I remember my mom saying " oh the doctor said you have ADHD but i don't believe it" but as I grow older it makes more sense that the signs are becoming more apparent
I told my mother I might have ADHD. Been telling her for a few years. Last week she said “you were tested as a baby, you don’t have it.” Like as if you can’t develop ADHD later in life? She just doesn’t want to admit that I actually have serious problems.
It's not easy having ADHD, I wanna clean my room, but the stress of my room not bring clean makes me unmotivated so it's an endless cycle of not cleaning my room, the same goes with other things, but another big trait of ADHD is the willingness to help others we get enjoyment from helping others, I don't want to clean my room, but I'd clean a messier room just for the gratification of helping someone
i love writing so much. but it only discourages me when i remember i’m only good energy boosts. i can’t work on writing: i just love writing. no matter how hard i try, i can’t get myself to chain myself in my bed and just write.
Its hard to self diagnose adhd correctly since its something that have a lot of symptoms that appear 'normal' or can appear from boredom, not caring and even sleep problems. Then again adhd can cause all of those things. So id reccomend u go check it out with a professional:) Its ok to make mistakes but its important to understand urself as best as u can
There is nothing wrong with going to a doctor and ask to test if you have it. Afterall if you yourself have a suspecion that you may have it, its better to let a professional look into it. Wish you and everyone else good luck!
“Brain fog” is a terrible symptom of ADHD. It makes you feel like you’re drunk, you can hardly think and sometimes hardly even see because you can’t focus on anything, a true catatonic state. Edit: I’m glad so many people can relate!
For a person that is diagnosed with ADHD, I find this pretty accurate. The lack of motivation is the most one probably for me. Motivation is the worst for me ever, I really don't get anything done because I just won't feel like it and the next day I feel sad because I didn't get it done. I take medicine for it, and I have a wonderful mother and father who knows how to deal with it perfectly.
@@summy-q2o oh I'm sorry to hear that, depends how old you are, but you can always speak to your counselor at school. I don't know who you are, but I have a feeling like you can make it, you can do it.

I’m 13, and i relate to all of these. I’m thinking of asking my parents to take me to the doctor to see if I have it or not. The one I relate to most are innatentivness, and hyper focus. Whenever i’m in school or talking to someone about something i’m not really interested in or don’t care about, i tend to zone out or be distracted by something else. But if I am working or talking about something i’m interested in I tend to listen very closely. I do still zone out when talking, but while working I focus very hard on it and don’t care about anything else around me. Thank you for showing these, it really helps, thank you ☺️

I was severely traumatized years ago as a teenage, got diagnosed with ADHD. Spent my whole life fighting ADHD. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder, Not until my wife recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Never thought I would be saying this about mushrooms.
I'm so very happy for you, Psilocybin is absolutely amazing, the way it shows you things, the way it teaches you things. I can not believe our world and our people shows less interest about it's helpfulness to humanity. It's love. The mushrooms heals people by showing the truth, it would be so beneficial for so many people, especially politicians and the rich who have lost their way and every other persons out there.
Hey mates! Can you help with the source? I suffer severe anxiety, panic and depression and I usually take prescription medicine, but they don't always help. Where can I find those psilocybin mushrooms? I'm really interested in treating my mental health without Rxs. I live in Germany don't know much about these. I'm so glad they helped you. I can't wait to get them too. Really need a reliable source 🙏
Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

I’ve noticed all the patterns in my brain and I can see the world like everyone else can. ADHD isn’t only bad. I like to see it as a super power sometimes. The creativity and pattern recognition is crazy and I dont know how to explain it other than some people will think I’m dumb one second and a genius the other.
to everyone saying self diagnosis is a horrible thing to do. take into consideration that diagnosis isnt a right but a privilege. not everyone is in the financial state where they are able to get a diagnosis or if theyre a minor the people around them may not allow them to get diagnosed. im not saying that you can go around diagnosing yourself with no reason but keep this in mind when you shame someone for not having a diagnosis.
fr, i have severe anxiety but was told "oh we don't want to put a label on it" which restricts me from proper care and medication. we love the NZ mental health system :))
I had to "self diagnose" in order to see a psychiatrist and eventually get an official diagnosis. I did months of research. Well-researched self assessment is a good thing.
Dont go around saying you have a disorder if you don't have a diagnosis it can really annoy people who actually have been diagnosed bc your just guessing
Don't worry, I managed to finish colledge, only for the harder subjects I needed ritalin. If you have trouble with learning I really recomend takeing ritalin
I can relate. Not with ADHD but autism. 19 and only now am I diagnosed and only because I learnt it was hereditary and decided to seek out and pay for a private psychologist (I'm from the UK so things normally go through public health). I've always had poor social skills and mental problems, grew up with no friends and needing speech therapy, AND when I spoke to my mum about autism I found out that I got referred for an autism diagnosis when I was 5 but public health were just like "eh, they aren't THAT bad, they're probably just shy or something" without actually following the assessment. It's not fair that this kinda thing happened.
I was recently diagnosed with ADHD and can relate to a lot of these, especially mood swings. I sometimes would go from calm and happy to suddenly furious, and then a minute later I'm about to cry.
I was diagnosed with ADHD at a young child. This makes me feel better knowing ADHD has other things than just the stereotypes of being confused with autism..
And here is a little unknown fact, ADHD used to be categorized with autism but a scientist change to that because the key difference is the fact of autistic people not understanding emotions very well in Social environments.

True and sucks even more when people out there don't understand you and just throw labels at yah making you feel worse, but I'm not saying this to make you agree with yourself, it's ok to feel that way, just don't let the ADHD label to become an excuse, you just have to work harder than everyone else, Howie Mandel has ADHD too and he's famous, if he can become something in life, you can to, Don't let ADHD define you, become the person you want to be and work towards it, you have to fall before you can stand up only weak people stay on the ground, but you must stand and walk forward!!

Yes ADHD is 'relatable' to most people, because most of the symptoms are things we all may experience from time to time. With ADHD we experience these things so strongly and so often that it affects our lives every day, some days are good and some days we can barely function. It is a disorder when it is disrupting your life.
Yes I have adhd, and it’s kind of annoying seeing people in these comments saying they might have it… because some people do experience some but not as much is people who actually have adhd, and they say they can relate to EVERY SINGLE ONE but adhd is different between male and females

My recovery journey was greatly enhanced by the therapeutic benefits of mushrooms. Other psychedelics like DMT and LSD have also proven to be remarkable.
I never got diagnosed but through out my whole childhood, teachers will often ask questions if I have ADHD when I was very little. My mom would yell at them saying I’m perfectly healthy normal child. I found out a few years later half of my family is diagnosed with ADHD, even my own little brother. I’m now going to college, and a teacher told me I need to get properly diagnosed.
I’m so sorry that happened to you. I’m thankfully getting a diagnosis in October, but when I was young people would write me off as chatty/hyperactive and I’d get in trouble a lot, but no one ever mentioned anything. My mom gaslit me about it, first saying I might have it, then saying I didn’t, then mentioning I had it and when I told her she said I didn’t have it, she said “it’s just not as bad as yor brothers, I never said that.) just recently out of my 17 years figured out BOTH of my brothers have it INCLUDING my mom (and my dad shows a lot of symptoms but never bothered to get tested). Thankfully they finally listened after me pestering for over 5 years, and my therapist and counselors advocating for me. I hope all goes well for you though!
Same, in the 5th grade, my teacher gave my mom a whole referral to get me checked out for ADHD and instead, my mom ignored it. Years later; I’m getting really bad symptoms and she’s talking about how it’s a mental illness that’ll ruin my life if I get it diagnosed so 😐
Yeah, sounds like you might wanna get that checked and correctly diagnosed. I've been seeing the same psychiatrist for like 20yrs, and my whole life I've suspected I had ADD or ADHD, but we were more focused on my anxiety and severe depression! I guess it's time I asked! Take care all! ✌🏻😁
I have a love hate relationship with my hyperfocus. I love being able to focus on something and learn everything about it for hours on end but hate not being able to tear myself away from it and have it affect my work and relationships.
right it makes me feel so bad when people think i’m ignoring them or being passive aggressive with short responses cause i’m hyper focused :/ or when i hyper focus on cleaning and organizing my whole room and closet instead of doing my homework
The worst part of it is probably forgetting to care of yourself lol. I always forget to eat or sleep or do ther stuff I was supposed to. Dunno if I have ADHD but I definitely hyper focus a lot.

Yeah it’s always fucked me up. After hearing that I can help it so many times I just gave up. I don’t know how to help it and I got sick of adults in group therapy asking other kids what they thought of my attitude. Wish I was diagnosed, maybe then I’d have had a therapist that knew what they were doing.
I had it when I was a child and when I turn 18 my dad would be like oh your brain has improved there's nothing wrong with you it's your video games. He is not a doctor. And thinks oh you don't have it because it doesn't affect you when your playing video games
Im constantly being called lazy and half arsed because i dont have the motivation to do things. I have a lot of trouble focusing and keeping my mind on one task. I forget very easily, and I usually get a bit of a lecture about it. “Just remember then.” “Stop fidgeting.” “Pay attention.” “Stop doing that.” “Are you ignoring me?” Its getting really difficult right now, and i dont know what to do. Im always worried what others think about me, and sometimes i even make up lies to seem like a cooler, better person. Its so stressful, its really interfearing with my education. But my parents arent really big believers in disabilities, and think the whole spectrum thing is bullshit. And i get annoyed by the smallest things, like one minute im happy, i then get annoyed and angry by the smallest thing, and then im sad because i feel bad, although i did nothing wrong? Its really annoying me, sorry for this little vent, i really needed this. I do not have ADHD, but latley i have seen videos like these and am starting to wonder, “is this me?” Sorry for this big ass paragraph
No need to apologize ! Thank you for sharing your feelings :) I think I have similar situations where I feel little to no motivation at all to do tasks (even eating healthily seems often difficult). Recently I noticed how I could go from satisfied or content to disappointed and ashamed in the same day while socializing. And I can't stop thinking about what I did wrong in the day and reminscing old memories where I found myself unattractive or hateful. I can't get peace in my mind when I don't do something or I can't focus on a simple thing because I suddenly feel the need to review these old memories again when... I'm not supposed to? It's confusing and I can't totally move on from my mistakes and actions from before. I thought facing them but how? Do other normal people do that? At this point I think therapy is needed because I need clear answers about my behaviour and unhealthy state of mind. And sorry for my mistakes I haven't wrote in english in a long time lol

I understand you’re struggles. I was diagnosed with ADHD and other disorders in my second year of Elementary. The thing that helps me the most with focus is by playing with my rings during my sessions. I also enjoy doodling while listening to the lecture. Some days when I really can’t focus I like to give my brain a break and close my eyes. To help my memory improve I would say my locker combination out loud the right way then backwards.
No worries! I feel the same exact why but I don’t know what to do either. But if you know your parents will listen tell them or search for way you can solve your problems.😁👍🏾

one thing i think is really interesting is how often young girls aren’t diagnosed with adhd. as kids boys being loud and disruptive is respected and “boys will be boys” and they get diagnosed and taken care of, but with girls they’re told to mask it, stay quiet, therefore they’re heavily under diagnosed. idk i just thought that was kinda interesting

Alright, so here's how my day has went so far: 1. Stay awake for at least 12 hours before even thinking about actually being productive 2. Randomly decide you want to learn the ENTIRE dragon language from the video game Skyrim, and spend about an hour learning proper pronunciation but specifically the direct translation of words from that language into your own 3. Attempt to start virtual work for high school, and promptly forget it and watch RUclips 4. Remember dragon language, become fascinated in it again 5. Back to RUclips spontaneously, watch a bunch of Shorts, then find this video Edit: I will be on medication soon for potentially ADD. More testing needs to be done, and don't be fooled, this process is tedious and long. To be diagnosed to the point where something is done, they have to figure out and map your full psyche, and do testing with medication and so on. Many, many steps are required for anything of value to be done. Edit 2: I have ADD. I am currently on Adderall, but it's at such a high dosage that I'd die of exhaustion or starvation from its side effects, but other than that it makes me relatively normal (assuming normal is almost superhuman when those aspects of my brain are unhindered). Also, all that bullshit about "mapping your psyche" is completely wrong, I just assumed that because of the articles I read and my ignorance of the actual process, they did a lot more than they actually ended up doing. In reality, they just did some screenings for symptoms of ADD/ADHD and then trial-and-errored until the desired effects were achieved (still an ongoing process but this one works as a tool).

I hate it when neurotypical people say to neurodivirgent people, "just make a planner and lists to get more organised" BECAUSE IT DOESN'T WORK. Here's some advise from a neurodivirgent person: people with ADHD, try not taking your shoes off when you get home to stay in the flow of things, and maybe then you might actually do the dishes.
THANK YOU OMG legit my parents are like, "write down your thoughts :DD" "Use a planner it will help" NO no it doesn't help because it feels like an extra unnecessary task i have to accomplish when instead i could sit here and look at my ceiling in a state of emotion turmoil. Writing in a journal or keeping a diary are to long term for them to be able to help me, it has to be one step at a time and i hate that people cant seem to understand that.
Yeah, I agree. The amount of times my school told me, ''MaKe a PLaNner to StudY'' made me want to punch a wall. [I never studied qwq] but there's something that works for me. Keep a pack of sticky notes and/ or a small notebook, like small. Because they're small items, it feels like I CAN just write down something real fast and not ruin the flow of my day.
What my parents don’t realize is that there are different types of ADHD. Me, I have inattentive ADHD. And watching this even when I am diagnosed has helped me understand it more considering I struggle with all of these. I would get called “Lazy” or doing half of The work. Or just not being able to clean my room efficiently, weather it’s only a little dirty or more severe. Again, this video actually helped me learn about more of my symptoms so thank you for making this video!
@@Redkarmaa I did too, turns out they don’t use the term anymore. I learned that from a video on TikTok (a professional) and she said they just use the term ADHD because there are two kinds

My high school kept constantly contacting my dad throughout the years saying “you need to get your daughter tested we can see she’s struggling” and he kept getting angry at them each time saying “ no she hasn’t I’m not getting her tested” now I’m struggling so much to function properly as an adult, if I’d of gotten the help I needed as a child I would’ve probably been able to finish school and not fail, and obviously if you fail school you most likely will end up with a standard minimum wage job, idk I feel like it ruined me a little
I'm sorry to hear that. In my case, I'm kind of grateful I wasn't diagnosed at an early age because a lot of people would have doubted my ability to finish school. When I got diagnosed for a learning disability in college, a college counselor for people with disabilities didn't think I could complete a degree I wanted to pursue so I ended up taking something else. After I got diagnosed with ADHD my mom didn't think I could have a regular job. She wanted me to look for a job best suited for ADHD people. Personally, that made me feel worse because I know I am pretty capable. I've even been evaluated on my skills at a center. I did pretty good. It's just hard sometimes. But I can also see how it can be bad to be diagnosed with ADHD so late. I mean, I was in my 30s when it happened. I didn't get the help I needed too but I also think of all the medication I would've taken.
Its horrible that your parent never helped you, but sitting on it wont either. While what you said might be true, it would be best if you focus and set your mind on the small things you can do to help yourself and make life a bit easier and more doable right now. :) I know im late to your comment, but i just wanted to tell you that. Hope it helped?
I’m quite young compared to you. My mother also has mental disorders such as bipolar disorder and my grandma never had her put on meds and she’s not physically okay a lot of the time because of that. I can't really control myself and my mom keeps telling me "you're supposed to be smart, so why are you acting so pathetic and stupid?" And I usually can't explain, how I do what I do.
You are more than your academic level, which is also probably really good. My parents would whip me harshly for getting bad grades but I couldn’t focus because of bullying, lack of sleep and being hungry. Those factors had a party with my ADHD almost everyday at school. I was just diagnosed with ADHD today! My previous diagnosis were OCD and a tic disorder, turns out it was just ADHD that I heavily masked for most of my life because I grew up in an abusive household where my parents bullied me about my ADHD traits, especially the hyperactivity. I feel like I finally understand why my time management, organization, and motivation skills have always been so bad no matter how hard I've tried to improve. So much makes sense now!
I wish you the best if Luck😘 I know it's not easy to grow up in an abusive household. Aim for amazing goals and be proud of yourself for every step you take towards that💝
This is what I also lived through. Parents were mentally abusive and alcoholic narcissist so gaslighting and mental abuse were motivated by my careless forgetfulness, mistakes, inattentiveness, and disorganization.
After watching this I can say that I do NOT have adhd, but I have a friend who does so I kept watching to see some things that she has to go through (I found out when I asked her why everyday she went to the nurses office and she said to get her medicine for her adhd) so thanks for the info!
I’m not diagnosed with ADHD and I am not self diagnosing. But I have felt like I needed to get tested and this video has inspired me to do more research. Thank you!
One thing I've learned having been diagnosed with both ADHD and Anxiety, is that the procrastination comes from the ADHD, and the worry about how I have no motivation to do things until last minute is the Anxiety. They work against each other in that way.
I’m not allowed to have a therapist so I’ve been seeing my school therapist without my parents knowledge. I watch these videos for educational purposes because I know people that have things like BPD and ADD/ADHD and so forth, so I like to learn about them so I don’t step out of line with them, but this is something I am most concerned about for me. My whole life I’ve been told to “pay attention”, “stop spacing out”, “quit fidgeting”, “do one thing at a time”, “how is your room already a mess”, “why are these assignments not done yet” it just goes on an on and I been like that since I can remember. I’ve tried saying it’s not my fault, because I didn’t know why all this was happening, I’ve lost a lot of friends because they think I’m selfish or that I don’t pay attention to or care about them and it just makes it worse. I had to rewatch parts of this video because I kept spacing of to something else or forgetting what the narrator was talking about there’s so many things that I can’t even explain and it feels like everything is just crumbling away right below till I fall and I don’t get back up.. because of this everyone is always mad at me and constantly asking me what I think I want and need and I don’t know. I just don’t know
ik how u feel :( ive been going through the same, though im allowed since it happened due to bullying and having a disabled sister they know that i have troubles etc and because of my mental health getting affected even when im starting to get better, my "therapist" thinks i have a mental disability and because my sisters autistic its most likely adhd apparently. ik how it feels, and its even scarier when it starts to sink in and you're like damn.. im a bit scared.. but you finally find out why youve been having these difficulties and youre relieved but scared cause its like oh no.. what about the future and how will this affect me.. (also irrelevant but aaa i loveee ur sakura pfp i see so many ppl who hate her and finally i see someone who doesntttt)
I'm diagnosed with ADHD , some people think I always lie about this disorder. And I talk a lot so people get really quickly annoyed with me. But I hope you have a great day to these who read my comment!
As someone who has ADHD let me say this, when we take medication we don’t just stop having ADHD for a certain period of time, instead what the medication does is strengthen your hyper focus which will keep you on task but will also make it difficult to do anything other than that task. It might be different depending on who you are and what medication you take but that’s just what I see most often.
I am diagnosed with ADHD and I can say it is a personal hell. Your mind races so fast some of your thoughts will even shock you. You get pointed out for doing things like talking fast or tapping your foot or for me ( making weird noises with your mouth) it makes me super self conscious and brings down my self esteem sometimes… I feel like I have to try so much harder to do things some people have no problem doing simply because I CANT FOCUS AT ALL. I start doing one thing and I end up starting like 4 other things in my process. There has definitely been times I’ve broken down and cried and hated myself but.. I try and look at the positives, I can multitask really well because I can’t focus on one thing at a time so multiple things actually (ironically) makes it easier. I feel like I’m getting that “flow” some people are able to easily get. I’ve taken medication and it helps but it can cause you to become dependent because it helps so much if you don’t take it or if you lose it you start to notice your ADHD tendencies A LOT more. It makes you feel dumb but hey I’m here to tell you, you aren’t alone. There are others out there struggling in silence. Some don’t even know they have it but we can support eachother and try and understand eachother and we can do this. Keep going no matter what.
I can definitely relate to you. ADHD is a living hell. I was diagnosed in first grade and I've come up with ways to help stop myself from doing these things unintentionally. I overthink ALOT and it prevents me from doing stuff, but as I said, I have ways around it. Stay strong! We'll get through this together!
I don’t know. I relate to a lot of symptoms but I also don’t relate to a lot of them. I can focus and I always accomplish tasks, but I also need constant reminding and it’s hard to remember to do the tasks. I’ll probably talk to my therapist about it to see. Thanks for the video!
I have ADHD My friends have ADHD We would go from happy, sweet, funny, and positive conversations, to just down right venting. But, I’ve never been so understood around anyone except for them. I love my friends.
Me and my sister have adhd and asd, and I hear this all the time. Especially since my sister is 3 years younger than me, and is therefore a teenager. The people that's supposed to be professionals, and have to help her (because she's a "child"), keeps going on and on about routine and planning, even though they know her brain doesn't work like that. Adhd and asd is a wierd combo, and in our way, routine doesn't help. They don't understand how a routine can also be flexible and isn't necessarily only one way, and they are the ones who are supposed to know this. It confuses me so much, like just let us be in peace without having to hear routine, routine and routine on repeat. Sorry for the little rant if anyone reads this😅 Also sorry for my english and grammar, I'm not a native speaker 😊
@@stopminormutilation i really want to try see if i can get a diagnosis, but my parents will not believe me, and will think i’m joking or doing it for attention :/ doctors aren’t always an option. not saying i’m diagnosing myself or anything, i haven’t looked into it a lot
I am almost entirely certain I have ADHD based on all the research I have done on it, and it has really been impacting my life. I haven't gotten it checked out yet because the main thing I'm scared of is telling my parents. I know it is for my mental status and things like that and there is nothing for them to get mad at me about, but I'm pretty sure they won't do a thing about it. I have already told my parents that I might have ADHD and I told them a while ago, but they just laughed at me and said I don't have it. And I agree, I was stupid to think I had ADHD back then because I had done little to no research about it, but I don't know if that is going to happen again. I'm scared they are just going to laugh at me again like they did last time and that all the research I did about it will be useless and a waste of time. I really don't want to talk with them about it much either because they don't believe in a lot of things, especially some mental illnesses or other things of that sort. What should I do because I think this problem is going to weigh down on me more and more the more I ignore it.
I did my research on ADHD after not being able to understand why I had such an hard time doing A N Y T H I N G: I knew it couldn't be depression because I have also experienced it, and I've only noticed worsening of my traits/symptoms that I experience daily, and this since childhood. After almost an year, I was sure: it was ADHD. I self-diagnosed with ADHD because I related with every single thing, and everything applied to me. After coming to that conclusion, I started searching for places where they could diagnose ADHD, but most places were all booked or reserved to children. I'm still struggling with being undiagnosed and having to deal with myself, but since I was tired of struggling to no end, I've decided to try following ADHD-focused pages, and I have to say: they really helped a lot, because their tips were actually working for me, and their explanation on things I experienced (and still experience) was a relief in many cases, as I wasn't wrong or broken, but rather different, and in many other cases it helped me understand myself better and work on methods and tips on how to deal with everyday life and tasks. My suggestion is: try searching for ADHD pages and channels, even if you're not (medically diagnosed as) ADHD, and see if they have suggestions that work for you. Remember, an ADHD brain is generally low on dopamine, which is the hormone for satisfaction, so try to take it in consideration when you want to do a task, and find ways to make the task enjoyable, or at least doable and bearable. Try also not to beat yourself down too much if you even struggle starting a chore. I believe in you :)
This makes me so relieved that this is actually something lots of people experience and it’s not just a matter of having trouble focusing or being lazy.
I was diagnosed as ADHD as a child, dropped out of HS because I couldn’t focus, and joined the army. I still have a hard time, was diagnosed with BP1 and PTSD, and OCD. Now, 19 years later, I am enrolled in college and almost finished with my BSc, then onto my Masters degree! You can do it! It’s hard sometimes, but you can reach out and ask for help! Someone will understand! My college granted me an accommodation for ADHD, so I have more time for assignments and tests. Thank you for your videos!
I have a few of the signs mentioned in this video. I think I'm going to talk to my parents about it, and if I end up officially diagnosed and I get help, the I can make my life better more smoothly. (I'm a 20-year-old with Autism, and I still haven't got a driver's license, nor did I get a chance to go to college since graduating in 2020) Thanks for this video!
I have this problem like that but with my passions. One week I will love dubstep and want to produce it. Then I’ll hit a 3 day confusion period where I don’t know myself, and then I’ll get obsessed with metal music, then after that I’ll get obsessed with liminal spaces and trying to make them. I never can finish any project that I start because I end up not liking it anymore
BROOOOO OMG I THOUGHT THAT WAS JUST MEEE!!! i didnt know later that it was actually a sign of adhd but i used to be obsessed with some things for like a few weeks, and then suddenly, i just stop?
exactly me (but with different passions) One day I want to program a game in C++, then I forget about it for a while, and I think about this wouldbuilding project I had, so I start documenting but then I think it is annoying without a computer (I didn't have acces to my computer), And now I am, or maybe not anymore, in that robotics project... Idk if I have ADHD, but english is a cool language, my keaboard is noisy and my familly is sleeping.
The first sign was being inattentive and as soon as it said that I kid you not I went “ this is boring” then clicked out only to come to a self realization of what had just happened 💀
The problem is someone who doesn't have ADHD can look at these symptoms and come to the conclusion that they have it where they only show mild symptoms or "normal" behaviour. For example I see myself in a lot of these, especially disorganisation, impulsivity and unmotivated but I don't believe I have ADHD (although I've never been checked and because I did well in school and a have never been hyperactive I never will) It's important to understand that showing signs is not the same as having a mental/behavioural disability (or however its classed) and you should never self diagnose anything
Thank you, that's exactly what I thought, just that I don't wanna be disrespectful to who has adhd so I just try not to think that I have, im weird i know
“Self diagnosing” means nothing for MOST NORMAL PEOPLE that aren’t buying illegal drugs. You still have to go through a battery of tests and professional help to diagnose and treat. Acknowledging and being honest with health care professionals is a GOOD THING.
I have ADHD and have always done extremely well in school and I do experience almost all of the symptoms explained in the video. I also have never been hyperactive because hyperactivity is one of the three types of ADHD. There’s hyperactive, inattentive, and a combination of the two. The type I have is inattentive, it’s a lot harder to diagnose and is more presented in the female sex (which I am). A lot of people who have inattentive type ADHD, don’t get diagnosed until they’ve reached adulthood (especially when they do well in school) because it’s not nearly as visible compared to hyperactivity. The only reason I got diagnosed so early on is because I recognized some of those symptoms and out of curiosity I asked my parents if I could get a diagnosis just to be sure. Turns out I did! I got prescribed a medication and take it every morning before I go to school, it’s helped so much and has made life easier for the better. Hope this reply helps you! :)
This story is kinda long so my bad 🤷♀️ As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD I was crying watching this video because I only saw the video as of how different I am from normal people. when I was a kid in elementary school I was never able to make friends as easily as other people because of my ADHD (ADHD can affect everyone differently this is just how it was for me). I always struggled with socializing with other people I would struggle to talk them and Learn more about them. So as a kid I only grew up with 2 friends at most at a time and even after time those friends left me because they couldn’t understand (They told me that they didn’t think I cared because I talked so much about other things). So not only did I lose the only friends I ever had I also had bad grades and wasn’t musically or athletically talent either. I went Into a small depression after awhile. I started to hate myself so much, I though I was complete garbage and a waste of air. So after a while (yes a whole year and a half of being alone) I finally worked up the courage to find new friends that I could hangout with and thank God I found 2 new friends, but then the pandemic hit. But still I tried to stay friends with these people because I didn’t want to be alone. So when the school year started again I would have friends to hangout with and not be alone. Now it’s been 4 years and I still have the same 2 friends I made before the pandemic they understand me and I couldn’t be more grateful. Sometimes there just needs to be bad before there’s good.
@1Casey Lopez i don't know if i have adhd but... i agree with the comment up, I'm still struggling with socializing and befriending people, my focusing is really bad still... i got alot of bad grades and got my mother disappointed in me, always have the "i will finish this task first" but end up either forgetting it or do another tasks, I'm always forgetful people complain about how bad i am at doing anything even myself, i struggle with this alot since i was a kid and still..
@1Casey Lopez i hope so! thank you so much! i always forget where i put my phone so yesterday i accidentally pushed it and i broke the screen 😅 but thank you for this! i needed it! :D
This hit close to home. I'm a highschool student as of now and I was diagnosed with ADHD at 5 years old (which is amazing fact considered I'm a female). I have always struggled with staying interested in school and tend to get in trouble for skipping ahead on my work. I also had bad grades last year and the year before because I hated wasting my time on homework when I could draw, practice playing trumpet or watch anime. It got to the point where I'd get all of the things for my hobbies taken away until I did my work. But thankfully in highschool grades are weighted and homework only counts for 5% of my grade.
I definitely need to get tested because this is exactly how my life went like Word for Word it’s crazy. It was so hard for me it’s still really hard I’m so sorry you had to go through these struggles
the hyper focus thing is so true- i got diagnosed a while ago with severe adhd and i sat down on the couch today to watch AOT and i was gonna watch like 1 or 2 episodes and i ended up watching 2 seasons of it- I GOT OFF THE COUCH 7-8 HOURS LATER
Undiagnosed and untreated ADHD can lead to depression. Depression has similar symptoms, but it will worsen the ADHD symptoms. I was diagnosed with depression first and treating it didn't fix anything, but I kept going to the doctor and asking for help (don't be ashamed to ask for help!) and when we talked about ADHD, that's when it finally made sense.
Same I was diagnosed when I was little and it’s just gotten worse but my parents don’t believe me and think it’s went away and all I want is to take meds again. Sorry rant
@@comicallychrome8941 I'm sorry your parents don't believe you. It's one of those diseases that can be frustrating to deal with especially when it gets worse.
I’ve been in a relationship with someone who has ADHD and Depression. So this really helps me to comprehend and even be aware of what’s going on around him. Anyway I keep helping and praying for him including everyone who have it. 😇 Have a great day everyone! And may God bless us all 🥰
Education is always the best thing to do when you are with a partner who has a issue that you may or may not fully understand. I'm certain they'll appreciate that too.
i relate to most of these symptoms, and the possibility of me having adhd has been in my mind for the past 6 months tbh however i believe im just overlooking things or being dramatic, since this could just be me and my normal everyday behavior): thank you very much for making such informative vid tho, it’s very appreciated !
I mean, it may help to consider that ADHD isn't something separate from your everyday life. If these fit your everyday behavior, it only increases the likelihood of ADHD. Everyone may experience some of these symptoms sometime in their lives, but when it occurs on a regular basis at an extreme, that's when we consider it to be ADHD.
I feel the same way, I’ve been thinking about the symptoms I might be showing and all I can think of is ADHD . I Need to probably get it checked out but am scared I might not have and that’s just who I am
Thank you for the video. You did however miss a big one - bad time management ( or "time blindness" ). It is very common for ADHD and it really is a big one, it does affect everyday life a lot.
I can’t organize my life. That’s why I’m _always_ late when I have an appointment or something... That’s also part of the reason why I couldn’t keep a job for a very long time.
Do you ever just forget something exists? Like for exemple I wanna eat a snack but I finish a game before I do and next thing you know is that I realize a week later that I still haven't eaten the snack.
Oh ! I have that too and I recently found out that's called object permanence. When something is out of sight you forget it's existence. A person without ADHD will probably remember it but those with ADHD struggle with object permanence.
holy fucking shit all the time. i feel so frustrated because on most mornings i forget to bring my phone upstairs after eating since whenever i had online classes, i’d be in class while eating breakfast. and then i’d have to go back downstairs to get it. plus i keep forgetting which cup i drank from (i have a lot of siblings and we have the same looking glasses) so i ask my siblings if they know which cup i used, but sometimes they don’t know either. it’s little things like these that get me so annoyed with myself, always forgetting things and losing stuff. my life feels so hectic as i relate to these symptoms in the video and i tried telling my mom i think i have adhd and wanna get diagnosed but she hasn’t said anything yet :[
This must be a thing right?? I keep forgetting to throw away trash or wash my piled up laundry just bcuz i didn't notice them even if they're all in my room. Those are just some examples...
Yes and its annoying as hell… they then proceed to ground me and when that doesnt solve it they make up some other excuse… bugs me but if i argue it makes it so much worse
And I actually think that devices help my adhd… when ever i have some impulse to say something i have to type it first, then before i send it i have a chance to read over it and see how dumb of a message it was lmao…
My parents : "You have to correct yourself" "Its because of that damn phone" "you have to listen us" "you should be perfect as a girl" "you are just acting"
I’ve looked through lots of ADHD videos and I relate to most of the symptoms or signs people list so I wanna tell my parents that I want to get a diagnosis. Unfortunately, I don’t want them to say ‘But you are normal’ or ‘you don’t have ADHD’ but it worth telling them so maybe behaviours will make sense. Edit: Sorry for making this comment come across as self-diagnosis. I would never and I don’t want to put myself and others in danger. I’m so very sorry!
@@LinoFloors thanks for telling me that! I’m hoping in the future to get diagnosed (I haven’t got an appointment I mean far future) I’m also finding ways to handle some things. Deadlines are still a problem though
it is indeed important to go to a psychiatric to check it out, anxiety and depression has some similar symptoms of adhd, those being lack of interest and attention, thats why you cant just diagnose yourself.

Time to go to a professional!
I told my mother I might have ADHD. Been telling her for a few years. Last week she said “you were tested as a baby, you don’t have it.” Like as if you can’t develop ADHD later in life? She just doesn’t want to admit that I actually have serious problems.
“You can prioritize your tasks, and accomplish them one by one.”

Yes, I made it then forgot about it until later when I'm looking for something else a few days later. Oof!! 😕

I know right: just make a list to get organized.
It really doesn’t work that way…
Same. I set alarms and then ignore all of them
It's not easy having ADHD, I wanna clean my room, but the stress of my room not bring clean makes me unmotivated so it's an endless cycle of not cleaning my room, the same goes with other things, but another big trait of ADHD is the willingness to help others we get enjoyment from helping others, I don't want to clean my room, but I'd clean a messier room just for the gratification of helping someone
This is... scarily accurate...💀

Its hard to self diagnose adhd correctly since its something that have a lot of symptoms that appear 'normal' or can appear from boredom, not caring and even sleep problems.
Then again adhd can cause all of those things.

YES very sure of Predroshrooms
Mushrooms are very medicinal. This is why anybody familiar with psilocybin and any other kind of fungi will tell you, "They are alive." They have a very ancient wisdom. To my experience, all mushrooms have always said, "Pay attention to your life. How you think, how you feel, and what will you do with the information that you always knew, but now are seeing in this point of view." This is why mushrooms are so respected in tribal cultures. This mental health treatment works for me too. Half micro doses do the trick for me. At least a few days at a time with lengthy time in between. Never addictive. Thank you for sharing this point!

to everyone saying self diagnosis is a horrible thing to do. take into consideration that diagnosis isnt a right but a privilege. not everyone is in the financial state where they are able to get a diagnosis or if theyre a minor the people around them may not allow them to get diagnosed. im not saying that you can go around diagnosing yourself with no reason but keep this in mind when you shame someone for not having a diagnosis.

This is me! At 38 years old…
LOL... FACTS!!
Yes! I relate to a lot said in the video but I'm not diagnosed, also my friend is diagnosed with ADHD and we are quite different in this game is the form if distractions or hyper focus.
@Merlinde Brink i don’t think it works like that… it’s normal for people to say stuff when doing the things related to the topic
Mine does disrupt my life but doctors don't care enough to actually diagnose me
@@SinfulRainbow I'm sorry to hear that, assuming you still want to try for a diagnosis then definitely try to see if you can get a second opinion if there is anyone else you can go to and if you have the money for it.
HAHA. Sounds a lot like me! Accept I still have NO idea if I have adhd cause my family thinks I’m perfect and that only my lil sister has
I’m so sorry that happened to you.
Idk who to go to. I just turned 20 but been showing signs since childhood. Most people only diagnose under 18
I have a love hate relationship with my hyperfocus.
Same! I also realised that sometimes you tend to "hyperfocus" on fears or worries. Also really hard to tear away from. It's really exhausting.

Yes, hyperfocus can be a double-edged sword! And we can't just easily switch it on and off.

Thank you for sharing your feelings :)
I think I have similar situations where I feel little to no motivation at all to do tasks (even eating healthily seems often difficult).
And sorry for my mistakes I haven't wrote in english in a long time lol

the third guy said dat, uhh , said dat he recomends another guy
and dat other guy said that we needed to meet 6 MORE TIMES
And why didnt my mom just go to the second meeting with the first doctor? in irl?
cuz she wants second opinions
and beetween these meetings, there are 1 or 2 months so
shes just like hey he thinks he has adhd cuz her sister has it

I understand you’re struggles. I was diagnosed with ADHD and other disorders in my second year of Elementary. The thing that helps me the most with focus is by playing with my rings during my sessions. I also enjoy doodling while listening to the lecture. Some days when I really can’t focus I like to give my brain a break and close my eyes. To help my memory improve I would say my locker combination out loud the right way then backwards.

4. Remember dragon language, become fascinated in it again
5. Back to RUclips spontaneously, watch a bunch of Shorts, then find this video
Edit: I will be on medication soon for potentially ADD.
God why do I relate to this so much...

Again, this video actually helped me learn about more of my symptoms so thank you for making this video!
oh i thought that was just called ADD
I was diagnosed at 11 years old

I have both.
I love these videos and I find them so useful, I'm working on a psychology project right now and am using your ADHD videos. But doing homework late at night is not good with how soothing your voice is lol I'm nodding off at my desk
My school district never cared like my mom put me in all these things to help, they never did it
Its horrible that your parent never helped you, but sitting on it wont either.
She understands the fact that I need meds and thankfully doesn’t ignore my health like her mother did to her. I hope you’re doing okay.
-a random child person
I can't really control myself and my mom keeps telling me "you're supposed to be smart, so why are you acting so pathetic and stupid?"
And I usually can't explain, how I do what I do.
You are more than your academic level, which is also probably really good. My parents would whip me harshly for getting bad grades but I couldn’t focus because of bullying, lack of sleep and being hungry. Those factors had a party with my ADHD almost everyday at school. The one thing that helped me focus better is, during my downtime, reading and practicing something I enjoyed, like drawing skills and conspiracies (haha!) Stuff that makes me apply myself, y’know? Sorry your mom treats you awfully like that

One thing I've learned having been diagnosed with both ADHD and Anxiety, is that the procrastination comes from the ADHD, and the worry about how I have no motivation to do things until last minute is the Anxiety. They work against each other in that way.
Oh my god you just described my work life😨should I start to worry!?😱

@@festerancaeredim thanks for the advice! Ill try and do what you said. :>

The problem is someone who doesn't have ADHD can look at these symptoms and come to the conclusion that they have it where they only show mild symptoms or "normal" behaviour. For example I see myself in a lot of these, especially disorganisation, impulsivity and unmotivated but I don't believe I have ADHD (although I've never been checked and because I did well in school and a have never been hyperactive I never will)
It's important to understand that showing signs is not the same as having a mental/behavioural disability (or however its classed) and you should never self diagnose anything
Acknowledging and being honest with health care professionals is a GOOD THING.
add exists, and you don't need to do poorly at school to have add/adhd
I have it and it made life a living hell in school
This story is kinda long so my bad 🤷♀️
As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD I was crying watching this video because I only saw the video as of how different I am from normal people. when I was a kid in elementary school I was never able to make friends as easily as other people because of my ADHD (ADHD can affect everyone differently this is just how it was for me).
I know how you feel, if you need someone to talk to i'm available! :)

My parents : "You have to correct yourself" "Its because of that damn phone" "you have to listen us" "you should be perfect as a girl" "you are just acting"

Just argued with mom an hour ago about this
1:09 inattentiveness
1:33 hyper-focus
2:36 impulsively
3:12 disorganization
3:37 mood swings
4:10 lack of motivation
@@LinoFloors my dad does the same to me
it is indeed important to go to a psychiatric to check it out, anxiety and depression has some similar symptoms of adhd, those being lack of interest and attention, thats why you cant just diagnose yourself.
my parents are the exact same they just say its made up
keep trying until they budge thats all i can recommend
