Music Teacher Reacts: TINA S - For The Love Of God
More Tina S is continuing on the channel! It's really cool getting to know as much of her work as I can and her fans are very passionate. This is an exciting time to be a guitarist and an instructor!
Sending love,
-DJ

I kind of had tears in my f*g eyes, she played like her life depends on it, What the hell that was beautiful ❤
she is one of the best guitarist ever !!!!!
Absolutely, I really hope we get to follow her as she continues her music journey and we aren't just left with what we have on RUclips right now
Every reviewer and every commenter on every channel says this is the best and it doesn't get any better. What makes her special is she does everyone, she does it as good or better, and nobody else can. She has a range of styles and techniques which is unequalled. She is a Guitar Goddess. The best the world. No doubt about it. There should be a monument to her somewhere.
There is no one like Tina S 🔥🔥🔥
Tina learned on an acoustic at a very early age and wasn't introduced to an electric guitar until she was 12 or 13 years old. She was 15 or 16 years old here. AMAZING!!!!!
She is phenomenal, what a talent.
She is incredible, and she’s back! New video releases on her channel today 🎸🤘🏼
My favorite Tina S video.
The way she adjusts the tilt and angle of that pick in an instant while she's playing is very impressive. Wow.
You just saw the best version of this song, period.
In my head, this is the original now
Fact!
Don't kid yourself
@@HBC423 even Steve Vai tweeted out that this was the best cover he's heard of his song.
AMAZING
She’s disappeared from public view a few years back. She’s absolutely astounding to watch. There are people that have played for 20-30 years that can’t play at her level. A true prodigy and absolutely flawless technique. I hope to see her come back into the public eye. She was only 15-16 yrs old here. She’s in her early 20’s now. I can’t imagine the level of mastery she has today.
Her control of everything possible on a guitar is just mind blowing.
The little touches of the whammy throughout are so subtle but add so much.
Best guitar piece I've ever heard.
I prefer this one over Vai's original. More aggressive notes, and a bluesy undertone. Tina makes the guitar sing in a way I very much like.
I like Tina S version the best
Very subtle whammy control from 6:38 to 43 is crazy good.
AMAZING
Control.....whammy.......OMG
I've heard that she got ridiculous amounts of hate and abuse online and I can only assume that those people that abused her are insecure, self important or jealous. She's bloody brilliant 👏. I'm not a guitarist and I don't even read music, but my ears work fine and she's a goddess with a guitar. Anyone who says otherwise is pathetically idiotic 🙄
If that's true about the hate, that's just shameful... This young lady has a gift..
Our loss brother. Hope she kicks ass somewhere in a studio or stage or just being free of hate and thrive as a musician. Lucky ones are her true friends. Peace Out!
You're wrong.
I'm not a fan of this sort of music, but I do play guitar. She's a very talented player - great control, technique; things are tight and clean when they're supposed to be; a bit looser and dirty when that's the right move. I can't imagine any reason to hate this other than those you suggested yourself. She's a force, definitely.
I also love how genuinely appreciative this dude is, too. It's healthy to get a thrill from watching someone do something well. Cool vid.
yes she got a load of hate that's why she stopped playing and doing any more vidoe's
Tina’s presentations in all her music is masterful. Watching her play, up close and personal, creates a greater feeling of euphoria. Her hands are hypnotic. She is like a ballerina dancing on strings telling us a story. She is mellifluous ❤
She is a Guitar God!!!!!
What I liked most are musicality and articulation. She really makes music. I'd like to hear her render this piece more polyphonically. She is just right person for the job.
As a violinist I would have different approach as the instruments differ. Thumbs up for the performance!
THE BEST!
This, her cover of Attitudes, and her Gary Moore tribute, are my favorites of all her performances. Such spectacular talent
You had me at Tina S.
This is unquestionably my favorite cover by her. Let's watch!!
Great reaction DJ.
✌😎👍
ABSOLUTELY BLESSED BY THE LOVE OF GOD!!!
Altitudes! Her Jason Becker cover is the best. you wont regret, fast, sweet and sweep picking from here to the moon and back!
Thanks DJ. I've been waiting on this one. I have to admit I don't like Vai's original, but his creation combined with Tina's subtle changes have made her version one of my favorites. You didn't mention it but to me in this cover not only do you still see Tina's technical side, but you also can feel the emotion emitting through the guitar. the 'feel' so many artists look for but have a hard time expressing. this cover has me in tears every time. Altitudes would be my next recommendation.
As far as I know she communicated with SV and there is also a YT video where the two played together. In any case, for Seve, Tina was not a blank slate.
I believe Steve Vai sent her a message after seeing her play this. He loved it! Thanks for breaking her play down for us non-technical people.
A bit surprised you hadn't already gotten around to this one yet. I'm always happy to watch a Tina S reaction from a musician.
Knew you'd love it. My second favorite next to For the Love of God has to be The Loner by Gary Moore. In that one you get to see a more laid back soulful Tina along with her impeccable ear for intonation. I've managed to throw together a bit of a timeline:
Tina switches from classical to electric - age 13
Eruption, Vivaldi, The Loner - age 14
For the Love of God, Through the Fire and Flames - age 15 or 16
Moonlight Sonata - age 17
At certain moments when she played more soaring melodies, she reminds me of David Gilmour a bit. Gonna check out her cover of "Comfortably Numb" to test my theory.
The killer thing is, it doesn't matter how fast she plays, she is still note-for-note clean, clear and spot on. She is amazing!!
She never gets credit on the efficiency of her right hand. Her picking is out of this world.
Tina is amazing guitarist.
When a classically trained guitarist picks up an eguitar.
I always laugh when music teachers give their comments.....but my question is.....can they all play like Tina,??????
What about gymnastics judges at the olympics, swimming and athletic coaches and so on. A teacker, coach or judge does not have to be better than the performer.
This is actually the first time I've seen her really hanging over the guitar like that
Flawless.
She killed it on that song!
One of my favourite things Is to watch people s heads melt when they first hear this I LOOOOVE IT 🔥💜💜🔥
when Tina S sits
she stands tall
Jason Becker's Altitudes and Gary Moore's The Loner are my two favourites... but this comes pretty close, too!
you again! :)
@@aukebakker887 - If at first you don't succeed... 😉🤣
such a shame there are only 3 Altitudes reactions yet, but lets join forces and harrass the shit out of these youtubers! :)
@@aukebakker887 - Yes, I agree. I find it really confusing. I can understand The Loner being ignored - people seem obsessed with speed rather than emotion - but Altitudes has it all. Most strange. 🤷🏼♂️
@@aukebakker887 - BTW, I think there are about 5 reactions to Altitudes, but some aren't particularly enjoyable. The best is by 'Dutchreacts', in my opinion.
Better than original
It looks like an Octopuss is playing with 8 fingers on each hand. WOW!!!
Thank you! Yours react is the greatest. Please check all TinaS videos
One of my favorites that you definitely need to check out.. that she does..and is super hard is Arpeggios from Hell by Yngwie Malmsteen
Her use of the tremolo were second to none.
She is Gifted by the hand of God!
Dj!!!! My dawg, bro, I said it in person last class, but I'm gnna say it again. Your presence on screen is perfect. Coupled by sick editing and semi-bad jokes (jk, lol), these videos r great. Keep em coming. They're awesome
Thanks dude! November 21. That’s the date of the photo thing this year.
It's great to hear a professional in-depth analysis of those different playing techniques. It seem to me that there are quite many things happening all the time...
Was the only time I really saw getting down to a song from what I've seen so far. She liked the one for sure!
3:12 and onward: Very valuable and practical comments btw! Great work demystifying the bendings and whammy stuff... it just sounds great overall anyways!! Peace out!
Yes D J she has a pedal board. It has I believe 6 or 7 different controls. By the way she and Amira are my two favorite YT performers, The guitar is made by Patrice Vigier, Her models are the Excaliber. I'm guessing he may also be involved in making her videos as she is GOOD advertisement for his product.
of course it does when you have such talended player playing your guirtars
I think it's been like 20 years or so since I've had a land line phone in my house and yet there was one section where the music sounded precisely like an old panasonic phone that we used to have and my brain immediately went to "oh shit, the phone's ringing". Just an interesting thought I wanted to share lol.
She does it better than Vai by putting her own touches in it. 🔥🔥🔥
There's a photo on one of her pages of either this song or Altitudes where it shows her with a full pedal board in front of her.
Man, you have got to be my favorite react video person to watch
Thank you so much!
@@TempleMusicAcademy how about this ruclips.net/video/mYKLvYGqaC0/видео.html
Vai said he thought this was a better version than his.
I never tire of watching this.
wow she has skills
She used a pedal for that tone change. Are you catching the pinch harmonics she's playing with her left hand? Can you imagine trying this without a Floyd Rose and a locking nut? For her ultimate playing (maybe you've already heard it?), try her version of the third movement of Moonlight sonata. At one point she does some stunning sweep picking at unbelievable speed.
Dude Tina eats guitars for breakfast. She,s STUNNING.
The effect you wonder about in the first section of the video it's just a technic called "Artificial Harmonics", just her thumb leaning against the string make that noise a bit like natural harmonics (but with enough gain)
There is a video of Steve Vai where he gives some pointers on how to play this piece. Watch Tina S again after that video, and you'll realise that her rendition of this song is _very_ good.
Please do her cover of Gary Moore “ The loner” !! It’s so beautiful!
absolutly my favorite
Wahnsinn ❤🎉
While my guitar gentle weeps
You really need to check out The Main Squeeze's cover of "Have a Cigar" by Pink Floyd
4:57 noticed the one little tap??
Shes a pro guitarist in school in Paris
Tina says, check out them apples, Ginger Ninja!
My humble opinion between all these experts , is just that Mr. Steve VaI is more show orientated ......
Tina S. however plays the "THING ITSELF "
I don't might have much abilitys ......but one "gift" I have ...."TAST" .....and Judgment !
She is phenomenal ..... one of a kind
The Steve Vai album is "Sex & Religion" I think Devin was something like 19 years old at the time. He almost immediately began planning his own stuff. Although to be fair, he had a record deal before Vai came along. So maybe he went back to his own stuff? Impressive skills by Ms Tina S for sure.
she is amazing please react to her cover of gary moores the loner its my favorite of hers and the green guitar is beautiful do you know of other players who uses these guitars their amazing
She was only 16 when she did this. Steve Vai says she did it better than he did 😊
now you need to try Unlucky Morpheus"s version with Jill on violin
Who is better?
7:04 The Pussycat! Brad Gillis (Night Ranger) uses this a lot! Peace out!!
Oh and another thing....one teacher says she doesn't use a pedal , only bending and tremolo barre .The other say she does. 🤔🤔
Is there footage of you playing this please?
I prefer this one above the original
AND she was only 15 at the time if I remember correctly !!!
Can she use hrr control on some other things?
She stepped on a wah wah. Watch her right knee
I think your name is DJ I can’t wait for you to do her trooper by iron maiden and Metallica master of puppets
I have seen Steve Vai’s original and I’m still say, 16 yo Tina S does Steve better than Steve 😄
Can I have the background track at the begins please
Most awesome thing I like about Tina besides the skill? These are old videos and they are one shots, no cutaways for the most part. Make a mistake and start over from the beginning.
can you react to tori kelly singing ”dear no one” live on mtv. thank uu
From prodigy to virtuoso
Hey I actually think Tina S Version is better I mean she’s sitting down but the way she is so clean and quick at the same time she’s definitely a pro she’s been doing it most of her life and she does it so well she also has a better background music rather than and a half asked Orchestra I definitely like her version better the background music is perfect for it and you can watch her and really focus on her finger work And it’s so awesome
I heard she has or band or is in one I'm not sure if it's true but I hope it is she has the potential to be the greatest ever
A
Al you guys go home and exercise 24/7!!
I think you’d like trooper by iron maiden and master of puppets by Metallica she does to
Why doesn't she put any new content out anymore.
Please don’t forget you’re reviewing the guitar cover of a 16 year old child 😉
And fuck man I’ve been in pain for three days I played too much Tennis Tennis and I went to the gym and I’ve strained my car it is so hard having your muscle strain from your hips to your lungs in the back he can’t move I’m on my third day
Oh yeah nothing against orchestras but I don’t like to be told doing anything or instructed obviously to a degree sometimes you have to but I like going with my own feel and be able to play free more than anything
Hey, I have a recommendation. Madison Beer performing ''Selfish'' and ''Sour times'' on MTV Push. He has improved so much since she started singing. I would like to hear your professional opinion. Thanks :D
She is alien…
Re incarnation of Randy Roads
If ever you want to react to Morissette again, she released a.mini-album last month with 5 all original songs that she co-wrote and co-produced. There are vids and live performances now available on her channel. My fave is Mirror so hopefully you can start reacting to her again. Thanks. Here's a link to a Mirror live performance - ruclips.net/video/Xdv97pVBS_4/видео.html
Thanks for telling me! Please keep on me about this as I would love to get back to her videos :)
