Nice comparison! Both sound very similar although the Dimarzios seem to have a little more output. The stock neck pickup sounds fantastic! If I were to choose, I'd save my money and stick with stock.
Yeah I definitley prefer the Dimarzios, but the stock pickups are still pretty darn good. Dimarzio was running a sale back in December where you could get 25% off your entire order, so I picked up these. As much as I prefer the Dimarzios, I think it would be pretty hard to justify paying full price to swap out the stock SBMM JP pickups, although I bet you would hear more of a difference if you got Illuminators or one of his other pickups.
im thinking about to change to the liquifire/crunchlab. is it a easy change or do i need some more stuff ?like capacitor an things like that. or easy stock out/ dimarzios in. ? thanks for the video it helps a lot. no one in forums are talking about to do the change only talks about the sound. 😅 have a crunchy week Jones
Hey it’s been a while since I did the swap, but I seem to remember it being a pretty straightforward replacement. Just follow the diagram that comes with the new pups and you’ll be golden.
Maybe the Crunch Lab is worth changing.. but otherwise .. hardly tell the diff on the neck pups. Dimarzio is brighter for sure.. hardly worth the effort. I might look at an Air Norton

Thank you for doing this! I think the Dimarzio are slightly sounds bright compared to stock pickup.

I love the original pickups, they take distortion like a dream I can’t find a reason to change them out
there is a difference for sure in the lows of the crunch labs and liquifire`s. I like it. great video
Dude I like the sounds .. it makes you wanna let loose
Stock pickups sound good. The Dimarzios are a bit more focused with a great blend of clarity and dirt.

Great video man, just picked up a JP60 .. had visions of changing the pickups straightaway. Now I’m not so sure?!?
Honestly it’s a noticeable difference, but it’s not huge. Perhaps the difference would be more pronounced if I was using a tube amp instead of a POD.
nice sounding

Does anyone know if I can add a split coil feature to my existing jp60 pickups or I need to upgrade to something like this demarzios?.... great video
If it is a four conductor pickup you can.
yeah you can, i did on my jp60, clean tones sound great with the split coils but you wont find any difference on the over drives.
Pod into amp or direct ?
