The hardest part is getting it to the right size. It has to be 800x384 or it won’t take the file. It’s picky.

Have you find any solution about sync 3 yet? Have you tried to use a different usb format ? How can a newer version of sync to not allow custom wallpapers? I think that is strange!
It’s super weird but I still don’t think you can. Sync 4 doesn’t allow it either I’ve heard. Haven’t researched it though.
Can someone help me. Is there a way to make the radio station emblem and map direction smaller so u can see more of your custom walpaper????

Can this work on Sync 3 version 2.2? Or does version 3.4 have to be?
I don’t think it can be done on sync 3. I’ve looked and looked and I don’t think anyone has found a way

Stupid Question, but how do you get that home screen interface? I would like my Sync 3 to look like that.
Haha funny you say that. Most of us on the older my Ford touch want sync 3 but you can’t update the software on the older models. You can’t change sync3 back to MFT. Honestly it’s a good thing though because it’s pretty laggy. I hate it. I almost bought a 17 instead of my 15 just because of it but I couldn’t justify the cost for anything other than that.
Its only on some SYNC3® options. It's mostly on SYNC2®
Would this work for a 2020 ford f150 sxt?. Im pretty tech savvy and quick learner. I just bought this new truck today and curious about setting custom wallpaper on my touchscreen. I tried searching online and im not finding anything helpful except the basic how to change background theme but I already did that in settings to stock backgrounds but have idea for wallpaper i want set. I'll try it on my phone first first chance I get pending if I get reply to this before I get chance to try it myself.
No it won’t work past 2016. In 17 (I think) they went to sync 3. I don’t think there’s a way to do it yet. I can’t remember the year for absolute sure but I know 2020 is sync 3 for sure. I wouldn’t even try. You can’t on a new one. Happy new truck though. That’s awesome.
@@Phatphatyo thanks man. Thats a shame. Ik I have options to connect my phone to it and play music and transfer data according to sale rep. Who knows maybe it'll work, maybe not maybe not. He mentioned listening to music from my phone through usb. Always worth a shot in trying atleast. Just figured I'd ask first since this is big step from my 2007 f150. All ik is the backgrounds that came with the truck are way to basic.
Richard McCleave agreed. They are. You can do those things though that he said. Car play and android auto are both pretty cool.
Does this have to been done through USB or can it be done off a phone?
I did it with usb but you should be able to on a phone as long as it’s not iPhone. You have to have a phone that’s capable of being used as a storage device. Even on android you’d have to turn on developer settings and enable usb mode (use as storage) on some phones. Depends on which one. But as long as it lets you plug it into a computer and view the files on it and drag/drop or copy/paste, then yes.
CAN YOU TELL ME IF I NEED A USB DRIVE THAT ONLY HAS THE PICTURES I WANT ON IT?? OR CAN THE USB BE FULL OF OTHER STUFF TOO?
Yeah you can. Mine had other stuff. You just have to find the folder.
Christian Juneau check 5:00 - you can see other folders on the usb drive and 6:50ish, you can see them in the truck. I pick what folder to get them from. Hope that helps.
I'm guessing u can't do any of this stuff through a usb stick with the sync 3??? Only earlier versions.??

@@Phatphatyo I've left my Bluetooth sync 3 connected to my phone apps and Lent car to my mate. Just a bit worried he could see my pics or images in my phone? Through sync 3? Or does sync 3 not support pics and imAges through it. Any help appreciated 👍
Danny Ballsy yeah not that I know. I’ve tried to view things even while the phone is hooked up to it with usb cables and you can’t mirror it even then. It’s one limitation of CarPlay even. You can’t mirror certain apps, only maps and phone and stuff. No videos or pics. So not only can they not view your media but they especially can’t without your phone being there.

Wasn’t 2017 sync 3? It will work if it’s sync 2 but not 3.

You can use a picture from your cell phone but it has to be trimmed to these specs. Either trim with an app if you can find one that does exact sizes (I haven’t seen one) or use a computer.

Depends on the app you use. I doubt you can because it has to be sized just right

I don’t believe so. If it has the MFT system then yes but I believe the 18 has sync 3. (Blue and white screens) and it can not be done on sync 3.

Yeah I haven’t seen how yet. I look every now and again. I’ll have a sync 3 vehicle in the next few months so I’ll get working on it. :)

The 209 The 209 it’s 800x384. As long as you CROP it to 800x384 and NOT SHRINK it to that you’re fine.

No it doesn’t. It doesn’t work on any version of sync 3 to my knowledge. I wish someone would figure out how on sync 3 but I look every now and again and haven’t found any solution.

Weird. Is it the right size photo? It’s got to be exact, down to the pixel, or the system doesn’t like the file

Instead of letting it squish it, crop the photo to a multiple of 800 x 384. (i.e 1600 x 768 which is 2x, or 2400 x 1152 (3x)) and then resize the photo to 800 x 384 and it will scale correctly and it won't get squished.
I think that’s what I did. The example photo was taken too close and it made his head look fat but it’s the right aspect ratio. Haha

You could just GET TO THE POINT instead of taking us through all the photo resizing and file renaming BS!
It doesn’t work. That’s why I do it. Watch the video instead of criticizing before you know the facts. It has to be that exact size down to the pixel or it won’t work. Most people including you don’t know that. That’s why it’s a tutorial.

That was all that needed to be said, instead you wasted almost 5 Minutes sorting through pics, resizing, renaming, talking about how they were taken and so on. This 9:51 video could have been about 3 minutes if you just stuck with relevant information! Learn how to make a proper tutorial! And man up and learn how to take criticism instead of whining like a little bitch snowflake!
@@-WhizzBang- that wasn’t whining. It was an explanation. If you think half of the people on RUclips know how to resize a photo to an exact aspect ratio you’re out of touch. I’ve got pretty thick skin, you didn’t offend me, you only made an fool of yourself is all. If you look at the comments there is comment after comment that all say it was helpful. Check the facts before you run your mouth. Take care and go watch something else if you don’t like what’s on.

I don’t make videos for the hits. I don’t claim to be good at tutorials. It was made for a specific audience. I wasn’t going to waste my time making it smooth. I was figuring it out a bit as I went too. Sorry. There is certainly more talent out there with those that do it for a living.
