    Just wanted to send a quick message to say thanks! A few years back I watched a ton of your videos, bought your IOA course and a sewing machine, and have been tailoring my clothes ever since. I've dabbled in other projects - sewing doll assesories, making bows and scrunchies, sewed the perfect tie for a company Christmas party (bonus - a great conversation piece), transformed old dress shirts into dresses for the kids, and made some Halloween costumes too. An amazing skill. Glad to see your channel continue to grow!

      Yeah I was honestly surprised by them. They reached out a few weeks ago and I was like "no way, I buy your stuff all the time!" I've found some duds for sure but every company has their misses ya know? But overall for the price I've found some AMAZING statement pieces! They are one of the only Amazon companies that sell workout clothes that are consistent! Some companies have sizes all over the place between different colors and it's super annoying. not Coofandy though!

    First of all, I love your channel and learned a great deal from you so a HUGE thank you. This being said, I would stay away from Coofandy as their fabric quality is subpar. The coat you linked looks good in the picture and could be an option if the budget is very tight but what they call Wool blend is 100% polyester. I would look elsewhere for budget clothing made from quality fabrics.

      Glad you like the channel! And I'm sorry you've had a bad experience with them! I've honestly been buying their clothes on Amazon for awhile now, and yes I've definitely found some that aren't the best. But overall I've been super happy with the majority of the things that I've bought from them.

  • @MeepMeep88
    @MeepMeep88 Год назад +1

    Yep, glad I didn't cut the excess fabric when I took in the sides of my work out shirts. Lol I either got too fat or I made it too tight or... combination of both.
    But now I have to take out the seams and make it looser 🤣

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  Год назад

      That's actually what I want to tailor next, a workout shirt. I've done it so many times now to my own shirts that a tutorial is long overdue!

      @@StylishDTailors Workout shirts are an interesting subject too.
      Adidas makes a couple polyester/spandex (aka elastane) blend workout shirts and they're super stretchy compared to 100% polyester which doesn't have any stretch unless they weave it a certain way. But that's a "mechanical" stretch whereas elastane is stretchy by its own property.
      I think that's why so many people like Lululemon shirts and stuff.
      Welp have fun with 2ft of snow we might be getting!

    Hey D, Quick Question. I’m a 6’5 guy so I always struggle finding Large Tall and Extra Large Tall. I told my wife I was going to buy a sewing machine so I would be able to shop more places buy buying XXL or maybe even XXL clothes and tailor them. Is that still too big of a change? If I got something like a 58 L sports jacket and tailored it to fit me would it look stupid?

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  Год назад +1

      No way! Thats perfect for you. My rule of thumb is more so geared towards YOU. If an XXL already fits you decently because of your size then thats totally fine. I would drown in it for instance. Does that make sense?

  • @MeepMeep88
    @MeepMeep88 Год назад +1

    Yep, people don't understand a body/shirts is 3 dimensional.
    So taking in the sides only make you look good when someone is looking at you from the back/front.
    If you don't put darts in your shirts, you'll have excess fabric around the lumbar area which will result in that parachute look when you tuck in your shirt.. Even if you do the "military tuck" lol or whatever it's called.
    Basically if you don't put in darts, the curvature of your back will look flat, which might look weird. If you're fat, probably wont matter lol.

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  Год назад

      Spot on! And I haven't heard of the military tuck and after Googling it it makes sense...I guess?

    Hi there! I was hoping to get some advice on tailoring my shirts. I'm a man with broad shoulders and a larger chest, but my hands are quite thin. Because of this, I often have to buy larger shirts, which means that I end up with too much material in the sleeves with "bat wings." I've been trying to find videos online that can show me how to remove this extra material, but most of them focus on removing material from the sides and the sleeves at the same time. Do you have any tips on how to tailor shirt sleeves specifically? Thank you!

    • @StylishDTailors
      @StylishDTailors  9 месяцев назад

      I made a batwing video not too long ago actually haha! But I would suggest doing both as just doing the sleeves might make the side seams look different from each other.
