I appreciate the "decriminalizing poverty" point. I'm bummed that you feel the need to attach a particular skin color to it. But in general that's a good point. On the need to train police in all of these ways---which I support---What happens when the officer follows their training to the T -- and the person just resists arrest,, ignores calls to stop, and acts in a threatening manner---and then reaches for what may be a weapon and is shot (as a lost resort). Do we still blame the police for that ---even when the officer did everything they could? That's what seems to have happened in many (not all, but many) of these cases. We need to be careful that we don't over react--and create our own form of bias against the police.

Appreciate the effort to speak to issues of justice and a more equitable criminal system. I’m not sure if this actually was that though... what exactly does “decriminalize blackness” mean? The naked understanding would be that people who are black are considered criminals. Is that true? Was Barack Obama considered a criminal? Collin Powell? Supreme Court Justice Marshall or Thomas? The underpinnings of this video, in its terms and prejudices, will do more to hurt the cause of true justice and forming a more equitable system since it is not coming from a position of true reality but of subjective or perceived reality to some. We need mature people using precise terms who are not seeking to manipulate others but advance Kingdom ethics into this conversation.
