If you need sand bags, use empty milk jugs and fill with water and hang them on the stand. Works great on location near water, when done with shoot just empty them out. Light and mobile. Thanks for sharing your info.
This is a brilliant idea!!! Thank you so much for sharing this tip! 😊
@@KayleighJune You are very welcome.
wao that sounds interesting but are the sand bags for stability?
This was SOOOO helpful! Don’t find these type of videos on RUclips that often! Thank you so much!!!
Thanks so much Amelia! So glad you like it ☺
Thank you for sharing your setup. I'm a makeup artist in a smaller city that's wanting to shoot some of my own beauty and hair work so finding a beginner-friendly home setup like this is wonderfully helpful.
No worries! I agree it's so hard to find that perfect setup for those of us living in cities and apartments, sometimes it takes a bit of trial and error but eventually you can find something that works for you! ☺
Great setup but if you use that room regularly, I would fix a couple of hooks high on the wall to hold the crossbar for your backdrop and do away with the two stands...Far less clutter in a small space. With a bit of thought, it would be easy to make the hooks removable, and just put them in place when needed...
hi Kayleigh, just a wee thought here regarding sand-bags for the light-stands.i went to my local beach and filled a couple of plastic shopping bags with sand.i divided this sand into sperate bags at home and sealed the plastic bags with tape.i then cut the legs off some old pairs of trousers, and placed the sand-filled plastic bags inside the trouser legs.sewed the legs, then sealed again, with tape.cheap and cheerful sand-bags for the added security of using light stand with heavier lights and modifiers.
Oooh such a great idea! Thanks for the suggestion Derek 😀
Thanks for tips and wow you are beautiful! :)
how many watts your both lights and are they both impulse/flash ?
thank you
How do you keep your fabric backdrops wrinkle free? I would love to know your tips :) I am a freelance model and I shoot in a small home studio when I am not actively shooting outside. My Muslin backdrops have been a pain to get the wrinkles out lol and I want them to be perfect for some upcoming tethered shoots!
I like your makeup today, so beautiful!
Thank you so much! ☺
Thanks for sharing your home studio!!! Really practical!
Really useful and practical setup ideas as always. Thanks! 😊
I’m thinking I should reflect in this in my photography channel.
Thanks so much David! I find studio photography can be very overwhelming for some people, so I definitely think any extra information out there can be very helpful! 😀
This video is just amazing! Everything I needed to know thank you.
Question please: Is it necessary to have a backdrop for home studio portrait photography? or its fine to just use plain white wall and edit the background colors later on?
Thank you
Wow!!! This video is really educative. How i wish i will be receiving your updates i will be more happy. Thanks
Really enjoyed this! Great tips :)
Just a tip: invest in some sound foam
Really important in photography 👍

Thank you for this video! Very informative.
Thank you so much. This help a lot. Love you ❤️
Great video. Thanks for the information!
Very very helpful!!! Thank you so much❣
nice simple way to setup in a small space thanks for making this vid
So helpful information to know. Thanks for your explanation.
Thanks! This was so helpful. Also, loved that water spray trick to remove creases from the backdrop :D
exactly what i was looking for...so excited to watch it :) thank you so much!
So glad! Thanks so much for watching ☺️☺️
Kayleigh June as expected...brilliant and very useful! one more question how do you get the strobes to fire? and do you use a light meter?
Thanks for the great video! Just curious -- I'm looking to update my studio flashes and you said that you would eventually upgrade away from Elinchrom...what brand would you choose? Thanks a bunch! :)
Thank you. It was really helpful.
hola me gustaria saber para que usas el flash a la derecha con la olla hacia donde dispara ?
Does it matter what brand stand you use?
Very useful tips.. love the way you've used such a small space to shoot..
Thanks so much! 😀
what size backdrop stand would you recommend? would a 2mx2m be sufficient?
This was so helpful!! Thank you!!
No problem! 😊
Thank you very much, extremely helpful video and happy that you put the links in bio! When it comes to lighting is it worth it to have diversity and what lighting you tend to use the most? :)
Ok Adel cut it out! ... so when's your next album coming out? xD
I love that worship song 🎧
Loved this video. I’ve been having issues using fabric as a backdrop because I either get creases or those pull marks appear when I’ve tried to stretch and clip the fabric. What type of fabric do you use and how do you attach it to the stand so it’s a smooth canvas?? (Don’t mean the creases I know you mentioned that already!)
Oh I know this problem so well! So I definitely find thicker more canvas style fabrics work better and crease less overall. Any small creases still on camera I would just edit in post processing, but it's the unfortunate issue with fabric backdrops! 😭
Kayleigh June it’s soo annoying!!! But I’m going to give the thicker fabric a go! Thanks
Thank you triple times!!!
How many metres of fabric would you generally buy for a backdrop?
heyyy i read the description but do u know what brand the backdrop stands are and how much were they?
All this is so expensive here in Brazil 😭😭 but its beautiful thanks for sharing.
thx for Information ..👏👏
Sounds great great content!
you have a very similar basic set up to me ... I have that backdrop stand..so cheap but does the job
I set it up the winter before last so I had somewhere to shoot over winter & got some great results although I used LED lighting not strobes
Ooh I actually also have some LED lighting I have to try out! Will have to give it a go very soon 😁
i have fancy Rotolight Led lights which i use on the streets at night.. they are super good .. i use shoot through Umbrellas in the studio to modify them to give softer light.@@KayleighJune
heyyyy how much was the backdrop stand and do u have a link?
Hi Kayleigh, couple of questions: how do you get the strobes to fire? and do you use a light meter? thanks :)
Hiya! I use a trigger attached to my camera to get the strobes to fire. I also don't use a light meter, however they can be useful at times! I just tend to judge things a lot more by eye. 🙂
Kayleigh June thank you so much...we love you 😘
Thank you!
Thanks, where do you get the light?
Wow!
Love it!!!!
nice! but definitely need to improve the sound of your videos!
great content thank you
Thnk u❤
hey i love ur chanel, it will be great if u can share light setti ng detail
Hi Kayleigh....Do the Elinchrom RX 4 lights support Hi Speed Sync?
No, they don't. I own 4 of them and they're pretty good lights, however flash duration is relatively slow (about 1/800 second on lower powers) so not great for action stopping and at 400w/s they won't blow you out of the studio with their power but easily strong enough for most studio applications and have used mine for quite a bit of location work too. Very happy with mine - reliable, simple to use, lots of modifiers available for them, built-in modelling light. Sounds like I work for Elinchrom! I don't - these are just good lights!
If you have strobes or modelling lights for studio setup which one would you choose and why? Thankyou Kayleigh.
I use strobes for studio photography, however I have also used continuous/modelling lights as well! It really depends on how you like to work with light as I really think continuous light can be interesting to work with as well 🙂
I really need to invest in an octabox for myself! its the only piece of kit I still dont have
They're so good! Super versatile ☺☺
I love your content! In which college have you studied photography in Australia? :)
Hi what is the size of the room?
Wow thanks
I prefer silver umbrella
Great info. Subbed.
wao i love your channel .
Why you so pretty tho 😳❤❤
If u don’t have a camera can u use a iPhone with the photography lights
don,t think iphone flash can trigger the photography lamps
Awesome Video😎✌️
Thanks JD! 🙂
She's cuuuuute
verey Nice
Thank you thank you thank you!
But now I think my room is too small even for this setup :(
No problem, give it a try! 😀 If it's not working, maybe tweak it into an even smaller setup, maybe choose a smaller light modifier or even use some smaller reflectors ☺
I definitely will try to work with available space :) Thank you again, your channel is gold!
Great video. #Photography
Thanks Michael!
Can you do it room tour?
Large rolls are 2.75 metres
Thanks for the clarification! 😀
Love from india

You are beautiful 🖤

Most professional photographers don’t utilize natural light in a studio
Sad when a good video is ruined by horrible sound quality
my poor ass thinking wtf? i just have a camera and the sheet of my bedroom :c
Why female photographers liik like photo models?))
I love this content, but you need to work on the audio.
8:45 "Helps the skin Look very.. Jew-y?" ... As in, hey your skin looks very, Jewish today, Gee thanks!. Huh? I'm so confused XD
@carohlinac Ok thanks, that's a new one for me!
