I remember, I watched the _Halloween_ movie marathon on AMC years ago as a young kid, and when I heard those cartoon sounds with the two cops, of course as a kid I didn't think much about it outwardly, but there was a very small gut feeling inside me that was thinking "Oh no, something's wrong here."
Watched the marathon on AMC a couple of weeks ago. It's a tradition now.
Literally
much respect to Donald pleasance
Absolutely.
Nobody couldn't be the best Dr Loomis than Donald pleasance
Yup. I enjoyed 5 on the strength of Pleasance's Loomis alone. I really enjoyed the climactic battle between he and Myers. He really brought a lot of desperation to it...and a sense that, here was a great man on his last leg, making one final charge at accomplishing a mission that he'd staked everything on.
@@kforcer Well said. I've been saying that for years. I found something positively EPIC in that final moment between Loomis and Myers...Even the specific blows he delivered....they're carefully choreographed...the first 5 are PHENOMENAL...With the initial swing of the board, he almost launches himself along with the plank, he's so desperate to stop the villain. The most powerful of the group-the 5th-you don't even see it land, but FEEL the impact, from the sound, and the wince on little Jamie's face..then a flurry...then one final, mighty blow...and it's like seeing Samson...a great hero getting to be strong for one, final time...I've always counted Halloween 5 as one of Pleasance's greatest performances. I'd rank Halloween 2 first, but I'd probably have this one second. With this performance, he even surpassed Cushing's Van Helsing as the greatest hero of the horror realm..
When I was a young girl (obsessed with horror) I was actually terrified by 4 & 5 because she IS a little girl & there is something unnerving hearing another child screaming in terror & being chased by an emotionless grown man. It defiantly hit home with my fears but its a total cheese ball as an adult now. Just a perspective lads!
Sailor mars, Yes even I when I was growing up and watched parts 1-6 I used to be so terrified especially of Parts 4 and Part 5 at the time because as little kid you can easily relate to a little girl being chased by an emotionless killer and the fact that the killer is an immortal unstoppable evil force to be wreckoned with is what made it even more terrifying, that's probably why I don't find myself hating 5 that much, but I will agree is not that good of a movie, but it does have one thing that always scared me the most growing up and that is the Michael Myers mask in Halloween 5 his mask is so creepy with the hair brushed to the back which I know many people say it is one of the worst looking masks ever but to me it makes sense because I always used to think wouldn't a mask look like that if it got wet in a river, so yes that's why to me the mask isn't a problem and is probably the only thing this Halloween 5 movie does best other than that the storyline is not so good and the characters like mainly Tina was so unlikable I couldn't wait for Michael Myers to kill her so bad in which he did when Tina sacrficed her own life for Jamie Lloyd that's probably the only part besides the Michael Myers mask I love in Halloween 5 I couldn't stand Tina, I wished they have kept Rachel Curruthers (Ellie Cornell) who was a very likable character live longer and going out after a great battle with Michael Myers would've been great and awesome, but no instead the director/writer Dominique Othenin Girard wanted Rachel to be killed off quickly only to prove the audience that anybody could get killed quickly even if they survive throughout the previous film, so yes that's why Halloween 5 wasn't such a great film despite Michael Myers chasing Jamie which was relatable at the time and Michael Myers mask being more creepier than in Halloween 4. And yes Halloween 4 and Halloween 6 Producer's Cut were great. Yes Halloween 5 wasn't that much but thankfully atleast Part 6 Producer's Cut stepped it up, yes only for that to be ignored and to go downhill, for then for Resurrection to make it go even more downhill by making Michael Myers get smacked like a bitch around by Busta Rhymes, and then after that for Rob Zombie to mske it much more worse by turning Michael Myers into a dumb hobo and into a mommas boy, making him talk at the end of the Director's Cut movie and also making him die all of a sudden by gunshots when yet gunshots when yet he has been shot plenty of times in Rob Zombies Halloween 2007 movie which does not make sense that in Rob Zombies Halloween 2 2009 how he dies from gunshots from the cops at the end, and now we got this new film which also pushes Michael Myers far from his charavter not only by being turned into an old mortal psycho killer but also turned into a passive dumb killer that does not have a clear active goal to finish off Laurie Strode. And speaking of Parts 4, Parts 4 was great the storline and everything was executed perfectly from start to finshed (with the exception of the mask) but everything else again was great and Part 6 Producer's Cut was great because it also executes everything perfectly (except Michael Myers raping and impregnating Jamie) but everything was great yes despite Michael Myers was frozen by black magic Runes stones the Part 7 that was planned for it was going to justify and explain why that happened which it does a perfect job explaining it which is why I love Part 6 Producer's Cut because it truly is an improvement from Part 5 because again the sequel that was planned for Part 6 Producer's Cut was going to explain everything and justify everything that happened in Part 6.
halloweendailynews.com/2014/10/interview-halloween-6-daniel-farrands/
This is the link of the planned seq3 they had for Part 6 Producer's Cut, I would say to scroll down in the part where it asks "Where would it have gone in Part 7?" from what I read there it tells that Part 7 was going to be Michael Myers vs Tommy Doyle storyline and was going to show almost the whole town of Haddonfield was involved in Michael Myers evil this whole time and how was Tommy Doyle going to get out of it himself now having almost the whole town of Haddonfield against him because they think he was the killer causing damage to the Town of Haddonfield all this time. While Michael Myers stops wearing Dr. Wynns clothes, gets back in his Jump Suit and gets his white mask again and resumes back to his killing spree and Tommy Doyle also has to try and stop him with most of the odds stacked up against him with almost the whole town also going against him making his job more difficult to stop Michael Myers and his evil ways. So yes if you read it, you can see it goes into more details than from how I'm explaining of what is it all about, so yes again this sequel is the reason why I praise the Producer's Cut film as much as I do with the first original 1978 classic Halloween movie. I used to not like Part 6 of any cut, until I read this sequel of where it was headed in Daniel Farrands Halloween 7. This storyline would've been way better than anything we got after Part 6 including this new 2018 movie which grew on me less amd less each day after analysiing where it all went wrong.
Danielle Harris and Donald Pleasence are the only reasons to watch Halloween 4 & 5. Both films have nice "moments", but on a whole they are both pretty shitty films. Gonna throw my unpopular opinion out there and say that I prefer part 5's portrayal of Michael. He was actually sort of intimidating, and the laundry shoot sequence was fantastic. Also really liked the very end of part 5, where Jamie sees that Michael has escaped and cried "NOOO!". Haunting. Too bad just about everything else sucked goat nuts.
Don Shanks (who played Michael in H5) was actually injured during the scene where Loomis traps Myers in a chain net, shoots him with some tranquilizers, and beats him with a 2x4. That board actually hurt Shanks. It's mentioned in the 25 Years of Terror documentary.
PowerRangersFan yeah, Shanks got a broken nose out of the deal.
1989 was a bad year for slasher movies.
ANOES 5: The Dream Child was a disastrous rush job which signaled the beginning of the end of Freddy Kruger.
Friday The 13th VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan proved that jason vorhees had run out of steam by sinking like a stone at the box office.
Halloween 5 barely managed to get a theatrical release and failed miserably.
@greg garner Fuck outta here lol
Child’s play saved it
G -Watch Child’s Play was in theatres in 1988, not 1989.
@Hammerhead547 My fav of the three is Jason Takes Manhattan. That was the most enjoyable of the three.
@@perrymehta6438
I liked dream child for its inventiveness with some of the kills along with some of the comic relief that brings just enough levity to the story and I very much enjoyed F13: VIII because it was very clearly meant to be the last try with the franchise so they went all out with it by changing the setting and having the heroine have an actual backstory with jason herself like they did in pt: 3.
It took me four tries to watch H5 because it was just so badly thought out that I would get frustrated with all the plot holes, I can only imagine someone sitting in a theater screening room being so confused by what's going on that they just give up and walk out.
Best thing about Halloween 6 theatrical is they got Michael's mask right.
I did like H20 (personally see that as part 3) but Resurrection, oh dear.
II DIRECTx II Resurrection can be broken down into two parts; the part that feels like a Halloween film, and the rest of the movie.
I feel the opposite. H2O tries to have all the right elements in place, but is dull with unlikable characters, and Michael is barely in it. Resurrection is cheesy and dumb, but it's also fun.
@@ThreadBomb I don't Halloween resurrection is dumb I like it .
Wayminute. They arrest Mikey with his mask on? Did he take his mugshot with his mask on too?😲
lol
I feel ur pain Gary. I'm a former balding man myself, but I went with the shaved head and never looked back. It's gotta be hard with that head banging door next to you but Phil from pantera made it ok. Let it go Gary. Love you guys. You deserve more subscriptions than you have. Ur much better than some of the stale reviewers out there now.
Nah, he looks cool. Shouldn't shave it.
I really thought they were bad after 4. I have even grown to appreciate 3 now that I am older and viewing it as a stand alone. I am still extremely mad they killed Rachel off they way they did. Maybe it is just me but it seemed like at that point the whole series sank. For her to be so strong in the previous movie just to die in the first few minutes of the next movie was really similar to Alice in the Friday the 13th movies
Many reviewers say things like: you know you shouldn't have sex in a horror movie and if you do, you'll die. But the point is that the actors are playing a character and that character doesn't know he's in a Horror movie. The character doesn't know that there is a serial killer in the area and just wants to have a good time like you do in real life.
Anyway, keep up the good work with your channel. I always enjoy your reviews and look forward to when another episode of Off the Shelf Reviews is announced.
I really enjoyed your review of the 1 and 2. But I have to give to you guys respect for sitting though all of these others and having to pay attention to them to give a run down here. I can't bring myself to finish any of them after 3. I kinda wish Carpenter had his wish that the Halloween franchise would have been just a horror/thriller series not a Michael Myers series. Like the way Rod Sterling did with Twilight Zone. 4-6 was all pure schlock. MM is such a completely dead antagonist, there is just nothing left. I feel they just offend the original. Just regurgitation, to con people out of money.
In Halloween 5, it isn't even the original Myers house!!
Chris Thornton It was filmed in Utah. Watch the 25 Years of Terror documentary.
@Chris Terry Watch the 25 Years of Terror documentary.
The character of Tina, if anything ever makes you push stop on a DVD remote. Tina is crazier than Myers and Loomis.
eric brown i had a crush on Tina, that maybe why i like part 5...lol
i love H5 it brought the series out of a generic comfort zone that part 4 had put it into. It took risks, not all the choices in 5 were great but it had some shocks and it was very entertaining. Had production not been so rushed by Akkad they could have had more time to polish the script. Production began before the script was done. And H6 (producer's cut) was great in my opinion, only wish they had agreed to cast Harris instead as Jamie and maybe made her a highschool student by then with reoccuring visions of Michael's return instead of the whole pregnancy hospital thing it ended up doing..
Y'all should review Zombie's Halloween I would love y'alls thoughts
Don't waste your time
Those gun shots fucked him up at the end you have to admit so that's why it took him a whole year to recover.
The original Halloween movies ended with part 2, end of story.
Part 4's a decent extension, if only for that ending, Danielle Harris and some development for Donald Pleasance's character.
Well they had 8 after that so that's not true
Absolutely. Halloween 1 2,&2018 ....the rest are garbage imo
The series is 1, 2, 4, and 5. THAT is the franchise.
@@DarthRushy 4 is quite good, but 5 is substantially superior.

Why does the Myers house change completely In this second trilogy
I find completely ridiculous that, in Halloween 5 they say Jamie just "attacked" her step mother. So... she's not dead? Because at the end of H4 Jamie was standing on top of those stairs, obviously covered in her step mother's blood.
I love your reviews guys but Ian I have to point out to you the reality of how Danielle Harris was treated over the role of Jamie in Halloween 6. Yes she turned down the pay rate HOWEVER she had been a minor when they would have been filming so they weren't going to give her the part. She rallied for the part and went through the long and expensive process to become emancipated (this would enable her to work the same hours as an adult would) so she could continue to play Jamie then AFTER the money she spent to become emancipated she found out that they wouldn't even pay her the amount SHE paid for the emancipation. So yes she turned down the part over money...but not really.
Thanks Meri. I realise they dropped the ball with Jaimes character. Saying that, Micheal should have stopped at Halloween 2 like Carpenter wanted and all the kerfuffle could have been avoided :) - Iain
I totally agree! The fact that they offered LESS then she shelled out to become a legal adult so she could work adult hours was B.S.! If that's what the pay was going to be they should have told her BEFORE she went to that cost...that being said they should have stopped the series after 2
Don't get me wrong I wasn't trying to say the later Halloween movies were great. I just wanted to stand up for Daniel Harris a bit because a lot of people seem to get angry over her refusing her part in Halloween 6 do to the wage offered. I think more people need to remember she spent MORE then they offered to pay her and she felt insulted and mislead over the whole situation. I just think it's unfair that she gets spoken badly of when she tried really hard to keep her part that's all.
Can't wait for you guys to review the new Halloween movie.
I actually consider Halloween 6: The Producer's Cut quite good. In fact I think, as Halloween films go, it is third behind the first two films. For some reason people who are still somehow working in Hollywood, like Joe Chappelle, didn't understand the first thing about dramatic value; he saw Pleasence's footage and wasn't impressed. Pleasence's performance was the best thing the film had. I hated Halloween: The Curse Of Michael Myers but I occasionally watch the Producer's Cut which I think is an honourable last film of Donald Pleasence. I implore everybody to watch the Producer's Cut if you haven't seen it. Like I say, it is better than every film bar 1 and 2.
I’ll miss you Donald Pleasence
The original Halloween was a suspenseful horror thriller because there was no reason to Michaels actions. Part of the horror element was that a Michael could pop up in your town and end your life without justification, hence, The Boogeyman!! I do love part 2 but I wish they'd never made any sequels. John Carpenter is on record stating that making Laurie Strode Michael's sister was a drunken mistake that bogged the series potential story-lines and diminished the mystery of The Boogeyman.. John Carpenter is on board for a reboot supposedly coming out 2017 as a producer and I hear composing the music. Let's hope he has something to do with the writing. Not sure if it's a remake or a continuation. Surely they won't stuff this up... Surely?? Great review guys!!!
Michael knows where Tina lives to take her to get cigarrettes lol
Just to stick in my two-penn'orth; I'd have to say the best character in H5 would have to have been Max. Finest, most believable performance in the entire film.
🤣🤣🤣🤣😅 I agree.👍
Halloween 5 is a Stinking Dung-Pile!!! Why didn't they just set H5 7 years later and Jamie is now 17 or 18 and she is being taken care of in a maximum security Mental Hospital, and ever since she killed her step Mother she hasn't spoke a word, she is just a catatonic, then one night she escapes and tries to find her Step Sister Rachael......to hunt her down and kill her.
SKINWEARING MANIAC That was the original idea but Mustapha Akkad didn't want Jamie to be the new Shape and just resurrected Michael again. Donald Pleasance fought with Akkad because Donald wanted Jamie to be evil.
It's Mrs."Meyer", from Better Off Dead!
32:00 when you put it like this then all of the movies make sense in a way 🤯🤯

You know, I liked Halloween 6, it explained what was going on in the rest of the series and gave a definitive end to it all, Loomis finally kills Michael and frees him from the curse of thorn. They really should have ended things there,
They filmed that scene where michael Kills the police instead of them leaving but it was too gory to keep... True fact
DH also wanted to come back.....but she hated the way she died in the film. she tried to talk to the asshole director and MA about different ways they could include her but turned her down. so she said if she was going to do it she wanted to get paid for it....but she was offered almost the very same amount she received for H4 8 years earlier, so she bowed out.

Loomis is cursed to be Michael's keeper and Michael switches clothes because they rewrote the climax at the last minute. That's it.
The characters in H5 act an awful lot like npc's in the new hitman games where you can leave someone lying dead on the floor with a fire ax buried in the back of their head and after a brief moment of "panic" on the guards part while they initially freak the fuck out then after a few seconds someone else walks in the room and very casually says "nothing's happening here" as he stands over the corpse of his now deceased coworker before bagging the body and dragging it off to the pile.
I like the idea of the curse, but the execution is garbage. I never bought into the argument that Michel was a normal bloke that just happened to survive losing his eyes and having 70 percent of his body incinerated at the end of Halloween 2. By force there was something in him that kept him at it all those years.
If it was a different director, it would not have been this bad. The script was decent by itself.
Basilisk Space Marine The Producers cut is the best and does it well
The youtuber Drumdums has edited together a cut of H6 using the theatrical and producer's cuts that really makes H6 a pretty decent entry. It's the only version of H6 I watch
25:11 beth actress mariah Obrien is on the cover of Alice in chains dirt album cover
Halloween 5 is great but part 6 is even better and I mean the real part 6 the producers cut which is the best in the series and finally answered SO many questions the fans had for so long! They should have done the planned sequel to part 6! But yes parts 1,2, 4-6 are the original series then they did the dumb reboot with h20!
Making Jamie the killer would have ended the series for sure. Fans were pissed that Myers was not in part 3 so if he was not the killer anymore and Jamie was oh wow fans would have gone mad!
Loomis is great in 5 I mean in real life he would act like this with all he has been through
The Coven put the curse on Myers when he was 6 years with the babysitter across the street just like she lives across the street from his house in part 6. And the baby was needed as the final sacrifice as innocent blood to end his bloodline
What the hell Paul Rudd was in a Halloween movie?? How did I never know this haha
Myers wearing barbaric music in car waiting on Tina to get cigs from
The cookie woman is a really
Tense scene. IMO IDK
Is there any plan to review Halloween 6 the directors cut?
i just finished watching for the first time The Producer's Cut and like the theatrical version sadly i liked them both, maybe because i dispise 3,4 and 5, the 6th one was the first Halloween film i saw so maybe nostalgia is involve but H20 is better
I liked the man in black,I wish they'd have done more with the character. If it was me I'd kept him mysterious until part 7.And it wouldn't have been Wynn.
15:27 Did you call a pitchfork ...a garden fork?
All I can think about as I watch this is wait till they see the cowboy boots guy at the end !!!!!
Being a fan of parts 3, 4, and 5 i tried to give this one a shot, i have never been able to finish it.
Ian’s hair looks cool . I’m growing it out like that
I may be in the minority on this, but I actually do like Halloween 3, 4, and 5. Don't get me wrong, 1 and 2 are definitely the best, but I think 3 is pretty dang good in fact, and 4 and 5, while becoming more repetitive, are actually still enjoyable, to me. I like all Halloween 1-5. For me, where things really start to go off the rails is with 6, particularly with the confusing, messed up ending(S). Then H20...this is probably an unpopular opinion also, but I don't really care for H20. I know it's most commonly cited as the third most popular, behind 1 and 2, and while I don't think it's bad, per se, but as Iain said, it's just "tiresome" by that point. Then Resurrection is utter shit. You know, when I think about it, I think I actually like the Halloween movies from favorite to least favorite in the exact order they were made: 1) I 2) II 3) Witch 4) Return 5) Revenge 6) Curse 7) H20 8) Resurrection. Like it constnatly got progressively worse.
On second thought, I do think I like H20 better than 6. But that's all I would change.
From what I understand, H5 was being written and rewritten during filming. The director was the one who added all that crap into the film. Pleasance said he wanted to make a bloodier Halloween on its own instead of the 5th film in a series.
JohnBlack2345 Pleasance wanted Jamie to be the new killer for 5.
Anybody know why it took 6 years later for the 6th one i remember as a young teenager in october of 1990 waiting for a halloween 6 ad and nothing by the time it came out i was like heh.
because 5 stunk so bad
Legal issues.
The only positive and six is that Loomis doesn’t act anywhere near as crazy and at least I can look at Michael without laughing at him because of the mask or the shoulder pads
I was such a big fan when Halloween 6 came out ( when I was 13) I begged my mom to get it on ppv for $2.99.
I wanted to like it so much that I accepted it. I Thought the whole cult thing could have been a good idea ( if done right) but it sucks. The director's cut is better but still what a disappointing chapter after the Halloween 5 cliffhanger.
I would rent the old movies all summer while on break so part 5 was pretty clear in my memory when I saw part 6. The " man in black " was a massive disappointment and so was everything else. No Danielle Harris , no nothing.
The only good thing about part 6 is Loomis and it's the best mask since 1&2. A few good kills but otherwise it literally killed my childhood ( watching it at 13) I realized that night that life sucks and nothing will ever live up to its potential.
So in a nutshell .... Halloween 666 The Origin of Michael Meyers and or The Curse of Michael Meyers pushed me into a illfated sarcastic and angry adulthood where I question everything and assume I'll be disappointed by anything that's built up to be great.
All because of Halloween 6

ITS A HEADSCRATCHER
Fun fact in H5 Donald Pleasants accidentally hit the actor playing Micheal to hard and broke his nose
"ITS IMPOSSIBLE TO SEE PAST THIS LOGIC" I facepalmed the exact same time as Gary did 😂 and Iain you knew what to expect from this trilogy you got me laughing with those great comments also. But man oh man 5 and 6 were just awfull films to boot! Great reviews though bros 👊
Donald Pleasance always brought his A game to these last 3 Halloween films that were not that good in my opinion.
As a kid loved 6 for the action sequences but growing up realised how much of a mess the storyline is. One of Michaels original strengths was his simplicity and lack of motive he kills whoever he comes across without reason ( which is more scary than an elaborate storyline) and not because of some lame drunken tattoo he once got. OTSR 👊👊
the ending doesn't say Loomis is cursed he's now Michael watcher like Win
Depends on the version you watch, I never watched the Director's Cut, I prefer the theatrical
23:28 Why does Gary look like he wants to smack Iain for saying that he recommended this film?
Spitting Image puppet at 16:58, lol!
not strange to realize DG never directed another american film after H5.
if u say 5 or 6 is the worst of the series i got 1 ? for u HAVE U SEEN PART8?????????????????????
busta was cool
the only good part of Halloween 5 was the opening credits shots with the carving pumpkin.
Donald and Danielle were great too.
The Masks after Halloween II were absolutely atrocious! They were comedic and NOT scary at all.
Didn't you think it was going to get worst the minute Tina appeared before the cops?
Great as always! please, review the texas chainsaw massacre saga!
I'm genuinely confused by Iain's recommendation barometer. Gary recommends H4, but not 5, and Iain did the complete opposite?
So he does not recommend Halloween 4, but he does recommend 5? I'm OK if he thinks 5 is better, but I don't feel that is what he's saying. I like H5, but IMO H4 is definitely better.
Great video! 👍🏽 🎃🎃
Even Danielle Harris WHO played Michael Myers niece Jamie Lloyd said out of her mouth that looking back on it she was disappointed at H5 she said she didn't like the fact Michael Myers in jail then some strange man kills all the police then breaking Michael out was a BAD IDEA. so that says it all the 2nd star of this movie didn't like the ending 😑👎
I want to give my own recommendation. I say skip the Theatrical Cut of The Curse of Michael Myers and watch Halloween 6: The Producers Cut instead.
Halloween 5 is the one Halloween sequel that grew off of me as opposed to growing on me like most films that I would watch at a younger/naive age. Nowadays, I skip 5 because it's unbearable to sit through. If not one of the worst sequels of the Halloween series, it and H2 (2009) and Resurrection. H5 makes H6 look like Braveheart.
dude, chill
I can review these in one sentence. Halloween 5 was pretty bad, but Halloween 6 was even worse.
Want to see a great Halloween movie? Watch the first, second, and fourth one. I even enjoyed the third (which had nothing to do with the series).
But stay away from any Halloween movie with Rob Zombie's name.
I thought the remake was fantastic, but the second Rob Zombie one was worse than AIDS.
amanda davis 7?
I wasn't a big fan of H20, partly because it didn't have the atmosphere of a Halloween night and trick or treating I guess.
But it's a pretty good horror film.
amanda davis comoeltley agree that 6 was worse than 5. Are you on crack. Halloween 5 is as bad as ressurection. 6 is criminally underrated. I don't even think you actually have 6 a try, and just regurgitating what everyone else says.
Anyone that says anything's worse than ressurection or 5, probably didn't go into it actually wanting to enjoy the movie, and just looking to shit on it, because of the thorn storyline. The thorn storyline wasn't even that bad.
You literally can't enjoy Halloween 5, no matter how hard you try, besides the last chase scene with Michael and Jamie, and maybe the showdown between Michael and Dr Loomis.
Yeah, to say someone is regurgitating what everyone else says is fucking stupid.
"Halloween 6" starts immediately insulting us by having Jamie Lloyd be much older than she should be, having a kid, played by a different actress, and quickly murdered. The movie was so confusing we didn't initially know who the fuck she was.
And then it got more confusing. I only saw the theatrical version, but I can't imagine anything would have helped that film.
plus are you gonna do the great zombie remake and the awful zombie sequel?
H5 Camaro is my fave movie car ever
i used to like halloween 6, watched my vhs so many times lol
I remeber seeing this at 13 when it was released direct to video here in the uk and knowing it was a piece of garbage and not wanting to admit it lol.Enjoyed the review lads.Nice One!
The feel and power of myers from 4&6 was the same, I dont know what happened in 5
I think 5 is the best of the sequels after 2. Unlike 4, it actually has tension and suspense. Danielle Harris is terrific as Jamie, even outshining Donald Pleasance, who is a bit hammy. I'd like to re-edit the film to cut most of the boring barn scene, minimise the comedy cops (or at least get rid of their "wacky" music), and remove the mysterious stalker entirely. This would make the whole movie much stronger.
6 is bad, possibly the worst of the series. The cult plot element removes Michael's agency and makes him just a tool, which reduces his menace and eliminates his mystery. The cursory fate of Jamie just feels like an insult. And poor Donald Pleasance is obviously near his end.

Paul Rudd did get better over the years.
And he got hotter!
Shame he never got funnier.
no as I watch part 5 over and over again I find myself liking it more and more. If they didn't rush the script along and took there time with it more it would had been just as good as Halloween 4, over all alot better then the RZ version. The only reason I give a f^&k about the RZ Halloween movies is that it has Danielle Harris in them. Over all to me part 5 was ok. So stop hating and just watch them, who the f&*k knows when or if there is ever going to be a Halloween 9!
In the book taking shape the Director for this says we had a really great mask
Just shows how a narcissist is the hero of his own story
Review Halloween 2018 please?:)
He gets out of the water and his mask is different and has a bigger nose and longer hair?
Worst Myers mask of all the movies.
Only good thing about Halloween 5 is the late great Donald pleasence 🙏🏻
3:50 Samhain actually pronounce as SOW-WIN
The mask in 5 was so much of a make up for 4 it was a distraction.
The thorn thing could have been amazing ( if left a mystery) but never solved.
Then wed have a motivation without an explanation.
Give us some but not all.
Halloween 6 had the right idea but they get too excited about mixing scripts together than telling a story the fans actually want.
I was just excited that the mask looked good , Michael was tall and imposing and he was truly scary.
See h20 if you dont know what i mean. The guy that played Ghostface from scream played michael in h20 , once you know that , you see it immediately.
Why the mask was stuck to his face and why hes crosseyed for the entire fim ? Ill never understand.
Imagine h20 with a good mask and a tall and slow Michael.
Itd be a home run.
Whoever thought that his performance should be as it was needs a kick
In Halloween 5 and 6 that's not the Myers house .
