@@jdub9119 Hamauzu-san deserves to flex as hard as he wants with that accomplishment in his backpocket. What's kinda an even bigger flex is how he goes on to trivialize it as merely 'the first time I helped Uematsu-san out'. Hamauzu has grown tremendously as a composer since 1996/7...as any good composer would, of course and Im really glad how everything came full circle for him. The man can retire now and still be a legend.
That transition from the OG Prelude to the new one legitimately hit me so, so hard. I just had this rush of memories come pouring in. I remember my mom buying me this game when I was about 8 or 9 and I've been in love with this series ever since. Amidst all the turmoil in the world and my life at the moment, I'm so grateful for this game.

I am so happy that Masashi Hamauzu composed / arranged for this. He's the GOAT. And the fact that Nobuo Uematsu recommended him... gods recognize gods.

@@MikaMausArt Couldnt have put it any better and they have been showing making that pronouncement more and more evident these days. Uematsu is arguably a bit lacking but I imagine Square Enix sending their own 'Reno and Rude' to Uematsu's remote home in Japan and dragging him out by force to keep writing 'that singular theme' and then they return their kidnapped composer home. Shimomura is arguably the Queen of Videogame music at this time and is quite the underdog but she can name drop some of the biggest games as things she's worked on. Street Fighter, Super Mario RPG and the games on GBA, Kingdom Hearts, Xenoblade Chronicles and of course, Final Fantasy XV! I would like to talk about Hamauzu now but Im such a fan of his, Id end up writing a full thesis about him full of gushing admiration...so I wont. Id just say he's been killing it since his Final Fantasy debut in FFX. He didnt disappoint then with his surreal style and he hasnt faltered in FFXIII trilogy, World of FF or even the stuff he does with Furyu on 3DS. All amazing composers that have influenced my own composition style and continue to inspire me! Square did great to find these 'gods' so early in their company's development!

From the sound of it I think they've done justice to Uematsu's compositions.
Having played the game, they have, and honestly I'm amazed at the level of both authenticity they were able to retain while simultaneously creating some incredibly creative arrangements/genre mashups. The music in this game is beyond amazing.
@@lingzhou6067 Even the wholly new stuff is absolutely bumpin. Some of those new tracks took me back to FFX and the best parts of FFXIII.
The Main theme is already a masterpiece. It just touches your heart.
The music team has done a phenomenal job. They have elevated Nobuo Uematsu’s cherished 23-year-old compositions to new heights and added enough new ideas to feel like a brand-new soundtrack. I don’t see how this won’t win game soundtrack of the year.
Knowing the Soundtrack they are selling of this game has like 7 discs plus a bonus one tells me that they enjoy every second of it.

It makes you wonder what they will do for episode 2 though. They have already arranged most tracks from the whole original game and they're perfect. I wouldn't be mad if they reused the same tracks but knowing this team, they'll probably create even better arrangements even though it seems impossible to me.

I wanna tell Mr. Kawamori that he and his team at Square went above and beyond what they set to achieve: while playing Remake, my first ever Final Fantasy, I was so invested I immediately bought the original and had a blast discovering such a classic, a true gem of a game.
The soundtrack of the remake hit me in the feels. Can’t wait to hear the new version of the Can You Hear The Cry of The Planet in Part 2, by far my favourite song from the original. So hyped and I can’t wait to play my copy.
I can just think of Sephiroth in the background while that OST is playing... I can't wait either

You can hear it in one of the ending scenes in this game as a piano track, actually. It's more of a leitmotif/reprisal than the full remade theme though. But it was still nice to hear.
The music and graphics are just great breathtaking
Yeah its beautiful, but not flawless after the first part of the game when U get to the slums U can see lots of low resolution backgrounds, etc. Hopefully they will fix that on the first patch. Could be problem of the Unreal Engine it has lots of the texture loading issues. OST is top notch!

@@peraryygar9951 A lot of the people who cry about these stuff are mostly people that have no idea how game development works. You think veteran game devs at square wouldnt make it better if it could be done better? Maybe they just couldnt make them better with it not impacting the gameplay. I think they know better.
@@AionShanks Not crying just saying it got some low renders that doesnt seem so breathtaking and like I said before it could be Unreal Engine problem so if that's the case then devs cannot do a thing about it. And for your information, I finished the game and enjoyed every second! So peace out and chill man, take a cookie or something.
@@peraryygar9951 I am not talking about you, I see a lot of people that go around and say "the game looks terrible" , look at these low res textures. But thing is, if it could be made better in the ps4 hardware, it would be. It simply cant, there is no reason what so ever that the devs would make it look worse on purpose. That is what people dont get. Uncharted 4 looks incredible for example, but there are some textures that are really low res, yet nobody talked about that, why? It wasnt a problem then and it isnt now, because as a package the game looks great, they know where to make the sacrifices for the full product to look better as a whole. Im glad you enjoyed it by the way im playing it in 2 days! Cheers

It’s just because of the ending. Most people wanted to see what if Zack was alive? Now that people have got it, they’re complaining smh.

One of the best musical moments of this game is when you get to wall market and the same song changes genres depending on which area of wall market you're in.
The music is perfectly synchronized with the events. Sometimes it even emphasizes the right moment in the novel-game.
The developers have literally put their soul into this work. Thank you

I'd love it to be available there as well, but we'll probably have to wait until after May, seeing as that's when the full soundtrack CD set comes out.

CALLED IT. As I've been saying for months, using a full orchestra instead of synths doesn't mean that they're trying to make this soundtrack more "formulaic".
It means they're trying to evolve it.

@Alex - He was also referring to the music being MIDI files in the original. Not sure if you are aware of how MIDI files worked but they actually used the hardware (plystation itself) to produce sounds. Kinda cool knowing that back in the day THAT is what they relied on for a majority of sounds and STILL came up with an epic soundtrack that still lives up to this day. Really cant wait to get my hands on this one! Just over 29 hours to go!

I took a break from playing FF7R just to watch this, I got the game but I still want more, I want to know everything to do with this beautiful game:)
B v c k r o o m I love it, every single second of the game is so meaningful and packed with so much character and story driven content it’s astonishing actually just how much they packed into this game, if your buying it bruva then I can guarantee you are going to love it.
aw lucky guy, i pre ordered the deluxe edition at eb games which comes with a bonus shinra keycard, it said i can pick it up in stores at launch date which is tomorrow but its closed sue to covid 19 so ill need to wait until it reopens. the og, people at the time said that FF7 was ahead of its time and i agree, i can also say the same for this game the visuals are so appealing
ps i played the OG when i was a kid and loved it, i loved both FF7 and legend of dragoon from ps1 i still have the disks to this day :D
Crimson Karma can’t articulate how much your going love this game but as one of the original players in 1997 this game is going to mean so much to you. EB games off full of BS, if they even remotely cared about honouring orders they would have gone on their data base system and contacted you via call, text message or email and ask you if they can redirect the game to your house free delivery. But they are lazy and greedy so of course they didn’t do that, it’s a liberty you have to wait even longer while the game is already out:(
imho the hidden star of this soundtrack is a man whom I'm sure will get more recognition in the future for his huge talent: SHOTARO SHIMA. He is the one responsible for rearranging most of the songs from OG FFVII (most notably Opening/Bombing Mission, Main Theme, Scorpion Sentinel and Rufus Shinra boss themes) and it was his first major experience as a composer (Undercity Suns, The Day Midgar Stood Still, ecc.).
His arrangements are so powerful no wonder the tracks chosen for the trailers were mostly his!
This game is beyond my wildest dreams and the music is just perfect. It is probably the best aspect of it.
I can't stop jamming to this soundtrack even three years later. One of my favorite things about this Remake is sitting in my living room as an adult and blasting that stuff. I turn down the dialogue and sound effects and then play for twelve hours at a time because the music keeps me hooked so easily.

Hearing Aerith's theme again... oh the feels are real.
I first played final fantasy 7 on Christmas Morning, when I was like 12 years old. This game just hits different for me.
Hamauzu-san putting the FFXIII-2 dynamic music skills he learned to the test.
If I could have one wish right now, it would be to let the people who created the music for this game, from Nobuo Uematsu through to those who handled the arrangements in the remake, just how much pure joy they have given me. I loved everything about the remake, but the music was simply a miraculous achievement. It was an impossibly perfect evocation of the original soundtrack, and the way it fit the story as it evolved and changed was just brilliant.
This may very well be the greatest ever soundtrack to any game. The only other contenders would be... well, other Final Fantasy games.
To think a behind the scenes video would grab at my emotions! This music is beyond words!
The music and graphics are a new level of awesome for sure in this game!
There is an arrangement of two characters' theme in the Remake (no spoilers), who are basically narrative foils and it's so beautiful. The arrangement is very contrasting and yet it brings out the parallels between the two characters. Can't wait for other people to catch onto this.

So much respect for the team. In design, its not easy to "make it better" when that something is already so perfect and well loved. It is so easy to go wrong or make it worse and disgrace the entire thing. Its a super stressful work! Especially music, since music is timeless and does not age in the literal sense... but they did it! And the best of all is they constantly give hella mad respect to the legend Nobuo Uematsu,

there are easily half a dozen variations lol. One upbeat one for the dress, one mixed with cloud's theme heard here and there
20hrs in, just after the train graveyard and I'm loving this game to hell! Great job!
That MASTS thing is insane. My god... The love they put into this game is just crazy! So much respect for these guys!
The music direction is really on point and at times even pretty bold, but i liked them all. There is so much variety in terms of styles and it reframes some scenes or adds to them in interesting ways. Also was it interesting to learn about the MASTS, because the dynamic audio of the materials and equipment on the characters really stood out to me. This is quite an achievement as much as the dynamic music. I stopped more than once in the game wondering just how much time must have gone into the creative process of everything in this game. As players we often only think things like"oh Yeah, that made sense that they have done it this way", but the devs where in the situation to come up with those design decisions. This talent really can't be praised enough.
The level of detail you guys brought to this game is incredible. Square, you all nailed it.
I'm loving my playthrough right now and can't wait to do it all again.

I love the soundtrack to the remake, particularly in how they reimagined some of the more emotional pieces of music from the original. Really fresh and at times even more emotionally resonant. Really appreciate the work these guys put in.

I remember buying the OST. I've loved it up until this day. Hopefully they will release an OST once it's all done. for the record I was 19 when this came out. One of my greatest wishes was to meet Mr. Uematsu in person and shake his hand for how much he has enriched my life with his music. I've bought all of the FF OST up to 10, and all the spin off albums that were only released in Japan.
Besides the gameplay the music is this games biggest strength.

GameRex I haven’t seen the ending. I haven’t played it yet not until Friday. However based on the reviews and the people I know who have played it, this is a complete reimagining not a remake.
@@rezalzalahmusic7605 first time seeing it I didn't know whether to be angry or not... but after some thinking, I thought, woah this can work for Part 2 and 3... plus I like the twist because it is a Remake and the original will always be its thing... basically I'm fine with the ending now and excited for what's to come...

My ears were crying as much as my eyes were in the other videos. Good tears, happy tears. My singular complaint is there's no finger snaps in the Turks' theme. That's it. OMG 2 days for me...
There are so many great tracks on this soundtrack. I'd say some of them are just masterpieces.

The music in FF7 is the greatest ever and always makes me emotional 💙😍😭... Hearing the remake versions is awesome!
FF is not FF without their magnificent compositions
I just realized: with the way they implement multiple versions of many tracks, this soundtrack may be one of, if not the largest in FF history when we total all the potential parts of this game (series).
Also, I await the many medley compilations people come up with using this vast selection of music.

I just finished the game. Don’t want to spoil it. All I can say is it has a lot of magic moments and some really bad moments. A mixed feeling. But, the nostalgia/music/locations combined with the battle system is awesome. Enjoy your play trough :)

Synysterpain I’d say it’s not certain - the ending open all sorts of possibilities. So I believe people freaks out because they don’t really know. :) It’s either a good or bad thing. Time will tell

The soundtrack to this game is the best ive ever heard, air buster version 3 ost had me off my seat, like literally lol i really enjoyed the game, im currently on chapter 14 on hard mode now 😞 lol
