Man. And since Peter took the photos, he didn't rat him out to Green Goblin. That's what I was talking about.
Even though it says Peter Parker on the damn newspaper 📰
It's old-school journalistic integrity not to reveal a source, even when pressured or threatened.
J.K. Simmons as JJJ is just pure comedy gold. I can watch an entire movie within only Daily Bugle with this man in charge.
Count me in
@@MrTrueCaller619spider-man hero or menaces 📰 📸
J Jonah Omniman
Also love how he just straight up gives Peter $300 for a single Spider-Man photo, yet gets stingy when a kid asks for $100 + extra for her camera and film.....
That sounds boring
Betty: *"Boss your wife's on the line she says she lost her cheque-book"*
JJJ: *"Thanks for the good news (smiles)"* 😂😂
That’s one of my personal favorite scenes
Yeah I also saw the video
@@ratman202good for you man
That line is so good!
J.K Simmons is perfect for Jameson he was born to play the role
It's very rare for actors to look perfectly like their comic counterparts and I love that about him. He not only looks but also was able to portray his personality perfectly as well
💯
Like his laugh at 7:00.
Hoffman pulling up within seconds of JJ calling him is such an underappreciated joke
*Milliseconds
What’s funny more is that’s the directors brother.
"your wife is on the line"
*immediately hangs up*
hilarious XD
"I trust my barber"😂
That aged well….
This is why Spiderman trilogy is the best, because it is full of iconic scenes, great acting by both main and minor characters!!
6:38 - 6:41 I never picked up that the dude is suspicious of Peter being Spider-Man. He always defends both Peter and Spider-Man, and he seems smart enough to put things together.
He knew, yeah.
@@kroneexe📰 📸 green 👺
for me it's the opposite, i never accepted that JJJ was dumb enough NOT to figure it out! i mean, just look at the picture Peter brings them, all the staff knows for sure😂😂
Yeah, sucks that the series was cancelled because they probably would explored Robbie's character a bit more.
No he thought that Peter is actually Spider-Man’s best friend and he was suspicious about why wasn’t Peter taking any photo of Spider-Man while he was fighting Doc Ock.
Jameson is many things, but a coward he is not. Even when green goblin has him in the air by his neck he doesn't rat out Peter. Still love that scene.
Nobody
*(and I mean nobody)*
can ever duplicate the acting standards of *JK Simmons as JJ Jameson.*
1:02
“Eddie’s been on it for weeks”
I never noticed that nod to Venom in Spider Man 1 huh
Yeah but then in Spider-Man 3 the black guy says "Eddie Brock, you hired him last week"
@@ablone black guys name is robbie bro.
@@Onunyalanlarınananmayın my bad homie, I didn't remember the name
@@ablone its good
and also the part when they're naming doc oc and dr strange is suggested but JJ says its already taken lol
4:46 Still the best moment imo. This was a perfect cast.
Yep 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
You could tell that Jameson does care for Peter Parker.
3:39
Green goblin was interrogating Jameson and he didn’t give up Parker
5:17
Jameson was gonna give Peter $150 but Peter asked for $300. First Jameson argued but quickly accepted and gave him $300.
And all the numerous times he firing Peter and then unfiring Peter, giving Peter opportunities and chances
Yes. Is in the comic. His attitude is all an act. He really care. Sometimes he buys pictures that are not used just to help the poor oprhan boy who lives with his elderly aunt. He was very upset when he knew he was spiderman. And the ultimate JJJ was very sad when he died.
yeah jonah got respect from me at 3:39
It's so funny because He technically can't fire Peter because He's a freelance 😂
Yet he's all stingy when a kid wants $100 for her camera....
"its all my fault, I drove spider man away.."
Peter : *takes his suit back*
Him : *THE MENACE IS BACK!!!!*
You forgot the scene during the final battle of Spider-Man 3. That's when Jameson tries to buy a camera from a girl but it doesn't have film.
Also in spiderman 2 when MJ not attend her wedding.
I was about to say, I didn’t see that scene with the final battle with venom and sandman.
@@robinsaputra1483 and a few scenes before than to
Film's extra.
"Dr. Strange?"
"That's pretty good. But it's taken."
The irony.
How does he know it's taken?
4:47 "Thanks for the good news". Excellent
7:08 "You're serious?" That will always get me. My friends and I always say that with his voice if anyone says something weird or out of line lol.
Don't forget the laugh too
Says a lot about his character though when green goblin demands he tell him who took the photos of spider man, knowing that the goblin would only go after Peter next. That short scene shows that he actually cares about the safety of his workers and he didn’t throw Peter under the bus
As well as his journalistic integrity, never reveal a source without their permission
All of his scenes are incredibly interesting when you put some thought into analysing them. Take the first scene with him and Peter, taking the photos off his hands. He initially low balls him with $200 and then tells him to take it or leave it. When Peter is prepared to leave, he offers him $300 "the standard freelance fee." Note, not for ALL of the photos, just the one they intend to print, and Robby knew this was gonna happen since he raised his hand to stop Peter as he tried to leave. He also very pointedly makes it clear that Peter is on the hook as a freelancer and not a full employee, so he doesn't have to put him on payroll or provide any benefits.
JJ is a shrew business owner. Shrewd but fair. As many have pointed out, he doesn't sell out Peter to Green Goblin despite being held by the throat. Lot of surprising depth to his character.
What I really like is his subtle anger at 13:35. Most of the time, he's comically angry, potentially putting on a show of authority for everyone around him. When he finds out that Eddie purposefully tried to defraud him, no comical scream, no freakout. Just a calm, yet authoritative and clearly livid "Pack your things. Get out of my building."
7:00 his laugh never gets old
7:01
The little wheeze he does at the start is iconic 😂

i like how this video is about jjj but you kept the epic swinging scene at 9:30
JK Simmons absolutely nailed it portraying Jameson. No one could’ve done it better than him. 4:47 is the best one still!
3:38 Jameson showed his true character in this moment :)
1:02 they said “Eddie has been on it for weeks” in Spider-Man 1 but then at 11:30 they say they hired Eddie last week in the 3rd Spider-Man. Must’ve not been the Eddie they were talking about in the first just a Easter egg
Love that JK Simmons is now the universal constant as JJJ
This video already shows why Raimi's trilogy is the best
6:38 he knows!
Eh to me I think he was more accusing him for not taking the photos cause Peter was already under a lot of pressure and down on his luck in the film.
@@gatchywatchyentertainmentb2090 In the comics he actually put two and two together and figured out that Peter was Spider-Man.
Jonah Jameson is one to talk about Spiderman being a criminal when he's basically Omni Man.
I wish there was a show that takes place in the Daily Bugle and all of New York.
I came here to say the that. It only needs the same tone and the same actors.
Naw fr that would be gold it would be better then office and they should still add peter to
I think it is very honorable Jameson protects Peter’s Identity as Spider Man’s photographer from the Green Goblin
The ONLY actor who has ever gotten close to this iconic performance is Darran Noris in Spectacular Spider-Man
Yeah, Picklepuss was spectacular. No pun intended.
Best JJJ after Simmons' one.
I'd say Insomniac Jonah is pretty darn close
Peter: “Boss, I’d like a word.”
Jameson: “How about ‘scram?’ Or two words: ‘Scram, kid!’ Or seventeen: ‘Get out of my office in 2.3 seconds or I’ll staple you to a flagpole!’”
"Slander is spoken; in print, its liable." - J. Jonah Jameson.
The ONLY casting that matched Aunt May's perfect book to film in the trilogy was Jameson.
You know what I liked about Jonah? He may have been a real dog of a bloke, but he respected whenever Peter would stand up for himself. In the first two films where Peter stands his ground on what he should be paid, Jonah relents. It's only when Peter would ASK for something "can you pay me in advance?" that Jameson wouldn't play ball. He saw Peter was a nice kid who probably let people walk all over him and wanted him to be his own man and know his worth.
Best jonah jameson scene is the entirety of the pill scene
Respect for not cutting the dance sequence
The thing I love most about Jameson in the Raimi trilogy is that even when faced with death he doesn't give up the name of his photographer.
And this is the usual heartbreaking story of every caviar-loving slander boy who has no clue what he's doing!
13:55
Reading the article shows that Jameson does know when to admit he was wrong.
Spider Man isn’t a menace! He’s just not buying what Jameson is selling and neither should anyone else!
"How can you make a side character this iconic ?"
Sam Raimi :- *YES*
(15 sec) I like 😂 how he just slams the phone once she told him, her wife's on the line.
Yeah, lol, and then him saying "thanks for the good news" when told his wife lost her checkbook
mr jameson alway's makes me laugh lol 😂
the way he staring at pete sitting on his chair😂
I absolutely love how Jonah didn't give Peter up to Osborne
He played J Jonah Jameson so good that he remained constant across three Spiderverses.
Legend
I love the fact that the man kept the evil dance even it has nothing of JJJ in it
We can get a whole movie of this guy, and it will still be a hit. He is comedy gold!
I think I'm just realizing he got a new office after Goblin trashed the first one X(
10:13 “YOU TELL MY WIFE … thank you.”
I died laughing 😂😂😂
"That's outrageous. Done" :D
I like that you make sure that every bully maguire scene was in here.....
Ms. Brant, yes get me a violin😂
You forgot the one with him paying the girl $100 for the camera
“Could you pay me in advance” Jameson: PFFTT HAHAHAHAHAH MUAHAHAHAHAHA! 😂😂 6:58
“He doesn’t wanna be famous, I’ll make him infamous” 😂😂😂😂😂😂 best quote from J Jonah Jameson
came here for the man himself JJJ... but stayed for Ms. Brantt 5:38
you forgot the scene in spiderman 3 where the kid scams jjj
Thank you. This is exactly what I was looking for.
I actually felt bad for his son in the ending of spiderman 2.
As did I. Quite shitty of MJ she's by far the worst thing about all these films.
@@gatchywatchyentertainmentb2090 I guess his son almost became Venom in Spider-Man 3, in the original script. MJ is my main issue with Raimi's Spider-Man movies. she was written so poorly.
He was a blandly-written character.
Jonah Jameson: Thanks for the good news 😂
6:41 and 9:10 really shown us a hint that Robbie know peter is spider-man.
Robbie looking up to see the window first while everyone doesn't know what happen
7:01 Jonah j Jameson laugh 🤣🤣🤣
All these years I missed the 'doctor strange' reference 6:17. Great casting.
I remember hearing that and assuming Dr. Strange was some random C-list villain lol I don't think anybody really knew who Dr. Strange was until the Avengers movies unless you were a comic book fan
What was he thinking? That he’s going to constantly defame Spider-Man and everything will be sunshine and rainbows? He’s lucky Spider-Man hasn’t sued him!
The media in a nutshell
Spiderman, in the comics, actually HAS sued him.
5 year old me: I really hate this guy
Present me: He literally is the funniest man on earth
1:08
"If we can get a picture of Julia Roberts in a thong, we can certainly get a picture of this weirdo!"
Just the delivery of that line is freaking hilarious. It makes me wonder if he improvised some of his dialogue. These movies may not be comedies, but there's definitely comedy vibes in all three films.
I can watch this all day
6:38 he knows
So does May Parker, Mary Jane, Harry Osborne, and Matt Murdock.
"I'll give you a hundred-fifty."
"Three hundred."
"That's outrageous. Done."
"Give this to the girl. Thank you, byEeE-bye."
Idk why but this exchange is sending me 😭
Say what you want about Jameson but when Green Goblin threatened him to give up Peter, he didn’t hesitate to protect him. Even under the threat of violence he still lied for him.
7:00 if weren’t for this scene that meme would’ve existed
At 7:30 when Jameson says if you have a head of an Extraterrestrial and Men In Black is now owned by Marvel Comics does that means the MIB are in the Raimi universe ?
Man, J.K. Simmons is Perfect as J. Jonah Jameson, Nailed It!😄👍

Am I the only one who remembers JJ saying “I knew you two were in cahoots”instead of “I knew you two were in this together” or am I just confused? It just seemed more fitting to JJ character
Mr Jameson, your wife is on line one, she needs to know if-...
Perfect cast
Fun fact: J.K. Simmons is voicing Omni Man in Invincible.
That's why I say Jonah Jameson is Omni Man.
If Marvel can make useless shows then they can also make a show about the Daily Bugle.
So why havent they done one?
What's missing from Spiderman 2 is call Deborah his wife said the caterer? Tell her not to open the caviar.
'what , you looking for a raise , get out?'😂
3:30
I gotta admit, i jumped the first time i saw this scene.
Him hanging up about his wife in the beginning 😂
😂love this dude
I can't imagine anyone to play JJJ in spiderman movie but him
Are you going to update this in regards to Far from Home and No way Home?
Ay he stood up for peter with the green goblin XD or maybe not i didnt finish the scene, I HAVE to rewatch the movie!
