Considering it's 60 something years old and been sitting out in the weather it's in very clean shape. There's a guy in my area who has a small cable shovel and as a kid every time we'd go by his house it was always sitting in one spot for the longest time and never seemed to move. Because it was always incredibly rusty and it never moved I thought it was abandoned there. But I was told by my father that the guy used it for moving stone and dirt. Just in recent years he cleaned up the main body of it and painted it red. So now it looks like it gets attention and not just being a rusty lawn ornament. :)

That CAT 212 is a real piece of work... BUT.!! When you actually look behind the peeling paint, the machine is in exceptional condition. If it has spent most of its life on the farm it should be simple to clean up and get on the trail again. Most farmers take good care of their equipment and maintain them. You shouldn't find any worn-out joints and fittings like you find on contractor's stuff...and no hoses to rot off.
The shovel looks like it just needs a bit of love and some paint. Everything is looking good. The sheet metal is not all beat up and rusted away. Some new cables might be good to make sure it keeps going while in operation... You done good..!!!

If that El Camino was truly a CA car then 7750 was a cheap buy. It’s pretty rare to see one that good of condition for under 10K.

When it’s something you need that budget turns into “the minimum I’ll pay for it” real quick.

Matt, I think the new shop floor is already filling up with projects to be worked on! Then again, if they don't work, fresh paint and new decals and drag them to the Richie Brothers next auction!
