I'm left in awe of your knowledge and expertise in reviving this part of American history. You truly have a gift in reviving these old relics and bringing them back from the graveyard of disposed metal. Thank you for what you are doing and thank you for sharing with all of us. My best to you, Kelly and Tyler this Thanksgiving season. You've brought much entertainment to me in watching your wisdom and knowledge at work. Thank YOU!!!
Love your videos. I had a GM 5305 , 1968 model with an 871 coupled to I believe a VS 82 automatic that know one new anything about. I purchased the bus from a church down here in NC . They upgraded to a newer MCI . I went to the church , cranked the bus up gave her a good look over , well the best I new anyway. I drove the bus and decided to buy it. I asked the preacher why they were selling and he told me they wanted a newer and larger bus . I asked no problems that you know of correct ? His answer was no it’s been great. Well got her home . The next day it rained !!! I believe every damn window seal in it leaked along with the roof mounted fans leaking in the back , oh and the outside tire was flat on the right rear . Mind you I purchased it from a Church with the preacher negotiating. Lol . Come to find out the bus had different color seats in the back . I just blew this off as an upgrade several years prior. What I did not realize that bus was a GM Demonstrator. Passenger/ Freighter. I had already gutted it after finding this out . I did a partial conversion on it , enjoyed it for a few years and let her go to a good home . I feel bad about gutting it . It might have been worth allot being what it was if brought back original. Sorry for the long story , but had to share after watching all your videos. Take Care Jay M
Hearing these old buses is a sound many of us remember from the past. Nobody wanted to follow a bus because of the black smoke and smell of the exhaust. But its kinda cool to hear one again. 👍
To hear that beautiful big old bus burst back into life was truly amazing and literally blew me away. I’ve subscribed to your channel and I’m watching more of your videos but given that I’ve only just found this place it already feels like home.
Nice looking bus. Every Old Bus first start must not be boring to tackle, but very rewarding, once she starts, I’ll bet. You seem to be running across better buses, now that you’re on the road again.
There is a Roosa-Master either fuel filter or water filter just above the parking brake on the bulkhead. You can get them from a John Deere Dealer or similar. I do not know if they are available at Rural King or TSC or NAPA. NAPA might be able to get them. That is a great filter and very easy to change.
How good a condition is that bus Thank goodness it was inside for most of the time off the road I hope it goes back inside soon and then gets sorted and back on the road Will be looking forward to the next episode of this bus being fixed Thank you 🙏😍😍👍👍
Had to stop the video to type this. Scott is a spitter. I laughed so hard as what I thought was actually verbally communicated between the two of them. Love it!!
Definitely something that need to be addressed before driving. Check to see if it is driven and/or pumping air, remove the pump and plug the opening or the partially filled loop hose may work.
Hey I really been enjoying your videos on the buses. Love them old buses. Brings back a lot of memories. I live in southern Minnesota just by the Iowa border. There used to be a Silverside about 5 miles from me. It's sat there for many years. I tried to buy it at one time, but the guy did not want to sell. I noticed a couple of years ago that it was no longer there. I heard that that he had drove it to a scrap yard and sold it. But I don't know if that is true. I will ask the man someday where it went. I just subscribed to your Channel. Keep them coming. I love the sound of those Detroit's.
That bus may have had a Hydro-shift transmission, Those transmissions had an external hydraulic pump to operate the clutches for the Hydro shift components. The drive coupling for the pump may have been removed so the pump will not turn.
I have watched many of your videos and really look forward to the wrap up on each project. I have trouble navigating around the video collection. Is there a numbering or naming scheme of some kind that could make it easier to watch video in order and related to specific projects?
Scott, thank you again for making the special stop to work on the 1960 4104. I had a blast working along side of you and celebrating with a high-5 when she roared back to life. I learned a lot and can’t wait to do it again! For the record, Scott is just the same in person as he is on the channel. He is a true professional and a great guy! Here are some videos I shot of the 4104 when we went to buy it if anyone is interested. m.ruclips.net/video/LTyk6eZg8pg/видео.html m.ruclips.net/video/u0-XugFHPq0/видео.html
I would say yes as we used to run trucks with 6v71s in them & 4 stroke other brands we had would return 7mpg, the Detroits would return 5 mpg at best, a shame as I loved the Detroit 2 stroke scream!
In past videos, that pump was connected to 2 fuel canisters, connected in parallel?, mounted to the right of the engine, right where those empty 4 holes are
@12:33 you used two way radios a few videos ago, they must have been that guys radios. I've been thinking for a while that you need to get a set of them for just this reason

It won’t be long before Scott has fixed all the old buses in North America. Another one rescued.
Beautiful bus there! We are in NC so welcome when you get here.
i always find such old vehicles interesting and even more beautiful when they are brought back to run..nice greetings from germany
The bus got a big grin on it’s front end after you blew through his fuel lines. 🤣🤣🤣 lmao
Yeah, it made me think of the autopilot from Airplane....
IMO Scott you and Kelly have jobs that are never boring.
Mi hermano manejo uno de estos cuando trabajo en transportes del norte que hacían conexión con la greyhound saludos desde Mexico muy buen trabajo
Hearing these old buses is a sound many of us remember from the past.
Nobody wanted to follow a bus because of the black smoke and smell of the exhaust. But its kinda cool to hear one again. 👍
I don't know exactly what it is but I love seeing these buses, that haven't run in decades, burst into life.
To hear that beautiful big old bus burst back into life was truly amazing and literally blew me away.
I’ve subscribed to your channel and I’m watching more of your videos but given that I’ve only just found this place it already feels like home.
Thanks Kelly for getting the great shots of Scott fixing the Driptroits lol
Man, I wish I could find something like that close to us here in Florida, a beautiful bus.
Nice looking bus. Every Old Bus first start must not be boring to tackle, but very rewarding, once she starts, I’ll bet. You seem to be running across better buses, now that you’re on the road again.

After blowing the bus, you may have not wanted a smoke, but it sure did!
Beautiful machine. Look forward to the follow up.

Spitters are quitters! Rolf! Nice job getting it running!
Had to stop the video to type this. Scott is a spitter. I laughed so hard as what I thought was actually verbally communicated between the two of them. Love it!!
Starting spray? I think you mean Glow Plug in a Can!
You're all such a riot, by the way, I almost spit out my drink when your son called it that.
I just love the sound of those engines.
9:50 Kelly you win the Internet. Good job keeping that guy in line
Another Detroit Diesel rumbling to life. Ahhh, Such a sweet sound.
Well done sir. Great camera work as well. ✌️😎
"I am not blowing a bus" LMAO!
?
@ Lol...I think it was suppose to be humorous, although it was quite gutterish! Lol...HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE & have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!(2020)
I just wonder if any laws were broken? Love the videos. Thank you.
Open pump. Put a loop of Hose on it filled with some kind of lube and some room for air. Allowing the fluid to expand as the engine warms up.
Definitely something that need to be addressed before driving. Check to see if it is driven and/or pumping air, remove the pump and plug the opening or the partially filled loop hose may work.
Nice!! Maybe a wind guard for the camera mic, if winds keep picking up?
Scott. It never gets old to see you bring those Detroit's back to life. Kelly however might take exception to your request about blowing the bus.
Very well done getting the bus running and sounds really good, great vid and thanks for sharing with us.

Scott, you made me spit my coffee out.... durex is Britain’s leading brand of condoms!
A spiter. Got to love you guys.
Kelly you win the internet award for the week!! LMAO!!
I think for the entire year
Nice still has the original 275 amp alternator. Hopefully she comes to life and charges the batteries.
Scott is the Dr. Frankenstein of the Detroit Diesel engine...it’s alive.....Alive!!!!
Congratulations for the good work ... regards direct from Brazil ...
Carlos

Bingo!
I dont know how I found your channel, but I love these videos, and the buses. 👍👍
Gotta be the most humorous upload I've seen on this channel!
For sites long as she did, she sounds good and strong
Koni shock absorbers, they are very good!
8:48 So, is this like a family-friendly channel or something more advanced? 🤪
lovely to hear that 6-71 roar back to life awesome sound
Good work! Looking forward to the next video. Love from Norway 🇳🇴
Oh, that darn schedule. Scott, don't you just hate to leave with the brakes not working?
Like the paint job on it...
9:00 - 9:53 _"I'm gonna blow the bus" ... "you're a spitter, huh?"_ lol! (You two are something!) ;)
I wish we had Rural King stores in this area! I bought an M1A Scout Squad from them online last year.
I stumbled across your channel and Im hooked.
Love the risqué innuendo discussion.
The Bus Whisperer Strikes Again. Fine Running Machine.
I have watched many of your videos and really look forward to the wrap up on each project. I have trouble navigating around the video collection. Is there a numbering or naming scheme of some kind that could make it easier to watch video in order and related to specific projects?
Scott you blew a seal! No honest it’s ice cream.
Still laughing now Scott, what with Kelly who won't blow the bus & you hitting 'big wood' with the bus, it pays to have good humor on these jobs.
I can see the joy in your face.
Also don't forget the blinker fluid lol
Scott, would you have a use for ratcheting box-end wrenches if gifted? Thank you for this great video. Love this bus.
Hey Scott, we usually call our buses by female names, so if the bus is female “ blowing” would be the wrong verb! Hahaha!
Normally, bakes don't unset until you build pressure, always hated waiting for pressure to leave yard.
These videos are fascinating!!!!
Dial in that idle, beautiful man!
Scott it's always about the diagnosis, do you have piolet control valves on that old machine.
Great videos! Thank u
Your in Portland is that right some drive to north carolina after not moving in 28 years good look hope it makes it
It is in Ohio, not Portland.
I’d like to see snap on or Mac tools help Scott out! He would make a great spokesperson for there tools.
“You’re a spitter, huh?”
Bob said below... is that orphan the hydraulic fan drive pump?? WillyB
That is a nice bus :)
I love your channel.
The front direction signals light up when the brakes are applied! 😎
Sure is a nice looking bus
" I'm Not Blown' The Bus " .. LOL..
Success!👍🚌🔧
Did you figure out what that disconnected pump is for?
What is the name of the store you got the coolant & batteries from? Great Vid. Thank you GOT it RURAL KING. Thanks Again
Rural king
Im sure you guys successfully killed every mosquito in a 1 mile area around that bus :-P
Thanks for the video.

Nice work!
"IT'S ALIVE!" lol
Blowing bubbles!!!!!
Hahaha
You need a Mike wind guard to help stop all that wind noice.
is it true that these 2 stroke diesels are very heavy on fuel?
I would say yes as we used to run trucks with 6v71s in them & 4 stroke other brands we had would return 7mpg, the Detroits would return 5 mpg at best, a shame as I loved the Detroit 2 stroke scream!
Are you going to get the power steering done on your bus sir?
In past videos, that pump was connected to 2 fuel canisters, connected in parallel?, mounted to the right of the engine, right where those empty 4 holes are
SCOTT, Injection is NICE but BLOWN IS BETTER!!
Question why change a bus from Hydraulic FAN to Belt when you could go all the way to Electric fan or fans setup?
Scott are the silversides easy to find ?
LOVE THIS BUS IT'S COOL
Nice thing about detroits is they all come with blowers, but the scavengers always seem to spit.
Good job!!!!! 👍👍👍👍
LOL - when the engine first fired, the bus owner backed away in a hurry. Maybe he thought it was going to BLOW 💨
Blow smoke in the case!
I aint the fashion police but someone needs to buy this guy something besides sweats. The thought of trying to work in sweat pants... miserable.
I wonder if that pump is for the hydra shift , wet clutch hi lo splitter
Next stop:. Hey Lance!
@12:33 you used two way radios a few videos ago, they must have been that guys radios. I've been thinking for a while that you need to get a set of them for just this reason
Tom Arnold when did you start working on busses?
Any plans for travel to Arizona?
Detroit's sing when they run!
This one sounds healthy.
Scott? If there is one of the injectors stuck, does it mean you have to replace them all??
Greets from Holland
Jur
No, you just have to get it unstuck.
