the thumb buttons... by default, are they just forward and back (ie back and forward on web pages and in file explorer etc.)?

by default they're just inputted as extra mouse buttons but you could change their functions to that in synapse

V3(wire) has a free scroll, but in this mouse in video V3 hyperspeed wireless has not this feature

Does the saved profiles still work when you use the mouse on your work laptop without the razer software?

I have the mouse. It states that you need the razer software running in order to switch profiles. Only one profile stays onto the onboard memory i think.

I got this mouse. The absolute one thing I hate about it is that the light flashes green, when moved, WHILE MY PC IS OFF. yes, I've checked the option to turn off lighting when display is off. I'll change the USB port tomorrow. If that doesn't work, I may return it. My cats get on my desk when I sleep and the bright green flashing light is annoying. I also decreased the brightness, turned the lighting off completely, and changed color to black. Nothing worked.

can't you just turn the mouse off when the pc is off as well

Then you can activate the sleep mode and syncronize it with the PC

Yea I just turn the mouse switch off, it flashes because it's looking for a signal still I think
