This is a beginner-friendly tutorial but you will already need to know the basic crochet stitches and how to work in the round. My video tutorials always use US terminology but all of my written patterns are available in UK terminology.
This tutorial is designed to be used ALONGSIDE the written pattern available below, which is why there is no information about colours or the border. If you want the full pattern you can get it here:

IMPORTANT NOTE: In this tutorial at the end of Round 5 (approx 16:30) I made an error and worked 2dc into the last corner instead of 1. Each corner should have 1dc only before the chain space.

Love this thank you 😊
Thanks for sharing this is a nice stich
❤
This looks great. I’ve just started crochet and found your channel. My granddaughter calls me Meema (she couldn’t say grandma properly and Meema stuck) so I was obviously meant to find you! 😊
So cute! I’ve heard a few people say they are called this by their grandchildren. Mine is because my younger brother mispronounced my name when he was little and it’s stuck as a nickname!
Stunning ❤
Thank you! 😊
I was a bit confused on second row but kept try ing and I finally did it❤
How Easy and beautiful pattern you make Em, thank you❤
Thankyou and glad you like it 🥰
I just subscribed to your channel. I love the hexagon. Thank you ❤❤
I found you tonight and I have learned a lot from you. Thank you so much for sharing.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Yay I’m so happy you like my content and welcome to my colourful corner of the internet 🥰
Great demo thanks
❤😂
Thankyou for doing a tutorial as I do find them easier for following a pattern xx
You’re welcome. I have learned my lesson that all CAL patterns will also have videos in future! I don’t want to exclude anyone 🥰
@@meemamakes could you add UK stitch terms along side the US ones?
Beautiful pattern 😊
Thank you! 😊
I love the way you teach. Thank you so much can’t wait to start my project with hexagons
So happy you liked the tutorial and hope you have lots of hexie fun!
Very pretty pattern. ❤
Thank you! 😊
I've just finished my hexagon daisy blanket. Really enjoyed doing it. Definitely do this one again.
Congrats on finishing! I’m glad you enjoyed it and plan on making more. Your comment has made my day, Thankyou 🥰
I love this ❤❤❤❤Thanknyoubso much for a clear tutorial 😊😊😊😊
Just discovered your channel and I’ve already purchased this pattern. Your videos are so clear and easy to follow and I love how neat you make the joins , I’ve always been unhappy with mine when joined the way most people advise , so thank you for that.
Awesome! Thank you so much for purchasing. I hope all goes well with your blanket and happy to help if you need it 😊
Ive just found your channel! Brilliant and i love this blanket. Thank you!
Welcome to the channel and Thankyou 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing ❤️ 💕
Merci 😊
I have ordered the yarn and I am very excited to start! :)
Hope you enjoy it!
Excellent tutorial thank you . Looking forward to the half hexi one . I had a fight with that little minx lol .
Hopefully the half hex tutorial will help. It is a little tricky!
beautiful explanation i normally don't comment but i just want to thank you i could follow really easily along even though i am a beginner, i will comment again when i am done crocheting :D
Amazing, I’m so happy this helped. I have worked hard to make my tutorials as accessible as possible so it’s great to hear this feedback. Thankyou for commenting 😊
I finished the hexagon and i could really follow along and it does look really great except for the one corner i must have misunderstood sth regarding where to put the dc in 😅
Çok güzel olmuş, elinize sağlık olsun.🌹🥰🌹🥰🌹🥰🙋
I love how you twist your tail around your working yarn when adding a new color.❤❤❤
Yes! Thank you! I think maybe I'll do a little tutorial on it because I do it without thinking so never think to explain how
This is very beautiful
❤
Thankyou 🥰
1:05 ooh, that’s a handy tip for the magic ring
Glad it helped :) I do love a double magic ring
I just love to crochet along with you
Lovely pattern 💜 The double magic ring is so secure!! I learned it from another channel and wondered why everyone else didn't teach it 😅 So thank you!
When I learned I felt the same! I always thought it was me - I wasn’t doing the magic ring properly. But nope, it just likes to open itself back up. I never use a normal MR anymore
@@meemamakes a revelation!
I just found your channel and I love how you explain things as well as the close up view of exactly what you are doing. I watched one other video and really love your content. Of course I had to subscribe ! 😁 I have a question and didn't see it addressed in the description .. could you please share which yarn you are using in this video ? thank you so much for your efforts in creating such high quality videos.. Have a great day..
I’m so glad you enjoy my content and that you like my tutorials 😊 I have a lot more planned. The yarn I am using is Stylecraft Special DK in Gold, and James C Brett Double Knitting with Merino in DM3 and DM42
@@meemamakes thank you so much !
Thank you for great tutorial. I'm making this for my Mother who loves daisies. I purchased pattern but was wondering if you had a tutorial for a border for this? I know there are instructions in pattern for border but wondered if there was a tutorial. I've never made a border working on the back.
Love this pattern. How many hexagons would make a double bed blanket?
Depends on your tension and yarn weight. Off the top of my head, each hexagon in the pattern was 16 or 17cm I believe
I could not find what size hook you used. A 4 on dk made me struggle with the first two rows so I went to a 3.5 but that would make the sizes quite a bit smaller. It's a beautiful pattern. Thank you so much.xx
It doesn’t matter much unless you are following the yarn requirements in the pattern and for hook size you are better to use the hook that gives the correct gauge, which may or may not be 4mm. So use whatever hook makes your hexagons 6.5inches across (from side to side not corner to corner). Hope this helps ❤️
Hi :) Will you upload the pattern for the blanket as well or should i purchase the pattern? Thank you in advance
The tutorials currently up are this one and one for sewing them together. There will be another tutorial for the half hexagon. If you need more guidance/colours/layout/border pattern then I’d suggest buying the pattern. These tutorials are intended to support the pattern not replace it, but it’s up to you 😊
I understand thank you really a lot for your reply ❤
In Rnd #5; why did you work 2dc, then the ch1 and sc to top of of beg ch-3 of rnd, at last corner? My question is mainly about, why the 2 dc in that last corner? I enlarged your work to check out the remaining ends of 6-8 & find that you only done 1 dc, ch 1, or the 1 dc, ch 2 in rnd 8. Would you mind clarifying this for me / us, please? Thank you so much. I certainly appreciate it.
Oh yes you are very correct, that is a mistake on my part! It should just be 1dc! It is correct in the written pattern and I’ll add a note to the description of this video explaining that this is an error and to ignore. Thankyou so much for pointing this out ❤️
Ty for replying back. I just get my pattern (s) from watching crochet videos & writing them down as I watch, then go back & make the item from my notes. You do nice work! Ty again. Have a wonderful day! 😁
@@bethallen1985 that sounds like such a hassle when you could just use written patterns! Have you heard of Ravelry?
❤❤ ❤❤ ❤❤
Please make Bavarian crochet stitch
What should we follow to do the border?
I am sorry but there is no video for the border. The written pattern includes step by step, beginner friendly instructions and photos for the border. If you don’t want to get the pattern then this short shows the old version of the last round of the border, I did make some changes in the final blanket though ruclips.net/user/shortsLGtavNioESw?si=VcXx0-7SFROPgX4j
Which hook size are working with n which yarn is it?
It’s DK weight yarn and 4mm hook. You can find details linked in the description.
Hi there..I am watching from South Afica...I did my runner but would like to put a border on. Can you help me ..Joyce Lee
There is no full video tutorial for the border as it is provided as a photo tutorial in the written pattern. However I do have the final round as a short tutorial that should help you ruclips.net/user/shortsLGtavNioESw?si=vxv1MmBRhl5Ke6bi
Tell what type of yarn are you using there so pretty mostly what i have is 4 ply acrylic grrrrr
DK acrylic. Full yarn details can be found in the pattern or here: www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/hexadaisy-blanket
Hey ❤️ I got stuck at round #5. How many stitches in total are there on one side? Or how many stitches should there be at the end of round #5?
There should be 9 stitches per side at the end of round 5. Each round you increase each side of the hexagon by 2 stitches
Does the pattern that you sell for this include the Border?
Yes, it is a full photo tutorial and detailed instructions for the entire blanket including border 😊
Don’t forget to use the coupon code DAISYDAISY for 20% off for the duration of the crochet along
What I’m not understanding is, once you make the invisible join you only have two top loops in that corner and my count comes to 95 not 96 sc stitches. Am I missing something since there should be 96?
Yes there should be 3sc in that corner. The chain that we turn into a sc, the first sc of the round and the last sc of the round. Are you missing one of those two st?
What size hook are you using please? Xx
4mm with DK weight yarn
@@meemamakes thank you xx
I love this so much. I just feel so dumb because I just don’t understand how magic rings work 😢
Don’t worry, a magic ring is not required - you can start using any method you like. I have a video showing 3 ways of starting in the round which you might find helpful ruclips.net/video/AcpBye1JZy4/видео.htmlsi=iDYDNZvR7dLmZG6J
Could you please add the UK stitch terms? You're using US terms, i don't know them.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I have considered this as my tutorials are always US terms but I can read/write/teach crochet in UK terms. However when I surveyed my audience they overwhelmingly voted for me not to put UK terms up on screen as it’s confusing. The written pattern (that this tutorial is designed to be used alongside) is available in UK terms and contains full photo tutorials. If you are not willing to buy the pattern then these are the conversion of terms
US vs UK
Single crochet = double crochet
Double crochet = treble crochet
Treble cluster = double treble cluster
I hope this helps!
