This is an older video but I finally wanted to comment, I really love your videos! People have been trying to teach me to crochet for years and I just never got it but watching your videos have finally made me get it ♡♡ also I like that you repeat things that are probably super tedious and obvious to crochet gurus like 'yarn over, pull through 2, yarn over pull through 2' because even when I'm not watching the video I can hear your voice like a gentle reminder when I'm doing the stitches and I really love that it makes the patterns easy to remember
Wow....just gorgeous! I always loved the idea of hexagon grannies, but I don't like uneven edges on my blankets, just a personal thing, but then you beautifully straightened the outer borders and this will be an upcoming project for me! Thank you!

If you chose to start with a [chain-6, slip stitch to first chain to form a ring], crochet over the tail. This will allow you to pull on the tail and cinch the center closed after completing the first round. 😸😺
Love your videos and I also love that you hold the crochet needle & yarn like I do, before I found your videos I thought I was holding it incorrectly, but I just can't hold the yarn like others do. Nice to know I am not alone in the way I crochet :)

Yes, like you've described - in the direction your stitches go in so just follow it around a couple of times - you can reverse the direction if you want to for a 3rd pass, all depends on how much tail you have really :)

Oooh now that's a question I genuinely cannot answer! I used part balls of left overs so couldn't say how much I actually used as I haven't got a clue! 🙈 I've seen some people use caron simply soft rainbow variegated yarn for this blanket if that's easier for you to get hold of? X
I've linked to the border in my written pattern as the border section wasn't my pattern but someone else's- it's essentially block stitch though so quite easy to follow :)
