we are playing this for hour winter concert this year. im playing clarinet and this sounds amazing holy moly. my director says this is one of her favorate pieces.
the vibes and marimbas make the background feel so fricking magical. I play marimba btw and love playing this piece sm we are going to play it on concert on the 30th of October!!! CANT WAITTTTT
I’m a sophomore in high school now. After high school I’m going to college for music education. I plan on teaching my kids this song. I’m a big fan of this piece. Although our band hasn’t played it yet, my band sure will.
I remember when I was in hs a d our director thought us to play this for a spring concert. (I was tenor sax btw) but this whole piece gave me goosebumps and now listening to it it’s just nostalgia for me. I miss it so much❤️
The place that this is based off is called, funnily, Devils Lake in Wisconsin. I’ve been there and it is gorgeous! If you ever visit wis this is definitely a place to see.
I wish I had gotten the chance to play this at least some point in my musical career!! It sounds amazing, I found it through SmartMusic and I learned my part (flute). I absolutely love it, it’s a fun little thing I play when I’m bored. Too bad it’s below my band’s ability level, we won’t play something like this (I’m a junior and apart of our schools audition-only wind ensemble composed of the best musicians on campus Oof)
So, low brass here, we get no credit 😂 and today when we played this our choir teacher came in at the end and said the low brass was awesome at the end. Really random but it seemed funny
Eulo So our band only has 3 percussionists, me and two others. I was given Gong, Suspended, Crash, Triangle, and Windchimes (Mark Tree). I play the MAJORITY of percussion for this song. Don't get me wrong, I love this song but I just wish we had more percussionists because I feel more pressured than usual. I wouldn't be such a big deal BUT our final concert is on the 31st. Sorry that I ended up rambling about something that you might not even care about.
Base drum all the way. If you played band and had a base drum you would here the difference cuz in this you can only here the base drum in the solo and if you played this in band you would hear the base drum
When the flutes and trumpets play together is sounds so amazing
it doessss
we are playing this for hour winter concert this year. im playing clarinet and this sounds amazing holy moly. my director says this is one of her favorate pieces.

I’m a sophomore in high school now. After high school I’m going to college for music education. I plan on teaching my kids this song. I’m a big fan of this piece. Although our band hasn’t played it yet, my band sure will.
How’s college going?
We’re doing this for band and don’t have enough percussionists and so they have to run back and forth between instruments. It’s so fun to watch 😂
Best bet would be to have instruments bunched up so you dont have to run to play em
or the instruments your playing in a area for you
our percussionists use different drums than the ones in here so it sounds so different
My favorite percussion piece i ever got to play to date
Playing mallet percussion and floor toms. Such a beautiful piece!
I remember when I was in hs a d our director thought us to play this for a spring concert. (I was tenor sax btw) but this whole piece gave me goosebumps and now listening to it it’s just nostalgia for me. I miss it so much❤️

I play this song in middle school advanced band clarinet
I’m currently learning this and I always mess up someplace around 56
I love this horn part
I wish I had gotten the chance to play this at least some point in my musical career!! It sounds amazing, I found it through SmartMusic and I learned my part (flute).
