- Going to see about buying a 4104 gm rv bus conversion for sale on Facebook marketplace. Ad says the clutch is out so hopefully everything else is operational.
Those "marketplace" finds can be scary. You guys are the right team to check it out and ease the nerves of any new buyer.
Second, on their being the right team to check it out. I can't imagine how someone new to old buses could ever even think about taking on a project like this.
I lifted a set of 8Ds into a high place on a truck when I was in my 20s and my back was sore, I can still feel the pain in my mind.
I hope we get to watch as you revive that old retired cruiser.
man, one more guy checking in with
Lenny sure is lookin' good!
Not that the big fella didn't look great with his old Patina of Age, but the number one job of any paint being to Protect the Surface, this just gives me a warm glow all over.
You've put that bus in better shape than it ever saw in its service life, and have ensured its operational longevity for another quarter- or half-century, easy.
.
Well done, sir. Good on you.
.
Boy, how great is it to have a young strong man like Johnathan around! I really miss son since he moved to Texas! Getting too old!
Scott, you need a service vehicle, maybe a long trailer with all the stuff in it you need for a service call, get a goose neck you could adapt it to your recently purchased Int. Transparent would be perfect, just a consideration, would sure make your Tahoe last a lot longer.
That air filter looked really handy, especially for sucking dust into engine destroying bores liners pistons and valves too, looked like a fish pond filter
Sure is nice to have the young kids to do all the heavy lifting😂
I'm running out of time so my Winnebago, 1988 Superchief will have to do, but I enjoy your posts and now know for sure getting a Diesel Pusher is not in my future. I drove MC 7's for one job and really wanted one as an RV. Maybe in my next life? Thanks for you and your site!
David...Chelan Wa.
i saw that ad and thought hey Scott needs to see this!
Looking forward to seeing that old bus run and move.
I'm so wanting to buy a old Greyhound. Having owned a few school buses I've converted and traveled in getting 10 to 12 mpg,the fuel mileage of a Greyhound is what prevents me with today's fuel prices. If I do one day,it be for local use only or just to have because I want one. Addiction is real!
The only cure is to buy more!
That home made air filter looked like a swamp cooler filter pack. Overall looks promising.
Probably set up a small trailer to have all the tools, batteries, equipment that all ready just to hook up and roll.
Sounds like it should be free to just take away.
I’m betting they paid $5k for it so they’re not willing to let it go for less than $4200. Until it sits a few months or a handful of people offer them $500
Scott- Johnathan is a horse ! Those batteries are very heavy! I know that first handed!
I was thinking he's a Hulk!
Least those are up high. I used to drive a charter boat with two of those and they were never charged enough as the alternator wasn't working properly.
I fully believe that airconditioned/ventilated seats are the best/most important option in any car or truck. :)
My balls agree
Hopefully you see this but I have a long story I’ll try to make short… we are trying to find a home for a 1957 4104 that my grandparents bought in the late 70s and drove from North Carolina to Las Vegas in and it’s been parked in their backyard here ever since. They started doing a motorhome remodel on it but that never finished. I think it’s all there unmolested but it’s just sat for the last 40 years. I posted on a Facebook page about it and many people mentioned you so here I am. I can send pictures and FaceTime you with more info about it. The body is in great shape and probably has potential. I’d hate to have to scrap it out after finding this bus community that I didn’t know existed this many years later. Hope to hear from you!

2 things, Lenny’s paint is such a beautiful blue, looking good. 2, how good are those AC in the seats? I sweat so bad, I think I would like them. Can you feel a big difference?
You don’t stick to the seats and sweat like a normal leather seat without it would. It’s noticeable but not as drastic of a difference as the heated seat mode is.
keep the clips coming
That was exciting ...
Run my off grid cabin in Alaska with one of those batteries. Once a week drag it to front porch hook cables to Nissan pickup and let it idle over night.
just buy a lithium trolling battery for 100 bucks that will work 10 times better
Polish it up,make it waterproof, and then mancave it somewhere
The only value that bus has is in scrap value and the cost to haul it away is nearly the same as the scrap value. Some people think what they have is gold when it is nearly worthless. The bigger something is that does not run the less value it has. I wouldn't pay more than a couple hundred dollars for a bus like this. When I have to bring out my W900 and my RBN my own cost just goes up.
It’s much more valuable as a parts bus than scrap. But it doesn’t have to be a parts bus it can be revived.
@@BusGreaseMonkey The last old gm bus I scrapped was a 1964 4106 and I pulled most of the more valuable parts and sold them and after that my Volvo 460 excavator reduced what was left into a pile for scrap.
What in rolling thunder happened to the side? witch video did i miss?
Great video! tHank you
That motor is toast even if it does run!
The air filter certainly took years of its life. An oil analysis would probably be ugly.
@@BusGreaseMonkey I wonder if it will still have any piston rings?😆
Dusted...😢😢
With that air cleaner, that engine is done
I might be interested in this bus. I am in need of a place to live...I am in NC. Will watch and what happens. Contact me about it when you have time
Why did you plut the Tahoe into it? :)
Has Goose Egg # 183884. There will be some info on it in FMCA.
Is this bus still available?
What is the asking price?
I'm getting old-er...MC9's too!
Did you ever find out what was wrong with the VW Thing? If I recall the last time, I saw that it didn't have the usual hoses that go from the fan housing to the heater boxes around the exhaust manifolds. Got to have those working to keep the heads from overheating.
I think he said they found a second fuel filter that was pluged.
Towards the end of the video about the thing they found a collapsed fuel line and a second filter that was gummed up. Once those were sorted the thing was running sweetly.
@@edmonhaddad3335 and a nearby kinked fuel line. It was a hack job.
Good. Somehow I missed that. Glad to see it was a simple fix.
Bumperette?
how do you find bus that cheap looking for one myself
This one is for sale. Purchase price is always the smallest investment
That engine will be "dusted" with scored liners etc from the joke of an air filter, probably needed a rebuild anyway.
It’s a shame for sure.
Scott, looks more capable than a K-N lmao!
Load up the Taco
Worth a grand... Selling for 5500 🤣
Kinda sounds like the bus is over priced, I'm sure someone will be interested, the air filter has probably about ruined the engine. 😢
Maybe he should give you $2500 to take it?
That "air filter" would be a warning to me.
Offer him 1.000 dollars and you will get it off his property.
No he won't

what a waste of time you didn't get it going
When you go to look at a vehicle on market place that says it runs you expect to see it run when you go to look at it. I was not told it didn’t have batteries hooked up to it.
