    I know I’m 4 years late to the party, but thank you for this detail. Also, I loved at 3:50, two Angel Fish decided to waltz across the front together. I love how fish (or my crayfish) just know when other fish are getting more attention. “Oop, back from the fish auction? Time to moult!! Lookit me!” lol

    I just got these yesterday, never kept these as i usually keep boesemani or turquoise rainbows. Mine are a bit skittish but they eat like the others ive kept in the past. Love them and love this care guide!

      Keeping more females than males is an ABSOLUTE MUST with these fish.... you're LFS will probably not know this or even how to identify genders! take it from me, it's a bad situation to be in when there are really high male to female ratios. If you're lucky (meaning the males don't stress the lone female to death), you end up having to isolate the female until your LFS can get more in and you can get more females to balance the ratio out. It can be a tricky situation if you don't have quarantine/back up tank... you may have to put her in a breeder net that you hang off the tank, and that's not ideal long term... fingers crossed the LFS (I called 4 lol) get more neons in....

    These were some of my first Rainbows, and I still keep them. Often confused with the new to the hobby and more vividly colored, Wapoga Rainbows, they are stunners. For simplicity in form and color these guys are some of the most elegant, inexpensive, hardy fish to keep. Addictive so beware! Great information Kendall.

      Thanks Bob, I knew you have kept them for a long time! Have you ever had successful spawns from them? I'm thinking about throwing a trio into the 20long I just got and seeing what I can do with them!

      @CaylorsReptilesAquatics 5 лет назад

      Haven't kept them that long. Just started keeping 'bows last summer. An Emerald, a few Yellows, then the Dwarfs. Have not bred any of them, but see them all spawning daily. Do plan to breed the Goldei Dekiai I got from Lucas. Theyre almost big enough now. @@OtterCreekAquatics

      Parkinsoni are doing great. Grew out quite large. His Wagogas, got the same shipment, are almost grown too. The Goldei exhibit spawning action for the past couple weeks. Just have to isolate them and do the stuff necessary to get em rocking. I might sell the eggs as well, like Gary and Lucas. I'm not that eager to grown tiny fry out, but I'm sure I will be doing so soon. Thanks Kendall@@OtterCreekAquatics

    Well done! These guys really are gorgeous! You have quite a beautiful school of them - I was surprised that you could keep 6 in a 20 long - so that is great news then for a lot of people who would like to try these guys. You covered all the bases really well! Do you plan to breed them extensively? Sounds like you could have no troubles doing that. Thanks for a great guide my friend!

    I'm planning on this exact set up. 55g is cycling now. I'm also going to have platys or rummy nose. At what age do the praecox start showing colors? Also. I've never had angelfish. Is there a particular type that's the least aggressive? I like the cobalt blues but that might be too much blue with the praecox. Koirala marble or platinum pandas are great looking as well. How many angelfish should I keep?
