Depicting an ancient tale of battle between water serpents and giant thunderbirds, Michael's dramatic work for young players provides plenty of imagery amid the dark sonorities and driving percussion contrasted with delicate melodies and rich harmonic textures. This multi-style composition provides an engaging and rewarding work for concert or festival.

When the flutes and trumpets play together is sounds so amazing
When the clairnetes and flutes and trumpets join together😍😍😍
Haley Willard Yassss
We’re doing this for band and don’t have enough percussionists and so they have to run back and forth between instruments. It’s so fun to watch 😂
Best bet would be to have instruments bunched up so you dont have to run to play em
or the instruments your playing in a area for you
My band is playing this song and its possibly one of my favorites we've played so far 😂😋
My band is playing it too
La mia también

I’m a sophomore in high school now. After high school I’m going to college for music education. I plan on teaching my kids this song. I’m a big fan of this piece. Although our band hasn’t played it yet, my band sure will.

I remember when I was in hs a d our director thought us to play this for a spring concert. (I was tenor sax btw) but this whole piece gave me goosebumps and now listening to it it’s just nostalgia for me. I miss it so much❤️
My band played this for adjudication and then we went to Six Flags. I was one of the only boys on first clarinet and we all did pretty well.

So, low brass here, we get no credit 😂 and today when we played this our choir teacher came in at the end and said the low brass was awesome at the end. Really random but it seemed funny
I love this horn part
I’m currently learning this and I always mess up someplace around 56
PERCUSSION 2 (minus Medium Tom)!
The ending is so godamn good
좋다.
I wish I had gotten the chance to play this at least some point in my musical career!! It sounds amazing, I found it through SmartMusic and I learned my part (flute). I absolutely love it, it’s a fun little thing I play when I’m bored. Too bad it’s below my band’s ability level, we won’t play something like this (I’m a junior and apart of our schools audition-only wind ensemble composed of the best musicians on campus Oof)
I play this song in middle school advanced band clarinet
Soooooo good
We're playing this song for Bethel Band Festival as a feature, and I play flute. when the trumpets and flutes play together its 👌
타악기 부분 정말 멋있다.
Did low Toms for this piece. Definitely hard to get used to but I enjoyed it so much
this is so simple for bass guitar
It's the so nice song!!😍
I want to perform it in a wind bands concours in Japan,But My friends don't want to perform it.
I'm so sad……😢

Omg hi Tyler! It's Isley from school
There needs to be a bagpipes part!
Playing snare.
Eulo So our band only has 3 percussionists, me and two others. I was given Gong, Suspended, Crash, Triangle, and Windchimes (Mark Tree). I play the MAJORITY of percussion for this song. Don't get me wrong, I love this song but I just wish we had more percussionists because I feel more pressured than usual. I wouldn't be such a big deal BUT our final concert is on the 31st. Sorry that I ended up rambling about something that you might not even care about.
I was supposed to play this for our end of the year performance, but it got cancelled 😞
I feel you, my concert got canceled as well!
I play this song
I play trombone pretty much the entire song is just holding a note until the end lol

Base drum all the way. If you played band and had a base drum you would here the difference cuz in this you can only here the base drum in the solo and if you played this in band you would hear the base drum
