I took your advice on buying a used sewing machine, got at Goodwill for $30.00 Since then I have altered many pants and shirts. I can buy Clearance clothing that are too long or big and alter them myself. I have probably saved or a thousand dollars in clothing and altering costs. You are awesome! now my wife is having me alter her clothes also. As a combat veteran and motorcycle biker, I had to check my ego at the door and learn to sew.

Also, never, never never never use your fabric scissors on paper. Don’t let anybody else in the house use them for anything else, but fabric. If you do, they will go dull very quickly and you will be really frustrated trying to cut fabric! Love the channel.

Great videos, really inspiring and makes sewing seem accessible.
    My tip.
Guttermann maraflex thread is a game changer, top quality and the stretch is so forgiving for sewing t shirt jersey etc.
    THANKS👍

Rigid, Dangling! So much innuendo SD. Hey, I've a suggestion. It's left-field for sure. But I know you are always considering how to jazz up your content. When you store that pencil behind your ear for the opening of the video, record a few lines of content then switch to a green pencil and continue, edit out the swap in post-production. Likewise when doing sewing things with a pinned hemline between takes change the colors of the pins. It will just mess with people and see if they are paying full attention. ✅
    You know it makes sense.☑

In one of your videos you said that SS stitch is a chain stitch. It is not. It was invented to be a stretch stitch. It fell awfully, instead it is a great utility stitch. Home machine are on the average are lock stitch. Please look up chain stitch. I been sewing for over 50 years. Chain stitch has a loop underneath. There is no bobbin thread. One end locks the other you pull and it just rips out. Like the seam on potato, onions and pet food bags. I like the fact you are frugal to do it yours.
