bro we thought this was the absolute pinnacle of greatness in 8th grade concert band. it slapped hard and was super fun to play. by far the most dynamic piece I played before high school
Me and my best friend did this song a year before he completed suicide. Before that he transferred to a different school and asked the band director to play this song so they played this song for his memorial 🧡🧡
I went to the honor band at UMD that this was composed for and played clarinet in the group that got to perform it. Haven't heard it since my spring band concert last year, but I'm still in love with how it sounds.
When the bass drum hits at 1:09, it’s supposed to sound like that. I’m 99% sure with how hard our band’s percussion hits the drum it’ll break before we preform. I’m one of the closest instruments, and it sounds like a bomb.
I was supposed to play this in an Honor Band but the concert got canceled so I begged my director if we could do it and we are I'm so happy. #percussiongang
Dose anyone think that a 7th grade band is capable of playing this song? I happen to love this piece and I am thinking about showing it to my band director
+Oscat Hinojosa the clarinet has a alternate key that makes it seem as if they are blowing really hard, but they aren't. they are pressing the key. it actually depends on the level of your band. the play level. like 1,1&1/2,2,2&1/2. it goes up as well. so if your band is capable, then yeah
I played this song in the Dorian Middle School Band Camp at Luther College in Decorah Iowa. We had a week to practice this song along with five other. It was really fun. If you live anywhere near Decorah Iowa you should go to the band camp and honor band.
my middle school all county played this last year and it was amazing. I'm talking with my highschool bd about composing a marching band version and it's coming together great!!!
In my school, we had 2 band classes. Beginning and Advanced. And when the advanced players, played this song. I was so into it! So I would say it was the best performance ever. I'm in advanced band now and I think that this would be complicated for me ^^"
@04RyGuy04 I also play the FH and I just got this music yesterday. I love it! It doesn't feel too challenging, I just have a little but of a hard time with the cascading notes in the beginning bc the trumpets are all right behind me
played this in my middle school wind ensemble as a 6th grader in 2023, as one of our pieces for the MICCA festival, wasn’t too hard but was probably one of the most entertaining pieces i’ve heard in concert band.
What’s everyone favorite part? Mine had to be at measure 73 or 1:55 in the video because I play French horn and I just find it so catchy and it is a lot of fun to play!
This song was made for my home town school personally Pine City Minnesota if anyone was wondering but you probably won't believe me so I don't know why I am even telling just thought it would be cool to tell
I am a 6th grader in concert band and my band director invited me to go to six flags with the intermediate band and play infront of judges and I'm really nervous this song is kinda hard
Shining Armor Tympani solos are rare; I’m glad I got several for this song, freshman year. Unrelated to this, how well would “Due North” fit with the duel between Finn, Rey, and Kylo Ren in _Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens?_
You do not understand how many times my band had to go through the stupid triangle ding because the girl keeps missing it!!
Pencil Pastel Dash I do, the same happened for me 😒
Same I don’t understand what’s so hard about dinging a triangle
Lol I played triangle cymbals
I would've accidently dropped the triangle at the right time 😂
😭😂

+Lily B. I played it last year in seventh grade and we were fine. It's actually pretty easy! I would try it out if I were you. It's a lot of fun!
+Lily B. In seventh grade we played it, it was so fun! My whole band had fun!
It would depend on if your band would practice it. I don't play the clarinet but in my opinion it goes a little high.

In my school, we had 2 band classes. Beginning and Advanced. And when the advanced players, played this song. I was so into it! So I would say it was the best performance ever. I'm in advanced band now and I think that this would be complicated for me ^^"

Actually same. Baritone ftw

Two things:
- This probably is your usual middle school/high school concert theme for the Winter/Spring.
- -I'm struggling with the vibraphone part.-
learning how to play this in band-french horns have a beautiful part!
Yay finally another French horn player lol. Idk why but I love playing the part around 73 I just find it so catchy I think
@04RyGuy04 I also play the FH and I just got this music yesterday. I love it! It doesn't feel too challenging, I just have a little but of a hard time with the cascading notes in the beginning bc the trumpets are all right behind me
IKR that’s why I play French horn
We really do it's tricky but it's getting better. 💙
