Yeah that will never happen. Texas isn’t meant to be a state to retire in. If you’d like to see a huge reduction in property tax it will have to be made up from somewhere else or risk becoming a welfare state as other red states.
Just curious. Is your problem with the religious groups or with the 1sr Amendment? So funny how the same people who cry "separation of church and state" because they don't hold the same values as the church, but then demand that the church be included in the "state" by paying taxes, in violation of the first amendment. Aren't you liberals and leftists ever embarrassed by all your contradictions?
1av X 5ptr = 5 3 X 5ptr = 15 (av = appraised value, ptr=property tax rate) If AV goes up, your taxes go up. No law can stop that. My house has tripled in value in the last 20 years and my wages have only gone up 20 percent. Hmmmmm. Doesn't matter if the tax rate stays the same.
I built a modest two bedroom house in 1986 for 36k and now Harris county has it valued at 112k. My total property taxes at one time around 500 dollars a year, but since more Julio's have moved in the school district started building more schools. The majority of these people rent and don't pay property taxes. I recently turned 65 so now I'm only paying around a hundred dollars a year instead of 1500.
Won't help me much. My house is now overvalued by half by the damned appraisal district THIS YEAR. My 2004 1600 sq. ft. ticky-tack will NEVER be worth a quarter million dollars! How about ordering appraisal districts to half their appraisals and THEN increase the deduction?
This does nothing! Laughable! Meanwhile I pay 5k on 2.5 million in another state. This will never happen in TX. Most people will save about 800-1100 bucks a year which is nothing!!
If the appraised value keep on going up, taxes cuts won 't help. Nobody know the whole story. Remember, taxes is free money. They will find way to get its from you more and more. So, after 3 years, what happens?
Stop taxing people on their property after they mortgage is cleared or their purchase is paid in full😢 to stop homelessness ...

They tax land owners to pay for services that corporations use to make money and then avoid taxes completely.
What?
Texas property Releif ❤
what happens after the 3rd year when it expires?
Word: Texas❤
Texas has high property taxes
Wish Newsom would do this, but he won't!!!!
No because the Democrats always want to keep you in the poor house throughout your life while they steal billions.
You have to pay for his tranny prostitutes.
Vote Red then
Stop allowing religious groups to be tax-free! Big con game.

I would rather Texas switch to income tax as opposed to property tax

I bet they are Renting those houses from the Smiths. Lol
If the owners don’t include taxes then they don’t know what TF they’re doing.
The property owners pay the property tax and it is passed to the tenant in the rent. Jeez.
@@ChopperChad I am the property owner. JEEZ.
