When the Chinese talk about India, the conversation is about business, culture, person-to-person relations, technology, infrastructure building. When Indians talk about China they are fixated about the border. Every one of them is a on a one-trick pony that does nothing for what matters to ordinary Indians' prosperity and advancement. That is why India can't catch up with China.

Reading a comment posted, I came to the conclusion it was the Indians who were undoubtedly the aggressor in the 1962 war...Nothing to do with British, just pure imperialistic behavior. If you could, prove me wrong, not with "simply you are wrong" but with more convincing arguments.... The comment posted
[Nehru was a brilliant strategist.. Nehru actually invaded china in 1962 when china was begging for food, took advantage of weakened china caused by the famine of 59-62 with 30 millions deads. Moreover, China had a big fallout with the soviet and India was still in the soviet camp, with USA hoping the famine in china would topple the communist regime. USA-Soviet was also distracted with the Cuban missile crisis. In short, china was completely isolated and at its weakest point.
Not only, the Indian army was chased off, the china famed light infantry retook southern Tibet that had been earlier taken over by India.. However, the famine had a toll and they retreated from Arundel Pradesh. It was lucky break for India. Consequently, both nations lost no territory. Nehru had been successful in annexing land and nations for previous 13 years. Nehru did no more annexation and passed on 2 years later. No other Indian did any better.
If china had planned the Invasion, they wouldn't have retreated. It is ridiculous to plan an invasion at time of being completely isolated as a country while having massive famine with only thoughts of finding more food, and then having succeeded with loss of lives and precious resources, to simply give back won land. ]
Maybe food starvation had destroyed their brain or their ability to manage land retaken from India then.

    #1 Galwan is not Annexed
#2 Exactly as described - China has taken a huge swathe of No Mans Land while we were sleeping due to Intelligence failure. They had a disadvantage in 2018-2019 , now they have an advantage.
#3 While we were busy hiding details and projecting the image of super toughness and in general spending time on blusterig and blubbering - They consolidated everything and have achieved significant gains for their efforts.
This Basic Attitude of Indias and Indians - To hide mistakes, To twist mistakes into achievements, To fudge the truth - all for some EGO is the key to all our miseries
Vaccination Bungle - Same Reason, Demo - Same Reason
Rather than Admit Mistakes - we would rather keep propagating lies and putting logic below the ground.

P.S:- Now Some Sources say that the Flag was not unfurled anywhere near the conflict Zone.
Yet in China - they clearly say the flag was unfurled to commemorate the spot of the Galwan Martyrs.
So far from Day 1 - China has always been accurate while we have always been dithering and fudging data
So I firmly believe our “Sources” are again Hiding and Fudging the information.

Mr. Sibal, you did an excellent job. You asked the right questions and kept the ball rolling. Mr. Shiv Shankar Menon, Mr. Subramanian Swamy and Mr. Ashok Kantha were emotional for India, not rational. Mr. Menon mentioned that India's Mountain Core, which was raised recently, was used to counter Chinese in the Himalayas. The India-China border is 3440 km, and India's 14-core Army can not protect that mountainous border. Is the former Secretary of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Menon, naive or trying to fool people?
Mr. Swamy also boasted that India can teach Chinese lessons in Aksi Chin. Does he know what he is talking about? The Chinese will indulge in a fistfight with the Indians, and there will be a total blackout of its infrastructure, Railway system, Communications, Electricity Grid and the military communication systems of the Indian Armed Services. The Chinese will destroy all Indian infrastructure within the first six hours on the high mountainous terrain. India does not stand a chance to stay seven days in a war with China, Strategically, operationally and Tactically. I have knowingly missed out on cyber, space and electromagnetic warfare.
Have some sense, gentlemen; do not fool the Indian people; the only option for India and China is a peaceful resolution of the border dispute, which turned into a false point after the Revocation of Article 370 and unifying Ladakh, a disputed territory into India. India must reverse that to find any peace; otherwise, that one blunder would cost India two trillion dollars in lost opportunity and buy high-maintenance European and American junk, like Rafael’s.

    Just some historical fact here:
    1. In 1842, the 1st opium war was fought by China against the British invasion.
Also in the same year, Indian seized the opportunity, initialised a sudden attack and backstabbed the Chinese at Ladakh.
    2. During the great British rule of india, indian troop had helped their white masters to plunger Chinese towns & villages, committed arsons, massacre and mass rapes in China.
    3. From 1959 -1961, a great famine broke out in China causing million of deaths there.
At the same period, again, Nehru seized this opportunity and started the forward policy at sino-indo border and advanced their forward military posts beyond Indian own held positions at the border then, destroying the chinese forts and killed Chinese soldiers indiscriminately . Ultimately it lead to the total retaliation from Chinese PLA in 1962 a.k.a. SIno-Indo war.

    • @tupolevi
      @tupolevi 10 дней назад +5

The so called actual line of control by Indian:
The problem is, there was actually NO BORDER between China and India. The so-called BORDER was drawn by the Brits on the map. China never recognized it and India as nation was not even a nation when those lines were drawn unilaterally by Brits. Brits engineered the Tibetan Independence twice. The renegades signed the paper with Brits claiming those lines were legit. But Chinese central government (both during Nationalist government and during Communist government) came into Tibet and crushed the independence movement. But from Brits perspective, they got someone signed some papers and that is that. It does not matter if there is legitimacy. Brits just wanted confusion, and an excuse hang onto whatever they drawn on the map.
Then India as a nation was founded. The largest servant group, the Hindus, took over the India the Subcontinent conquered by their former White Master the Brits. And the Hindus claimed whatever the Brits claimed. So, here we are, 70 years later.

Before that there is no any border dispute among India and Tibet. So unless Tibet problem was not solved border disputes will be remain forever. So it’s up to Indian government to decide what to do.

Always always insightful to hear Amb. Menon 🙏🙏. It's interesting at 39:30, how the agreements came into being as a result of the dialogue process that followed PM Gandhi's visit in 1988. We were able to establish a relationship with China without giving much concessions to it on territory unlike the Central Asian countries & even Russia. So we did better than anyone else than China itself as is rightly put. However, an internal political dialogue that is required for a settlement on boundary is done in these countries & politics has moved further on, whereas that part of work is left for India to do.

Modi made a strategic mistake 4 years ago to instigate a border conflict with China. Modi thought that China was tied up with USA on trade war and tech war, so, China would make concession to India. Unfortunately, China gave India a bloody nose. Worst yet, Trump left office soon after, along went his promise of more FDI and friendshoring.
In the last 4 years, India kept a cordial relationship with Biden, through QUAD and Indo-Pacific meetings. But there was little FDI and friendshoring, except for some hot money flooding the Indian stock market. There is no long-term investment in infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystem. The election result, with Modi losing the majority vote, shows this situation, where it seems India GDP is growing, yet there is little real jobs created for common folks.
As result, Modi has to make a change. And that change is having a more friendly relationship with China, in hope for some Chinese investment in infrastructure and manufacturing ecosystem. Thus, the disengagement in border conflict, as the first step toward a thawed relationship.
Here comes the curve ball. Trump WON the US election. What now? Is there any change in India China relationship? We will see.

@@biggpicture2930 "Trust" is such a loaded word. What is trust? That someone will "give you something out of good will?" And when you did not get that something, you won't "trust" them? For example, Nehru made that "Look North" campaign to inch into South Tibet. Did he "trust" the Chinese that they will just sit still and watch? Likewise, when Modi made a move, did he "trust" that Chinese, who were busy with Trump's trade war and tech war, just let him get away with it?
Trust? What is it? I don't understand Indians keep using this word. Have you ever heard Chinese use the word? Every action has a reaction. You just need to handle the reaction. If you don't have the CAPABILITY to handle the reaction, then you are not at the position of power to make that action. That is the main reason why India's aspiration does not match with their capability. They have huge aspiration, and they take action on those aspiration, yet they don't have the capability to sustain those aspiration and action. Thus, they tend to resort to the "trust" word to gloss over that situation. "Chinese gave us a bloody nose. We cannot trust them!" Sounds good? Sound like you are in the right? But have you ever wondered why you got a bloody nose to begin with?

    1. China has an advantage on us, economically they have strengths build over last 25 years, so they will control to their advantages and Militarily they have upper hand as they captured our land, and are on our side of LAC. So then politically they won't back down.
    2. Firstly, to normalise relations with China, condition should be to go to pre April 2020 level.
    3. In long term, To counter China, we need to build our Economic Strength, military strength, which takes next 25 years and we can't do it without China, so we need to normalise relations economically.
    3. To do this, we need to resist them in borders, get help from West, form groupings, etc.

If China looms large now or occupied Indian territory, then in all probability it happened on their watch. However, to mobilise 60,000 troops to oppose pChina's earlier effort and risk a major war is not a characterisation of a meek India nor an India throwing her hands up in surrender, despite the China monster. In that context , China has a lot to loose to keep the rapprochement with India at bay even with a position of strength. Geopolitics is volatile, nobody has the last words today.
