I had a friend in Poland many many years ago and she was writing a book about Ramana Maharishi, she was completely devoted to His teaching and visited His ashram many times in India, however I left Poland and Maria; that was her name passed away. I never find out if she finished that script but I do remember she/ her face almost look like Ramana, and every time i see or hear His teaching Im thinking of her...after she passed away I did had a dream and she came to let me know about her transition. I would never come across Maharishi without Maria from Nowolipiki street in Warsaw, namaste.
I dont quite "get it" yet. But i have the overwhelming sense that what im listening to is the answer ive been seeking. My greatest challenge now is to embrace these teachings without clinging to them because the "answer" is that there is no question. My oh my what a beautiful paradox.
Lovely. Just keep listening and contemplating and the meaning will seep in and all your questions will be answered in the silence. :)

The “I” is not supposed to get it the I supposed to dissolve in the enquiry hence self will be remaining.

The first time I experienced the voice in my head as separate from my “self”was unforgettable. As soon as I heard it, the voice stopped… it was a brief moment of clarity and I haven’t experienced it since but it was only after listening to and reading ramana Maharishi did it happen. Ironically it occurred once I had become exhausted from trying. From my modern western conditioning it’s very hard “realizing” the only way to go to the place is by doing nothing to get there

It took me some time to understand what “nothingness” means. I had to meet with my teacher on several occasions to even comprehend the idea. I had Been on a spiritual journey for 20 years. There is no journey. You’re it. You’re Just playing the game in this dream like state.

The problem starts after being born. We are taught to see the world, rather than ourselves and what we truly are and where we came from. This concept is if you believe in the physical world.
If you believe that the waking stage or the physical world is nothing but a dream, then you are just immersing your true self in this dream media with thoughts. Your true self lies in a time-space-dimension less state and waits for the physical body to realize what it is or wake up to the true consciousness to whom the waking, dreaming and deep sleep stages are happening.

Observe the thoughts, if the mind overwhelms you then accept what ever the mind is doing at that moment, beacuse the mind cannot accept what is not pleasant, when you accept you are self, only self accepts whaever comes.

i know you will make more ramanamaharshi videos - hope you do with some similar powerful music (best musics were in this and the avadhuta gita one of the videos, and one of the adishankara i think part 3 it comes in) or just reuse these soundtracks we dont mind. but adds to the effect of the words. for me personally it does.

Hi, Venerable. There is a line " thoughts must be Destroyed as soon as they arise, through enquiry" but in Insight/Vipassana practice that I follow, we are told to Just notice/ recognise/Allow all thoughts; with the wisdom of Aniccha, Impermanence, where we don't react, resist or fight our thoughts or no wanting to get rid of them ( no aversion) but remain a Silent witness as they arise and pass away. I find a contradiction. Please could you kindly clarify 🙏
There's really only an apparent contradiction here Sangeeta, and a slightly different view or approach. If one brings mindfulness, wisdom, and awareness to the arising thoughts and understands their non-self nature, their transitory nature, and the delusory element of them in creating a 'self', then they will automatically dissolve and disappear. This is essentially what Ramana Maharshi is encouraging us to do through the self-enquiry process. To 'wake up' when we are lost and drowning in thoughts, especially the reactive and desirous ones; to understand the mind and the way it perpetuates the ego-self, and to use wisdom to cut through the proliferation of thoughts. He is just using a different paradigm to explain the process, but essentially it is still the same. We use alert attention and the wisdom of self-enquiry in the Ramana Maharshi approach to challenge the delusory nature of thinking, but it takes us to the same place of silence, stillness, and peace, and an eventual emptying out of the false self. Hope that helps to clarify.

All the similarities between the teachings of Jesus and Sri Ramana are overwhelming. The church could have emphasized on the teaching instead of on the person.
not sure about that. One thing that ramana did quote from the Bible as most fitting is the line - "I am that I am" - because there is no name for God/self really.
