Doesnt matter on o.d. of can. Her app gives you center point for a symetrical layout. 3-0 box, 4-0 box, 4 inch or 6 inch cans. They all will be centered.
Don't waste your money on this piece of crap. This is hands down the worst purchase I have ever made. I quite literally threw mine out. Got the Bosch unit. Should've done that in the first place.

Bosch makes one that is insane. It shows what the laser is pointing at and it’s accurate for like 300 feet
