Lowly station, an accomplished Equestrian and an excess of swearing????? She sounds like a perfect hero for me!!!!
The best part is our hostess' charmingly teased hairstyle!
Alternative title: Buttons being the bane of Izabela's existence for 17 minutes straight.
Fabulous outfit and I liked the history in the narrative with this one
Lovely outfits and pictures as always❤
Love the outfit and enjoyed learning about Lady Lade.
I just love your videos
I love how the white waistcoat brings the outfit together. So satisfying to watch those buttons snugly fit into place and create a neat, supported chest and waist. Riding habits are always so flattering and smart in how they fit.
This attire is radiating plenty of emancipated vibes! It makes me wonder what direction female fashions would have taken if the neoclassical silhuette had not become a thing.
THAT is finally my FAVORITE mix of reality shapes for now but with the structure and detail ive been LOOKING for. so cool thank you❤
Love the details of the green with the blonde hair 💚 🐴
Everything I know suggests that women who could hunt, jump etc sidesaddle must have been better riders than their male counterparts.
Not necessarily- you could hunt sidesaddle and be rubbish- and do the same astride and also be rubbish. Different muscles used but the ability didn’t depend on the gender- but in the riders training, skill and experience
I agree for the same results riding sideways is mind boggling to me!
It seems to me that hunting, in particular, would be more difficult sidesaddle than astride, because a girl's back is to the entire right side of the horse, and shooting a gun could get a girl toppled off the horse entirely.
@@renaebettenhausen3611 1) On horseback hunting, weapons, especially firearms, were used very rarely. Shooting while sitting on a horse is extremely inconvenient, because you can’t really aim while moving, plus both hands were needed to use a weapon at that time, and on a horse at least one hand is occupied with reins. And not every horse, even if it is taught to do this, will calmly endure a shot over the ear.
2)Horseback hunting is usually done using dogs. The task of the riders in this case is to find and scare the animal, and then prevent it from leaving, forcing it to run towards the dogs that will catch it and kill it.
Also, instead of dogs, they could hunt with birds of prey.
3) You are wrong about turning the back. When riding in a side saddle, both the back, and the shoulders, and the hips should be turned perfectly even, and only the legs hang down to one side. If the shoulders or hips are turned to the side, this is a gross mistake and needs to be retrained to ride correctly.
@@renaebettenhausen3611 By the way, given the design of the side saddle, it is much more difficult to fall out of it than from an ordinary one.
Absolutely lovely video, Izabella, you look incredibly elegant both on the horse and off it.
You too make a very handsome pair! Your horses should be pleased to accompany you!
Beautiful - both lady and horses. 😊 As always, you amaze me with your buttons. I'm afraid I would have to have someone dress me. 😉
Absolutely stunning ❤
I love the stays! No matter what i do mine never lift my melons the right way 😂 i think mine are too small for the 18th century. I wish i had your talent!
Ngl I can use mine almost for a makeshift binder 😂
@@wednes3day 🤣 same mine just flattens me and it sucks bc I LOOOVE that book look
@@talosheeg what helps a tiny bit for that with me is lying down flat on my back to readjust, usually they sit better after that .. or just generally making absolutely sure that the stays are lifting as much as feasible rather than compressing (as in trying to get the stays to be underneath rather than outside as much as possible?) Idk if that makes sense
"Not so much a lady" Laeticia Lade does sound interesting. Thank you for the details of the outfit and the history of someone who would've worn something like it.
I'm sorry, you talked about paniers and then horses and my brain conjured a picture of a lady in court paniers on a nervous grey horse and I nearly choked on my tea. HA HA HA HA.
It's very interesting because if you look at equestrian wear today it's still very masculine in style just we've just added feminine tailoring to jackets and breeches.
⚠ Fascinating set up & captivating features: a charming voyage back to that era!
you always look amazing!
The whole video is just so beautiful, love the lighting from the window. The blue is beautiful, but I really love the style of the green one. 🥰
Beautiful! Loved the green. And loved seeing a drop noseband that's not both tying the horse's mouth shut or cutting their air pipes in half.
Thanks for another lovely video. It's so nice to see the clothes moving in various reveal life activities after the dressing up section-I really appreciate you adding that in your videos
Very Smart Looking 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🌹🌹🌹
I absolutely adore the elegant cropped look of the jacket, with the double breast and little tails. Simple but stylish
Great hat!
Lovely habit. Leticia's story is quite interesting. The information on her is a bit disappointing, I would have liked to know more, one said she was around six foot tall. That was in itself extraordinary, she must have been quite a personality. 😉I hope you are having a wonderful summer! It's always a pleasure to see you and husband, too.
so pretty and a very interesting video as always ❤🏴
Lovely
Another great video by Ms. Atire. I think I spelled that wrong!
Attire from the looks of it
Her name is Izabela Pitcher.
@@Olga_Ovechkina think the idea was to reference Priorattire as a name, like turning it into a name
Honestly I don't understand why people want to step into their skirts anyway. It's hard from a mobility perspective, gets the skirt dragging on the floor, needs to make it past the hips and pushes anything else you're wearing upwards. The only real application I can see is for a "lay your crinoline down and pre-arrange your skirts on top of it before pulling up the entire lot" trick.
Also putting on over can ruffle hairstyles, be a pain for any makeup, jewelry, etc., is generally a bit disorienting .. and idk how much easier getting shoulders through is compared to hips?
Not saying that there's a right way to do it, just noting the potential annoyances with going over. I do either depending 😊
This is probably something that each lady would need to look at her own body for. Which is harder to get over, your *hairband busy, or your hips?
*Edit: hair and bust
And even that arranging doesn't necessarily work - she did that on one video, I think it was the Christmassy dress!
@@MiljaHahto i think so! it got kinda suctioned to the floor
Yea I’ve always stepped into skirts because that’s what you have to do when you’re pear shaped. Most zippers don’t open enough to get the skirt past your hips.
I once heard that ladies would often pretend to fall off their horse (on a soft patch of grass etc.) so they could give the gent coming to the rescue a cheeky skirts up, underwear peek without losing her dignity. It was an "accident" after all. 🤭
Bullshit invented by novel writers . Falls were dangerous- you risked injury or death.
If you wanted someone to assist you up, you simply got off normally on an excuse.. no need to fall
Oh, you went into a trot there! Have you ever ridden side-saddle at full gallop?
Of course. I also prefer to jump sidesaddle
@@priorattire I'm curious- why do you prefer to jump sidesaddle?
Commenting to be notified if there is a reply
@@j.wa.1061 I'm not Izabela, but I can answer: it's safer. Falling out of a sidesaddle is more difficult than falling out of an ordinary one.
@@Olga_Ovechkina huh, shows I don't know anything about riding- I'd always heard the opposite, that sidesaddle was much less stable than astride.
I always love your videos. Would this be a similar style to Anne Listers period?
Anne Lister 1791-1840. Her type of dress is more 1820-1840, so a bit later.
The name of the lady in the portrait is pronounces `Letisha`, I listened three times and could not work out what sort of a hash was made but it wasn`t that
Beautiful! Do You make Your own wigs?
No
@@priorattire Ok, but thank You anyway!
I have always wondered why men’s clothes were buttoned left side on right, while women’s are right on left. I noticed that here, your waistcoat and jacket are buttoned left on right like men’s wear. Any idea when it changed, and why?
Hasn’t changed a it is a masculine item so masculine closure!
@priorattire No, I meant women's wear has changed between the 18th century and nowadays: all women's clothes, jackets and coats including, button right on left now. When and why did it change, do you know?
@@myriamickx7969not sure if it is right, but some time ago I heard it was like this, because women more often were dressed by a maid or relative, while men more often dressed alone. For a (right handed) maid it was easier to grab the button with her right hand on the left side, when she was standing in front of the person.
@kila8046
Thanks. Never heard that but it makes sense.
Riding sidesattle. Ladies don't spread their legs for just anything now do we! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤔🤣🤣🤣🤣
Ironic that they were so convinced that exercise was not for women that women's sportwear was usually masculine looking. lol
Completely wrong deduction. Exercise was encouraged- and clothes looked masculine due to practicality of the garments. Low cut bodices of silk and cotton dresses, panniers, bum rumps etc were just not suitable- so women went for a bastardised version of men’s coats.
@@priorattire Ugh. I've become the idiot that makes assumptions. Sorry. :/
To me that looks uncomfortable
It isn’t
To me it does not so much look uncomfortable as it looks boxy and overly structured in the bodice. The pigeon breast was not a good look to me. 😂
Styles of the past were stunning, what a difference to today's rubbish cheap chinese made garbage
That's a personal choice. If you choose to follow all the latest trends, you probably can't afford quality pieces that you only wear for a season.
If you seek out quality classic pieces eventually you will build a base wardrobe of good clothing that you can update with accessories and tops.
A very good tip to avoid clothing looking cheap is to stick to natural fibers.
Cheap? Rubbish? Made in China? We are talking about equestrian wear right? If so, you're in the wrong video. I have no equestrian wear made in China, that's cheap or rubbish. >.
