I envy you guys in the US. Almost every forum and video I watch is about the 335i, or at least 328i. I got a 316i lmao. The most common E90 in Norway is probably a 320d wagon (we have 90% wagons and SUVs here). But you know what, it's still a blast to drive - especially since I have the m-sport underbody
Man I’m gonna be honest I didn’t know they made a 316i haha! That’s cool, thanks for the insight. BMW manages to make a fun car at all power levels in my opinion. The Wagon variant is something we don’t get often in the US that I would love to own
@@beaterbeemer Absolutely. And I know you guys in the US go crazy over wagons, and I always just think man, you should just come here. Saloons are pretty rare over here, compared to wagons
@@joejordan5 I got these several years ago from a company called Omega. But I’ll be the first to say I got ripped off because they are the same tips you can find on Amazon/ebay I’m pretty sure. Only I paid $300 😂
So I pushed the silver clip and only the part with the clip came off. The other piece it disconnected from stays connected to the car. I didn’t want to do anything else but I guess I did it wrong lol
It sounds like you did it right actually. Sorry I didn’t film the actual disconnection. So you pushed the clip in and were able to unplug it? It’s hard to explain. The silver clip is exactly where the disconnect should be happening. The clip doesn’t come out or anything. Nothing else gets unplugged. Only where the silver clip is. @@beaterbeemer you are right. I had to drive it to hear the difference. It’s a subtle yet noticeable change of sound. I dig it. Thanks man. How’s your Beem doing?
See, I thought so. But I recently learned that the 440i (and probably all F gen’s) have an electronically actuated exhaust flap. Unlike the e90 which uses the vacuum line. So I’m pretty sure this method does not work
Hey man, I have a similarly slow crank just like yours in this video. Did you ever find a fix for this? Was it always just slow but turned over? I have no codes or anything like that but the crank always stresses me out. Thank you!
Hey Scott sorry for the late response. Yea my car has always had that slow crank! And unfortunately I never found the root cause. The starter went bad at one point and replacing that seemed to help. But it returned to its slowish start. Eventually I threw a rod bearing (unrelated) and now she sits. PS. Don’t change your oil viscosity from 5w30 to 0w30 because bmw says so, lol.
Ahh, bummer! Couldn’t find the solenoid? Plan B could be unplugging the little vacuum line that plugs directly into the tailpipe as seen in the beginning of the video, and sticking a golf tee or anything to plug the line. Otherwise you’ll get a code
Does’nt it have any influence on the power/pressure of the turbo. I drive a 125i m sport, Stage 1 tuned. I want to try it! Sorry for my bad english, i am from the Netherlands Europe 😏
Good question, not 100% sure. The “is” has msport exhaust? If so is it valved on the left like mine? If yes, I bet it’s the same functionality. I’d go check your trunk for that solenoid but not all models have that convenient little flap in the trunk like mine.
I’m not a mechanic, but in my experience driving like that for 2 years, didn’t cause a single issue. No ghost codes or anything. I’ve heard the same from multiple people

I’m not sure, sorry! I don’t see those where I live in the US. Although any BMW, if it has an exhaust flap, it can be deactivated. Just did it on my 440i as well. Usually cars with true dual exhaust (one on the left one on the right) have it, but cars with 2 tips on the left do not
I couldn’t tell you if it’s exactly the same but most BMW’s have exhaust valves and if it does, it can be deactivated. Just need to figure out how your car works. My 440i has a plug underneath the car attached to the muffler and I just unplugged it
@fisherboling7624 no lights on the dash. But I did just find out it throws a ghost code that will appear if you read your codes. It seems harmless and you would never know unless you read codes

Hey thanks for commenting! I think you are right. However, in my experience it only becomes a noticeable difference in torque delivery if you are fully straight piping your car. Simply opening the flap when you still have a downpipe, resonator and muffler, I think you will be more happy than anything. And if not just plug it back in 🤷🏻♂️ no harm no foul. I don’t think it made my car slower. Just sound better Ps your English is perfect except for the first word 👍🏻 (doesn’t)

Wont it cause check engine light?
What year is this I have a 2013 335 and it's so quiet
This is a 2011, if you have an e9x with the N55 motor this should work

Someone knows how to open valves for Bmw 430! ? I need help with that

Thanks for the video, I am running my 2013 F02 740LI and going to try to disconnect the solenoid from the rear ramp side. Wish me luck!
Good luck buddy! I don’t expect you to have any issues at all. Even if a 740LI is slightly different from my 335. Glad to inspire confidence 💪🏻
I hope it works on my g20 330i. I am gonna try it today.
Any luck?
Worked a treat 😅

That is actually a feature of the JB4 tuner. Makes the gauges sweep like a vette when installed
